I also would like to tell you my opinion with this machine that this is a price of toy fully plastic body and weak wheel's arms, only suitable for small regularly maintained lawns very pricey $600, comparison with a Bunnings $150 petrol mower that is 10 times stronger than this Makita would last much longer.

Make sure steel handle us fully up. Push and hold red button in. Squeeze the handle down and release the red button when motor starts, it will stay in while motor is running

not the self propelled version it is a bit expensive

There are several 18V models that have the metal deck that are available as a tool only or in a kit:
NOT SELF PROPELLED:
1). the $549 DLM461 model uses 2x18V batteries and has a 460mm cut width. It has 2 cutting blades.
2). the $749 DLM531 model uses 2 sets of 2x18V switchable pairs of batteries and has a cutting width of 534mm and a side chute. I think it has 4 cutting blades.
IS SELF PROPELLED:
1). the $999 DLM533 model uses 2 sets of 2X18V switchable pairs of batteries, and has a cutting width of 534mm. I think it has 4 cutting blades.

Yes they do. It works great.

Do not get one waste of money go for a proper lawnmower if the grass is the slightest bit wet these things jam up

I am old it is 3 years for repairs.

Started vibrating terribly, like the blade is off centre

Go to a makita repair place. They will be able to check both for you. My call its the battery
