great tyre so far
bought these to replace bridgestones on my mazda 3, after being told they were worth the extra money. Well that seems true enough. 195/65/15 for $133 each incl balanceis not too pricey + a $50 eftpos card from Jax. great in wet, much quieter than bridgestone B250 or supercats, maybe even a bit more economy (from 7.4 l/100 to 7.2 l ). No complaints so far
Now done 45000km, perhaps another 15000 left. Still quiet, and good in wet and quiet. No complaints

Pretty good
I have recently upgraded my tyres to xm2.
I can feel the excellent control and grip over dry and wet compare to my old cheap budget tyre. My old tyres has no wet grip at all and that's why I needed to get better ones. I was expecting better fuel consumption but no noticeable change on that. Overall, I think they are pretty good.

Ticks all the boxes
These tyres are so much better than the Bridgestone RE92s that came with my V6 Camry I'm sticking with them even though they are 25% more expensive than Conti's 4 for price of 3 offer. Got 60,000 out of them and not down to the check mark yet. Only compared to 50K for the RE92s. Much better handling AND FAR SUPERIOR in the wet. My car has racked up 300 K's without missing a beat in all conditions including highway, gravel, off road through paddocks, cane fields, creeks etc and I swear by these tyres.

quieter than Pirelli P1
I had a set of Michelin XM2's on my Toyota Aurion Prodigy and replaced them with a set of Pirelli P1's. I'm not sure of the mileage on the Michelin's because they were on the car which I bought second hand. I've travelled 15000k on thePirelli's and I'm fairly happy but the Michelin's were definitely a more comfortable tire. In all other respects I find them similar but for ride alone I will purchase Michelin's next time. The ride really is so much more comfortable.

Good wearing tyre and a good all-round tyre
These tyres were standard fitment on my Citroen C4 Seduction e-HDI EGS turbo diesel. I’ve travelled 51,000kms with them so far and this was mainly in city/suburban driving and some on highways, I haven’t done any dirt driving so I can’t tell how they perform there. These tyres have worn very well and I think they still have at least 15,000kms worth of tread left on them before I have to replace them. They brake well, are faultless in the wet and around corners, they don’t squeak when pushed hard and I’ve only had 1 puncture with them due to a s...Read more
elf-tapping screw imbedding itself into the front left tyre. The tyre is a just a little noisy on highway cruising when driving on that course pebbled paved roads that most of our highways are paved with but on the smooth paved roads they are faultless and very quiet. I am very satisfied with them and they have given me superior service as a tyre of this high quality should. But one thing is that they are expensive when they go for $189 to $199 per tyre. I’m in the process of looking for a new set if I can find a tyre that is just as good but at a lower price, if not, then I would wait and grab these at the first chance when I see them on special anywhere.Similar opinion? Noisy and increased fuel consumption - don't believe the hype
These tyres are by far the most noisy I have ever owned. My fuel consumption in the first 10,000kms has gone up 1.5 litres per 100 (was 8.2 - now 9.7) with pretty much same driving patterns. Even turning at a roundabout at normal speed, you can hear the tyres screeching!
Noisy, increased fuel consumption

Love these tyres
Fitted a set on my Avalon (size 205x65/15) in December 2012, replacing Falken ZE-912s. Done just over 16,000 km and they've been excellent! They are quiet on coarse-chip roads and handle very well in the wet and dry. Best of all, they're not too soft and show minimal wear. A big improvement over the Falkens that wore out in about 23,000 km of comparable driving!
Quiet, good price, durable. Great cruising tyre.

Stopped in the wet
Had a guy decide to stop in front of me, as soon as the lights went 'orange' on an 80kmh major highway.
We were both doing 80 km/h.
The road was semi-wet, i didn't really have a huge gap between me and him.
These tyres saved me from running into the back of this imbecile driver, tyre handling was excellent,
brakes never locked up at all.
Only Michelin Energy tyres for me from now on! ...Read more
They'll keep you safe from bad drivers, causing you to break suddenly. Thanks Michelin Man! :-) Quality rubber, slow to wear, good in wet!1 comment

Huge improvment on supercats
These tyres replaced 215/60R16 Supercats on a 2008 Toyota Camry. Improved handling and no more wheel spin on take offs especially in the rain. .Quiet as well on the motorway. Have travelled around 2,000 kms so far and happy with the XM2's although have not found greatly improved fuel economy.
Handling and safety.
No great improvement to vehicle fuel economy

VERY MUCH SATISFIED
QUIET AND SOFT WITH 36psi, WHAT ELSE DO U WANT.
Using it on my Toyota Aurion in 215/60/R16
Not tested yet in wet conditions how ever over all road grip is much better as compared to my previous tyres, Recommend to always change all 4 tyres rather than 2 in pairs.
QUIET SOFT, VALUE FOR MONEY, AFTER ALL ITS MICHELIN
NOTHING

