Great car with 7 years warranty and roadside assist!
I did my research thoroughly before buying my new 2015 kia Rio 3 Dr hatch. I looked at the other cars the same price but there was nothing that matched the build quality. Also a lot of the other new cars are only 3 cylinders which I wasn't excited about. The hatch is very large for a small car, the seats strong and comfortable and can fit my 6" 3 tall husband with plenty of leg room and his head doesn't touch the roof!. features are Bluetooth, media player, steering wheel controls, seat height control, adjustable steering column, keyless entry ...Read more
and power windows. I ordered mine in black for an extra $525 and the paint job is superb with its metallic paint with lovely blue little flakes through it which you can see in bright sunlight. The boot is large for a hatch. Drives well and the semi auto gearbox has manual mode. Very good on fuel. I had my windows tinted with darkest legal tint and it looks gorgeous with the black paint. Services are capped only needing one logbook service a year, first one in 3 months or 3000km is free. Every year you have a service entitles you to 1 year free roadside assist. As far as I'm concerned, if a manufacturer can give you 7 years unlimited kms warranty, they must believe in the quality of the car. This was a big factor for me as well as style and performance. Hence I bought the car. Only downside is I need to get rear parking camera, which I will buy on eBay in the form of a rear view mirror sensor, I'm trying to get used to forward parking as you can't see the bonnet. The front and rear parking sensors are an optional extra for around $800 for both. I will fix that by getting cheaper on eBay, your choice though. Overall, highly recommended.Similar opinion? What a great car
I bought my base model S 3 door Rio late last year as a second car 'run about'. For a budget car I am amazed at the quality finish and drivability. The 1.4 engine loves to rev with no harshness experienced. Gear changes in the 6 speed manual gear box are precise. The 5 and 6 gears are genuine overdrive gears. The car handles very well is fun to drive. Love the seven year warranty. When I replace the car in 3 years the car will be sold with 4 years of new vehicle warranty remaining.
Only negative was the lack of Cruise Control. I asked KIA abo...Read more

So i bought my wee kia in 2013 and to be honest i am a first time driver, so lets just say this car has pretty much ploughed through almost every little error one could possibly make on the road! From australian wildlife :( to accidental driving over carpark tree islands... and its still going strong! No damage to my suprise! This car is my baby.. its amazing to drive! A real decent set of wheels! Its designed to be easy on the eye aswell as packed full of punch under the hood! However mine is a 1.4L engine so i do admit i sometimes have to tu...Read more

Kia Rio
I have had my Kia Rio S 3 door 1.4 manual for nearly 6 weeks now and even though I have only done 1200 kms in it I find driving it to be an absolute joy. It's a really sweet car that does everything you ask it to in traffic (I am not a lead foot), feels very solid on the road and is very quiet and comfortable inside. The brakes are firm but strong and the 6 speed requires a little more gear changing than I am used to. There is slight understeer in cornering but when pushed it responds well. Styling is brilliant and it comes across as a seriousl...Read more

2012 Kia Rio Si Manual
Kia Rio is a lovely car.. I have bought it in early 2012 and I have travelled 70000km with that baby and not a single problem came up.
Fuel economy is great, I did and do a lot from Melbourne to Sydney and fuel consumption is about 4.9-5.1L/100km. If I drive in urban areas, I get 6.1-6.5l/100km if I drive terribly with stupid traffic lights killing all the momentum but if not, constantly around or below 6.1l/100km. Probably this is why I bought this. Absolutely stunning fuel economy with no struggles on the road.
But yes I have to say I ...Read more
have to change to 3rd or 2nd and push the accelerator like there is no tomorrow to either go up the hill or overtake someone. Now with service, as usual, I am not very happy with any dealers. When I had Toyota Corolla before, I noticed that they charged for something that they actually did nothing about. Seriously, don't go to dealerships for services unless it's warranty and something that dealership has to solve. Luckily my baby car has had no issues with anything in the car. If you get your car serviced regularly and if you look for faults cautiously, you shouldn't have any problems. If I was asked if I want to buy Kia again, then yes. I would. But then, I might buy something bigger like Cerato or Sportage.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Not bad, but...
I bought a kia rio s 3 door about 3 months ago. I was tossing up whether to buy a new cheap car or a good second hand car. Buying a second hand car is such a lottery so I bought the kia.
It's a manual. Not bad acceleration and I mainly use it around the suburbs.
No rattles yet. It's no good at all for back seat passengers as there's no windows to open and it's a bit cramped. My youngest isnt a fan. I don't like the way one of the panels bends when you lean on it. Cheap and nasty.
It's pretty quiet. I could hardly hear the engine at all at ...Read more

