Poor car to buy 2nd hand
Have been through two!! 2nd hand MPS's
first i got from a family friend moving interstate. it had brake warping problems, aircon and a shocking gearbox,
ok it did have 105,000ks so i thought i just got a lemon.
Until i got another one, it only had 61,500ks i was very happy, good grip in the wet (after an expensive trip to the tyre shop)(got rid of the crappy rims as-well)
good interior for how old they are, leather ok quality, part time AWD also much better than i thought.
all good until 75,000km started to get some feedback from the gearbox, within days the thing felt like a tractor!
cant be fixed... so i replaced it, then the air-con went not even 2
weeks after the gearbox!
all meant to be common problems.

The best all rounder on the market - Mazda 6 Diesel
Bought new one of the first in the country - pearlescent white wagon. So far over 120,000 trouble free km.
It's been a daily driver on both suburban and highway roads and has been loaded to the roof at times. It has everything you need for reliable, quick, economical and practical transport. Its not so big its hard to park but can carry a surprisingly large load helped by the flat folding back seats.
The interior is comfortable, attractive and hard wearing and the economy is about 7.6l/100km average over the life of the car! It still ...Read more
looks great and apart from a battery, tyres and scheduled servicing hasn't cost a cent. The back brakes were replaced for the first time at 90,000 and the front pads STILL haven't been changed. These only come in a 6-spd manual - no auto. They're amazingly quick specially in mid range power and very, very easy and relaxing to drive. Ultra reliable, still stylish, practical and well equipped. Cheap to run yet fast and fun to drive. Amazing handling. Servicing a little more expensive, no iPod connect/streaming and no auto

We bought our classic mazda6 4 speed petrol wagon new in 2005. It’s a great car and 5 years on we’re still very happy with it. The standard features are great, especially the cargo barrier. We have had no issues, it’s very reliable and we still get the dealer to service it. We can fit 3 car restraints across the back and it’s a versatile family car. One thing to watch though is one of the children left an interior light on all day and the battery was flat that night. It is possible the battery was on the way out anyway.
looks good and drives well

Have replaced PVC valve, very expensive, all injectors eventually $1500 each for genuine, non genuine under $800 each, dpf convertor $5,500, sensors $2000 plus, muffler $450. All perfect now but what do I do, trust it or pass it on? Everything else is fine, steers, cruises, sips fuel. Stows plenty. Red dash lights are a bit weird. ue to the all too common failure of DPF's and the massive cost of replacing them. Cars that run these need regular long highway runs at speed for at least 30 minutes plus each time so the filter gets hot enough to burn off the particles they filter out and not get blocked. City driving and short trips kill them.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Outstanding quality
I have owned this car since 2003. I have never had a single problem, mechanical or electrical. The quality and build is outstanding, not even a dash rattle after 9 years. The drive is sporting and steering direct. Mazda design is very eye catching and a step above the average sedan. My next purchase will definitely be another 6.

This is a roomy, confortable and reliable car. Not perfect, but damn practical and value for money. Being a wagon, the rear holds an incredible amount of stuff, but I'm yet to find clips to hold my shopping upright. Great if you have kids, I'd recommed you get the rubber boot liner though. I LOVE my car.
The interior is stylish and fairly roomy. The dash display is clear, looks good and not overly crowded. I particularly like the cargo barrier / retractable cover. The interior is also hard wearing. Relatively economical - cheap to run. ...Read more

Love this car. Even or esp with roof racks on. Elegant performance. I've test driven the 2010 version which is a spec'd up version. Perhaps it's time for that replacement/ upgrade.