Don't believe the 'Energy' hype any more
Bought a Previa in early 2010 with 50%-worn Michelin Energy XM1+ tires. Unbelievably good in the wet, ride good, handling like on rails and didn't wear out for another 3 years! Tried to get XM1+ again in March but could only get XM2 as the XM1s had been 'superseded'. Why do companies screw around with perfection? The XM2s have a different tread pattern (much larger central grooves) meaning they are noisier, the sidewalls aren't as stiff meaning the handling is spongier - not good for a people-carrier - ie. roll oversteer (this means wet cor...Read more
nering is far less confident) unless I put 40psi in them. They also 'drag' more. By looking at how the tread is wearing so far, I can tell straight away they won't last anywhere near as long as the XM1+. Better ride (but over some surfaces reacts more harshly than soft tread and sidewalls would suggest), slightly lighter steering Due to soft sidewalls the handling in dry and wet is no longer 'crisp', roll oversteer, noisier, greater drag (higher fuel consumption and wear)Similar opinion? Great grip!
These tyres replaced the original factory Yokahamas on our 2nd (small) car. Size is 185/65/14.
When purchased I told the tyre fitters I wanted two things: quietness and long wear. I don't really care so much about grip, looks etc.
After driving a few thousand kilometres on them here are my thoughts.
They're quiet, but not particularly so - I've had Bridgestones and Goodyears that were quieter. But they are quieter than the Yokahamas they replaced.
The steering feel is a bit wooden - the Yokahamas were better in this respect - but the actual steering response is excellent.

XM2 not good as XM1 in Wet
I had a set of Michelin Energy XM1s in my commodore for last 60,000km and they were fantastic in wet and dry. Given XM1s are no longer made i thought i give XM2s a try. However after driving 2000km on XM2 they are not good as XM1s in wet. Guaranteed wheel spin at traffic lights in wet/ or going up a hill. Only good thing about XM2 is they are less noisy on the road than XM1s for sure.
Less noise
not so good in wet

Couldn't be happier
After having 205 65 R15 XM1s on my Nissan Maxima since December 2005, my mechanic who had just replaced my brake pads for the first time since new, told me that I probably was getting down to my last 5,000k with those tyres.
I started to shop around and when I received "an offer that I couldn't refuse" from Bob Jane T-mart in Geelong, where I had my previous set fitted, I had 4 new XM2s fitted. My XM1s were very satisfactory, but, I noticed an immediate difference with virtually no road noise.
We have since done several trips to...Read more
the same place, over 120kms each way, and I am particular in watching our fuel consumption and I can assure you that where I was getting just under 11kms per litre with the XM1s, I clearly got 12.5Kms per litre with the new tyres. Now this is a 15 y.o. 6 cylinder Nissan Maxima and we drive to the speed limit and my overall reaction to these new tyres is extremely positive. Certainly the lack of any road niise and their apparent energy efficiency. Also got an outstanding deal from Bob Jane T-Mart.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Different class
I replaced a set of Pirelli's with the Michelin Energy XM2 and noticed the difference immediately. It's very noticeable how much smoother the ride is and the handling is fantastic. There is also a big drop in tyre noise. Don't get me wrong, the Pirelli's were pretty good tyres, but these are just so much better all round. My fuel consumption has been better and the tread seems to be wearing pretty well, so this is shaping up to be money very well spent. Definitely worth the extra few dollars.
Smooth ride, quiet and responsive handling

Effortlessly Glides on the road and excellent braking distance
Just got rid of Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres because it was almost 70% gone and had only done only 17,000 KM. I drive mainly in inner city Sydney and occassional freeway/highway driving.
I Got four Micheline XM2 because I read the reviews here regarding XM1+'s durability, safety and milage. As soon as I drove off the tyre store with New XM2's I could feel the difference. Steering was light and drive was effortless. Car just glide on the road without excessive acceleration. Most importantly braking response is as good as Dunlop Fast Response. I nee...Read more

life for these tyres. I hear noise when cornering in car park concrete surface only; not in black topped roads. I had a couple of wheel spins in wet road; not sure whether it's due to tyre design issue or, my own driving habit but braking is still very good; haven't had any accident with these tyres on which is good.Similar opinion? Is this tyre is directional?
2 answers
No, they aren't. Which means they're easily rotated.
They are Directional tyres, their construction have a tread designed to rotate in only one direction and can't be mounted in any other way. They are also called "unidirectional" tyres. Directional tyres will have an arrow with the word "rotation" on the sidewall (which these have) showing the proper rotation direction. The function of directional tyres is that they have lateral grooves in the tread that form a V-shaped tread pattern. The tread design is intended to channel water from the center of the tyre outward as the tyre rotates. That is about what directional tyres are and they can be rotated!
