A good basic large-format TV to use as a starting point for a quality DIY home cinema.
I paid $762 on special, including delivery, for this 4K HDR LED non-smart TV. I gave it the smarts with a 5th-generation Apple TV 4K UHD set-top box, which "talks" to my MacBook laptop and iPhone. This set-up integrates perfectly with Apple's walled Garden of Eden. All that's missing is a barely clad Eve, which neither Kogan nor Apple sell. I linked my stereo system to the Apple TV box to overcome the issue of thin sound from the tinny loudspeakers in the Kogan TV. I now have a home cinema the equal of any. Without a good stereo system, you wou...Read more
ld need to provide ancillary active loudspeakers or a quality soundbar to achieve cinema-grade audio. However, this set-up does require a fast internet connection and WiFi network. The picture on the LED TV is excellent. Most signal input options are covered, including Antenna In (RF IN) x 1; Component (YPbPr) x 1; Composite (AV) x 1; HDCP 2.2; HDMI x 3; HDCP 2.2; HDMI-ARC / HDMI 2; HDMI-CEC. Outputs are 3.5mm Stereo Audio x 1; Coaxial Audio Out x 1. This set-up also could also be achieved with the Android set-top box.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great TV for half the price of the competitors
I was sceptical of buying such a large purchase from an online only retailer but with the price at approx half of the equivalent brick and mortar store's cheapest 65in 4K HDR panel (TCL, Hisense etc at $1200) it was irresistible. I paid $697 which included premium delivery where thankfully the couriers were able to remove my now sadly dead 80kg LG plasma and thereby save me from a whole lot of hassle, $50 worth of ute rental and the expected case of beer for my brother to help me get rid of it.
Delivery was fast - 3 days from ordering. The c...Read more
ouriers unboxed the panel and removed the packaging for me. Adding the legs was a fairly easy operation. The quality of the legs was a surprise, they are solid metal, very sturdily constructed and look quite stylish. I was able to screw in the legs and flip the screen onto the TV cabinet myself but it would be much easier with two people as its a large and ungainly shape at 65in. Initially I was concerned that the picture quality would be inferior to my good old plasma but my fears were unfounded, the 4k content on Netflix renders in incredibly rich colour (no doubt due to the HDR capability) and brilliant clarity. David Attenborough's specials have never looked so good It's not a smart TV so you'll need to get a device to plug in to access online content- we have both a PS4 and a Foxtel Now box onto which I've loaded all the required apps and both work seamlessly with the TV. I recommend spending the $59 for the Foxtel box and sideloading apps like Netflix/Kayo etc using Aptoid as the Foxtel interface is quite nice. DownsidesPurchased in June 2021 at Kogan.com for A$679.00.