My first test drive of the Mazda was great, it had heaps of pwer and a massive load space which I needed for my company. On the top end the engine struggled with overtaking large road trains, the SV6 Holden Sportwagon I had was a lot better at over taking than the Mazda. But in saying this my other co-workers have had the Mazda 6 wagon now for a few years and over 100,000km+ with no issues at all
Great size, and a name you can trust and get good value when trading in
Plastic feel and pricey to buy brand new

Impressive little car, and this is from someone not really into smaller cars. Responsive enough to take off smartly at the lights, nippy around town and a really lovely smooth drive at highway speeds.
The build quality is good, paint quality seems good, interior finish is solid and not tacky. Lots of nice inclusions like rain-sensing wipers, auto headlights, parking sensors front and rear, bluetooth, excellent computer.
Not a huge amount of leg room for back-seat passengers, but not ridiculously little either. But has a REALLY generous amoun...Read more

Great car - best I've owned. 135k and still going stong. Great highway car used to do the 12 hour trip to Cairns on its head.
2005 Luxury sports hatch 6sp manual. Fantastic, bose sound, leather seats, ride and road noice. Performance fantastic and very fuel economical!
Air conditioning compressor needed replacing 3.5 yrs after buying - lucky I had the 4 year warrantly as this was a $2000.00 replacement cost.

In late 2007, my husband and I went looking for a family wagon as we were expecting our first child. We wanted a wagon with plenty of room in the back, but we also wanted a nice looking car that was nice to drive, but wasn't too expensive. We looked at a few different cars, but quickly decided on a 2007 Mazda6 wagon (5sp auto). Mazda's are known to hold their value over the years and my husband had previously owned 2 Mazda's, so he knew they make good cars. The Mazda6 wagon looks trendy, is so easy and comfortable to drive, and handles really well around corners.
Great looking car, drives fantastically, heaps of leg room for everyone plus heaps of space in the back - a really nice car to drive overall

Mazda6 Diesel Wagon: Having driven professionally for many years in a variety of classes (cars/trucks/buses) and having had the chance to sample most makes I'm very impressed with my new wagon. The fit and finish is what you should expect of a well made vehicle, panel fit is good, nothing squeaks or rattles, there are no glue dags on the trim and the overall impression is of quality. The motor is ideal for my style of driving as I prefer a grunty engine over a revver, not that a 5000rpm redline is too shabby for a diesel. The Gearbox ratios are...Read more
specific to the diesel and this shows in country driving especially. Around town most drivers will rarely get to use 5th gear, much less 6th, but the country trips really make you appreciate this feature. Comfortable cruising is around 120-140kmh. The first second shift is little notchy but this could change with a few more K's, mines only done 8000. The Chassis, what a surprise! very few wagons let you play without threatening to leave the road backwards at some point, most are overcome by the limitations of an extended wheelbase and compromised suspension settings. This chassis is the nicest I have driven since my sister in laws 2003 BMW 318. It does not had the ride quality of the BMW but it easily matches it for responsivesness, feel and grip, not to mention control and fun factor! The braking better than it needs to be, the ABS having activated once when playing in the dirt. Overall I rate this car very highly, the combination of economy (really good) and quality combined with comfort and price its a really good deal for a family that doesnt need or want the full sized wagon as well as satisfying the driver inside. Great car, exceptional wagon.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great car - fule is not too bad - but I am used to smaller cars with better fuel economy. Really comfy for a small family. Lots of extra bits and pieces and gadgets which hubby loves. Climate control.Overall I would buy a mazda 6 again I really do enjoy driving the car in the city and on highways.
Really comfortable car seats - fornt and back. Boot is massive and can fit a pram plus the shopping. Will fit four adults comfortably.Climate control for different zones.
Blind spot. (thogh I do find every mazda I have driven has bad vision out the back generally) cant see much when i reverse.

A practical family car that also rewards the driver with impressive handling and sporty performance. The "6" was perfect for our regular trips from Melbourne to Northern NSW. We rarely filled the boot even with all our gear. It loved the twisty bits of road too.
Solid, reliable, never had a problem in 3 years. Great handling and sporty nature. Huge boot as big or bigger than larger sedans. Six speed gearbox.
overall gearing a bit short, giving 3000rpm at highway cruise. Economy only slightly better than the 2002 WRX it replaced.

