You get what you pay for
If Kogan know their products are such low quality, yet continue to flog them off to unsuspecting customers, makes you wonder about the ethics of the company. You also have to ask yourself if the other products they're flogging off are the same. Don't even bother with their 'after sales support'.
In my opinion, better to try another retailer with a bit of integrity. Vote with your feet until these organisations start to listen to and respect their customers.

POOR photo colouring
The colour correction has turned everything orange (and blacks to browns) despite the (useless) display looking correct. Also, photo paper used for ultrasounds reflects a light in the bottom left corner (destroying the image) and I imagine it will be the same for any glossy photographs. I don't care what resolution it thinks it has, there is no fixing the scanned image, and even though it's light and portable it still needs an outlet so I see no reason any flatbed wouldn't be a better choice.
TL;DR Save your money, I wouldn't buy this for $10.

Very disappointed
I purchased this scanner a couple of years ago but due to life commitments, I have only unpacked it today. If I'd known I'd bought a lemon, I would have returned it. My slides are very clear when I hold them up to the light, but when scanned, they are blurred and blue! I can't see where there is a way to adjust either setting. Very disappointed!

made a big mistake buying this thing
First scanner arrived and would not power up. Replaced good service.
The replaced one powers up but will not capture anything. Have had a friend who is a electronics wiz try it because it may be something i am doing or not doing but he has had no luck either. Have spent hours trying to make it work.

Totally bad.
This scanner obviously is not good quality. People still putting bad reviews on and it has been over twelve months since I returned mine and for the same reasons still, being listed. I returned mine and got a replacement but it was just the same as first one. Ended up with a refund. Maybe you should look into this product and maybe not stock it.

Not working
The Kogan scanner doesn’t work as it should I go to switch it on and it doesn’t like it and automatically turns itself off with a ‘Goodbye’ message- SD card is inserted.

Scanning defaults to negative for EVERY scan
This scanner scans slides really well, with good definition HOWEVER, the scanner defaults to negative mode for each and every slide scan, which is extremely frustrating. So, for EVERY slide scan, you have to enter the mode, select slide, then capture the image and save it. While the scans are a good quality the added time required to enter the mode setting for every slide makes this unit extremely frustrating and time consuming to use for slides.

Adequate but nothing to write home about
I have only used the photo scanner function. The scans are far from brilliant. It is also difficult to navigate menus to edit to adjust light, colour, etc. and the buttons are prone to sticking. I think I would have done better to buy a flatbed scanner. The advertising says "Connect to your computer via USB or simply save directly to SD card", however you have to save to an SD card - it seems you cannot save directly to the computer without an SD card. I am disappointed with this product.

It seems that the unit I got is faulty.
I sent off some scan files from the unit and the same photos scanned on a flatbed scanner to highlight the poor quality. I am expecting a full refund in the near future.

G'day Heather L. No You cannot save direct to computer and good luck trying to get it to work anyway.
Yes you can. On my Mackbook - open finder & you should see the file, I think named no name. Open it up & you should see all photo files. You can open & file where you want them.
Also mine downloaded into Dropbox file named camera uploads ( that is when it worked sometimes)

1 From Slides I can only get Negative results.
2 After scanning one on the slide carrier I get a lock up sign and cannot show the other three on the slide

1. Make sure you use the mode button twice if necessary, ist to select film then ok 2nd to select slide (the second icon from left) then ok, then push ok/capture
2. That was also one of my problems which I could not solve. had to turn off power & try again which was only successful sometimes.

SD storage is required, the options are to either remove the SD card or just connect to the scanner from your computer, especially handy if your computer doesn't have an SD card reader.
