Performs to expectations
I had the first model of Laurastar iron (Magic) for 16 years before it finally stopped working. I do wonder if the GO can provide the same level of quality & endurance. The iron itself is much lighter, hence the tendency to push it around with more effort, as it doesn't glide as easily. I like the auto shut-off safety feature.
As far as the ironing & steaming capabilities are concerned, the GO does the job well & lives up to the Laurastar brand.

Irons well
The iron system works well, the only drawback it runs out of steam quickly and you have to stop, let the iron cool down then refill, reheat then you can iron again this takes about 20 minutes, it is an annoyance especially when you have to repeat the process about five time, Otherwise a great iron,

Numerous Quality (and Service) Issues are Ongoing.
We have been great supporters of Laura Star for some 10 years with the old iron and so felt safe and comfortbale when time came to replace the old iron (the fix it cost was around $600 so we thought "wow! that's expensive", and of course the Laura Star shop "upgraded" us to a newer model that cost us around $2000!!!!!! This means the old iron was costing us $200 per year to run.).

he iron appeared to stick causing jets of high pressure steam to continually stream out...it was scarely - and dangerous. Also the simplest thing would not work....the new (clicks on at the back instead of the old spring attachment) ironing plate just would not fit...it kept on falling off. I was wondering for some time if I was doing something wrong but when inside the Laura Star shop, the confirmed it did not work. I'm now wondering..."Do they have a quality check?'" We are about to take the same Laura Star iron in today. For weeks it's been very badly leaking. There are a list of issue. First, an "O ring" fell out and I think this fits somewhere on the screw cap. We don't know how to fit it back, so we just put it on the screw portion of the cap and screw on the cap. Second, we're not sure if this works because once the screw is on tightly, and we turn on the Laura Star we still see steam streaming from cap. Very hot water also leaks down the body and onto the carpet. I've filmed it on video. Third, a crack has now appear in the housing near the screw cap. Fourth, we it comes to ironing itself, intermittently, too much water streaks out onto the garment soaking the garment - this did not happen with our old 10 year model. I have been reading user review response which seem to be signed off by Dino (MD) most of the time which seem to say 1) it was the initial production batch which had problems....really? I don't think so. Isolation is also a managment technique but I suspect the problem is much wider that you let on and 2) the entire iron is made in Europe..if so, I must stay that European quality is now much worse than China quality (where they make the iphones)!!!!1 comment