Toyota reliability (I've owned a camry that did 355,000km) plus driver enjoyment that's half the price of Euro brands.
Amazing to drive! Beautiful, balanced, engaged, responsive steering and handling. 6 speed MANUAL a must. The lines are so curvaceous, please I must stop :)
Zoom zoom jingle. :) Can chew the juice a little but that's partly the driver's fault as it begs to be driven hard at times. Also the ride is fairly firm and there's a fair amount of road/tyre noise at times but the flip side is that you feel so engaged with the road and the car. :)

Was a 2005 Classic hatch manual. Done 155,000km of 99% country driving. Did majority of Km's on standard unleaded with no problems. Wife switched to Premium unleaded for last 5000km and had noticed slight improvement in fuel economy. Lower black immitation air intakes in bumper too easy to get knocked out by birds. Have to put onto hoist to get behind bumper to put them back in. Back seat not quite wide enough for three car seats now new child restraint laws have come in. Third restraint mounting point at rear hatch latch meaning strap stops an...Read more
thing of size (ie pram)being put in. High hipline so kids (1 to 3 year olds) have trouble seeing out over the door panel, fine as they get older. Regretted selling it. Looked at updating to a 6 wagon but new model still has the width issue for child seats. Traded to Kluger, hope we don't regret selling the Mazda. Loved this car. It was hers when we met so I didn't have a say in purchase. Surprised at power for overtaking after coming from V8 torque. Good handling, great in the mountains and fun on gravel. Little torque steer. Good fuel economy approx 6.4 - 7.2 on country driving (we don't do cities). Reliabilty, Reliabilty, relaibilty (nothing at all went wrong) Cost of spark plugs at regular service (need big wallets). Bumper inserts. Back seat width. Middle restrain anchor point. High hipline.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Mazda 6 is a very comfortable, stylish and easy to drive. I love it give me ease and feeling of safety whenever I drive it and when my little girl is with me. It is roomy enough for passengers to feel at ease and comfy and not feel suffocated. the Climate control aircon makes it easy to adjust the temperature during travels and the cruise control feature is also a good thing specially when it is a very long drive. It is a well rounded car that looks elegant enough and sporty enough. We love a 6 wagon and could not have asked for anything better. It was a replacement for our horrible ford territory
(2005 model) Great looker, nice interior finish, stacked with features such us climate control and 6 stacker CD player. Even that its a small wagon still has big boot. With seats down i fitted to flat packed bunk beds from IKEA in the boot. Great sounding engine for 4 cylinder and engine never struggles with extra weight over standard 6. Comfortable seats even with 3 people in the back seat. Safety is great to with 6 airbags and TSC. Amazingly great handleing even for a front driver plus a wagon. Good fuel ecconomy too

Mazda 6 is owned by all my cousins and myself. We love the car so much we just recommend it to everyone and think this car cudnt get better. We saw all the cars in the market before buying the Mazda 6 hatchback and when we actually bought it the first thing my partner said, this has a big boot to handle the suit cases and kids prams :) I love Mazda...very very loyal customer.
I love this car. I own a mazda 6 sport model myself and I simply love the car. It is really smooth even at the speed of 110 Km/hr.
NOTHING....I love my mazda :)

OK
I loved this car, like a past lover it served it's purpose at the time and taught me a lot about how vain I was about sports cars and men! It drove well, looked great and people stared in envy. However if you want to be really safe, don't buy one. There is a 'black spot' because it is a hatch (I'm sure this was one of the reasons I had an accident in mine). A lovely car, but for the price I think you can do better.
sleek, sexy and smooth
not very comfortable, and difficulty with a 'black spot' due to the hatch

Hi I have a 2007 wagon it's due a timming belt at 300000 I'm just wondering what the life of these belts really are? Do I have to change it?

They have a timing chain, not a belt. It should last the life of a properly maintained motor