2013 Auto 1.4 litre hatchback - Great little Giant car
First of all, please be aware that the newer Rio is a completely different breed. There's no fault at all and I'm a very pleased owner. I love the brake, it's quite firm. Weight of the 1.4 litre auto gear hatchback car is about 1.1ton, pretty heavy for its size (hence the solidness), but the acceleration speed is pretty good, better than my last 3.0 litre V6. It's a small car, but I managed to bring home a TV bench (about 1.8m) and a room divider (about 2m) from Ikea in a single trip! The suspension is firm, so it's good for the Sydney potholes...Read more
and I don't have to worry about doing alignment every now and then. I love the sound system, it's playing 1000 songs from a usb pen/thumb drive directly. I don't think the 5 years unlimited warranty (plus extra 3 years mechanical warranty from Kia dealer, YES total 8 years!) is of any use to me, but it's a peace of mind. firm brake, playing pen drive directly, speedy acceleration, solid, amble size, 5 years unlimited km warranty, 3 years Kia dealer's extra warranty many good features not advertised11 comments

er the world, just google and read for yourself. When majority of the reviews especially those from the USA suggesting positive comments, you'd know that you are more than likely going to get a good product. Do not listen to one sided story, there're also other factors affecting a car performance & reliability, driving habit is one of them, that's why people got to be careful on who they buy the cars from. You might have seen how those road bully's behave on the road and you wouldn't want to buy their used cars. Be wise.I bought my Rio S in Oct 2012 and have been very happy with it. Solid build good handling and enough power around town. Plenty of features for the money. comfy seats and spacious interior for a light car.

Way better than expected
I average over 120kms per day and obviously rack up big kilometres annually. As. Much as I would (like everyone) prefer a more exotic car in the driveway, I have to admit that my 2012 Kia Rio SLi has exceeded my expectations. Not just the car, Kia has also exceeded my expectations. As I type this, my Rio has done just short of 70,000kms and it hasn't had its second birthday. Naturally, the unlimited kilometre warranty was a big selling point, but the great news has been that with the exception of a dashboard rattle, the warranty hasn't been req...Read more
uired - special thanks to my dealership and Kia for sorting that out. Running costs along with fixed price servicing have been really low. I like the day running lights and Bluetooth and it looks great when it is clean. There is also a surprising amount of room inside the car as well...we went as a family of four for a three week holiday in the Rio and our almost six feet tall son fits in the back seat and his knees don't touch the back of the front seat (we are not short either). We liked the Rio so much, we traded our other car (that does less that 15,000kms per year) with a Kia Cerato. Low running costs, safety features, fun to drive Couldn't get climate control on SLi, would also like the visible chrome exhaust of the SLSSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very loose steering wheel
35k on the clock mainly country driving, this week can't drive over 90kph steering is all over the place. Checked tyres, tomorrow I'll swap them around. May call dealer to see if he can shine some light. It's like when I brought the car 45 PSI in tyres the goose in the workshop only let the air out to the right pressure on one wheel.
Cheap car to run
Back rear view vision is poor! But then again all cars seems to be going this stupid way!

own sides for me are a little bit light in he steering so you don't get as much feed back from the car but I'm getting much more used to that. I have the manual and don't like the ESP which dea Faults to ON position (traction control) as in all cars I'm sure. In a manual, other than in the wet I think ESP is more of a danger as you don't have that instant acceleration in 1st you may need. All up a very enjoyable and luxurious car packed with features.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

An attractive looking Car with lots of features and more than a touch on luxurious appointments such as leather Seats, leather Steering Wheel, climate control, turning Lights, break leed Lights, Mirror indicators and much more.
The Car is very well designed and it shows with the little things that are often overlooked in other Cars of a similar caliber. It handles smoothly around the bends. Wow!!
Wow!! what a car, I am so impressed with it, brand new off the show room floor and I still haven't found any negative issues with it. Everything works as it is supposed to and I am still finding the odd nice surprise in it. It drives smoothly, is very comfortable and very good looking.
Everything, at the moment I cannot find one thing I dislike about it.
If I have an issue it would be a very trivial one, my previous 2009 Kia Rio had a much smaller fuel guage, this new Kia Rio has a much larger one which can give you a false sense of how much fuel you actually do have, as I said it is only a minor issue and only for people who have previously had a vehicle with a small fuel guage.

I cant believe that the idiots would ask you to drive a car in that condition over knowing very well there is no one there to assist and endanger people in the process.
