There's a lot to like about this dishwasher, but buyers should be aware of an infrared light problem if there's an overhead light above the dishwasher. When the door is open, the dishwasher power button will not come on if there's an overhead light. When the technician came out to assess the problem, he called the Miele service dept and was told that this is a known issue -- that the technology is such that if there's a light above the dishwasher, the electronic buttons (including the power button) will not be operational. Solution: run the dishwasher when the overhead light is off. It would be nice if Miele included this info in their operating instruction booklet.

I had been hoping that this model would be terrific. I should have stuck with my Bosch dishwasher. Poor drying and needs to serviced far too often. For the price, it was a massive fail for me.
