Hi Lesley. Our machine had that problem, it turned out to be a failure of the panel. I can only suggest you turn it off at the wall for 5 minutes then back on again. If the panel is still unresponsive, give Miele a call.

I just bought Miele washing machine WDD030 last week. My question is about softener.
There is always remaining softener in the container and is inconvenient that I have to clean it after every use.
I had Bosch before and never has that problem

Hi looking at updating my 16 yr old miele which has served our family of 7 well for 16 years but starting ti rust underneath. I have a Novotronic W310 which i use the quick wash cycle on often. This cycle does a great job for most lightly soiled clothes and takes 38 min. Is there a similar cycle on the WDD 030.

Certainly is and it's only 20 minutes plus you can choose temperature and spin speed.

Yes there is a quick cycle for lightly soiled clothes and it’s 30 minutes or can be 20 minutes if you want to shorten the wash as the machine has a button to press which is called ‘short’ should you wish to shorten the time on any load.
I might just note that there is only one rinse cycle on the short load not the usual three so keep the powder or liquid to a minimum
I’ve used it quite a lot on the 20 minute cycle and have had no issues with the result.

Hello, I have paid for this machine, will receive next week. I have a query with regard to the cold water only connection .. can it be connected to hot water tap also or do I need to rely on internal heater of the machine?

The WDD030 has only one inlet hose, and it must be connected to the cold water. The machine does its own heating.
If you have it connected to the hot water, you will be unable to get a cold wash, and you will void the warranty.

I have a Miele washing machine (model WDD030 bought 3 days ago).
This morning I found the machine unresponsive after I did a couple of loads. I was not able to switch on the machine moving the knob and the control panel will not light up.
I have checked the power by using other power points and also plugging other appliances into those power points - all OK.
With the tests I conducted, only two conditions provokes a reaction from the machine:
1. If the machine is detached from the power and the drum door is closed, when I insert the plug into the power socket, I hear a clear beep, however the Leds of the Control Panel stay off and the machine remains dead.
2. If I turn the control knob on nothing happens but when I turn it back to neutral there is a clear beep.
The machine also has a very bad rubber smell.
This is the first Meile I have purchased so at this stage I'm not very happy.
What can I do. It's xmas and I don't have a washing machine.....

I'm planning to buy so i have read the manual. Can i adjust the temperature to 50 or between 60 to 90? it's seems that 20, 30, 40, 60 & 90 are the only adjustable temperatures. Right?

Hi, the WDD030 does not have that capability, the temperatures in the display are fixed. The next model up WCE330 does have the facility to change the temperatures in increments of 10C. Kind regards, Jack.

I downloaded the manual and it is unclear whether I can use the cottons program and set it to cold as well as with extra rinse, and spin on 1400. Is this possible? I need extra rinse and 1400 spin and cold wash.

Installed my new miele machine today following instructions to the letter. Ran the initial program with machine empty and without detergent, water only. After about 3 hours the machine started beeping and flashing F 11 warning. The control panel was unlit apart from the error so 'Start/Stop' not displayed and only option was to turn off power by returning knob to 12 o/clock position. Where to from here? HELP!!

Should water remain in the drain filter compartment, does it need cleaning and how do you do it?

Yes it does but I empty it out using a small oven tray to collect the water. I wipe it out a let it dry as I only use my machine once or twice a week a i think that the less water left in the less chance of mould growing. I also wipe out the soap insert a the inside a let it dry out. 2 yrs a no mould or smell. Wkb 130. Do not forget the rubber around the door a to leave the door open a little bit. Also the best spin speed for towels a other garments is 1200. Boristoes soap powder is the best to use a you do not need fabric softner a it has no chemicals or fillers. Very gentle on your skin, nothing to irritate you. You can do both hot or cold washes. You can find boristoes on sale a sometimes half price in Woolworths a Coles.

After a wash and rinse and final spin, the clothes are still warm. Shouldn't the final rinses be cold water and the clothes cool after the cycle?

Hi Vic, why would you want hot water cycle to turn cold?
Just use the the cold cycle for this, it works just as well. You can even speed it up if you want to.

As far as I know of there's no end of the cycle chime.
You may check how long the cycle is and set the alarm on your mobile phone.
No chime thank goodness. My dishwasher chime is annoying, especially at night.

Hi Wes, Liquid starch can cause the siphon to become clogged. Make sure that you clean the siphon and siphon tube particularly thoroughly after using liquid starch a few times. If you refer to page 46 of the manual, it will take you through the steps to clean it. Hi there, you can cancel a program at any time after it has started. Touch and hold the Start/Stop sensor until the time display switches to 0:00. The water will be pumped away, and once the lock symbol goes out, the program is cancelled and the door opened. Kind regards, Miele.

Had Miele WDD030 front loader delivered this morning. Smell of oil or similar very strong. Ran the initial wash without clothes or detergent as required then a hot wash, over 3 hours and the smell is still there and on my washed clothes. Sales person said to put vinegar in but this still did not get rid of the smell. It has made the whole house smell. Please some advice.. Surely this is not normal?
