Broken after 2 weeks!!! Assured it s a good machine by service agent despite the fact that they can't fix it! Advised the circuit board might faulty and would take a few weeks to get a new one but they won't quite sure what the problem was??. I am still waiting for miele to contact me. But they won't quite sure what the problem was?? Terrible machine terrible service wish I had bought an Asko. Previous asko was 15 years trouble free!

Fantastic washer
Had this for a few months now and love it. Does 1600RPM and it's very quiet for that speed. Washes really well. Has 24hour timer which works well. Controls are touch based and work really well. Much quieter than our old LG. Lots of different cycles.
Expensive but worth it for premium quality and always good washing results. Very happy.

Quiet and worth the money
We've only had our washer for a short time, but it does a fantastic job of washing our laundry. It has handy settings like pre-ironing your clothes (although how well it works is debatable), delay start and auto load sensing so that if the drum isn't full, it only use the water and energy needed to do the smaller load. It's also very quiet, which is a vast improvement on the old Electrolux we had. That thing sounded like a jet taking off when it was on its final spin cycle.

Was fine - til it broke!
Yes I've had it for 6 years - no real complaints until now except perhaps didn't pull enough water at spin and possibly responsible for holes I continue to find in my t-shirts (the wash is so damn long) BUT it it now broken (possibly due to tachometer possibly mother board was gone, Miele technician could given me definitive answers except it would cost st least $800 to fix).
With any other brand I wouldn't complain but for the cost of purchase and the "quality German Engineering" sales pitch I got - with the implication that the machine would...Read more

Very bad !
The drum dirty is left over ! Many fluffs stay in the drum and puts onto the black dresses !He is washing the dresses very rudely. Quasi without water his front. The dresses are stretched out! I do not recommend Miele! Onto washing incongruent. But quiet, he does not have more benefits !I regretted that I bribed it very much.

Best machine I have had, cannot compare to past machines.
Clothes come out fresh and clean every time. It is quiet and does not move around and sticks to the time on the counter. The 20 minute wash time is the best I have had on a front loader and adjusting the different times for the need is a great extra.

Money well spent!
This machine washes muddy clothes to delicate baby clothes leaving them looking like new! Money well spent. I use the Miele fabric softener along with Omo sensitive liquid and have not had an issue.
Is so quiet, I love that it is so simple to use yet does an amazing job!

Great washer very quiet
Very quiet and can do a quick 20 minute load, the only negative is it doesn't have a lot of cycle options, my last one was a samsung and it had heaps of options, you could bedding, this one is very basic, i find myself using the 20 minute cycle most of the times. very sturdy.

Great washing machine, best for family household
Both mine and my husband's parents have been using Miele for years, so it was easy for us to decide on to look for when we moved out.
It cleans our clothes really well, spins the clothes so well that sometimes I couldn't even tell if it has been through the wash unless I take it out of the machine/
It's not loud at all, and it notifies you when the wash has been completed. One of the best feature is the 'shirt wash' - it goes through a warm/hot cycle to minimise the creases on the shirts.

Second time Miele WM purchase
Replaced my eleven year old W1213 last week. Whilst still going strong (and new owner delighted) we thought it was an ideal time to upgrade, without the time-pressure of sourcing a replacement of a dead machine. Reviewed the market, keeping an open mind, looked at all brands, spec sheets and user feedback. In the end all collated information pointed us back to another Miele. First impressions, after a dozen or so loads of washing has been super impressive. As a family of three, who does not generate any significantly soiled clothing, we find t...Read more
he Express Wash 20 minute cycle hits the spot for the bulk of our laundry. Clothes (particularly whites) are appearing exceptionally clean and, compared to the old W1213, with much less creasing. Installed the machine myself and needed to get the levels (leg adjustments) spot on to keep the machine from shaking on the 1600 spin cycle. Hopefully this new machine has the longevity of it's predecessor and gives us many years of trouble-free service.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Expensive Mistake
Miele's big marketing strategies for their washing machines are (1) gentle on clothes and (2) they last 20 years. - well not this machine - it is hard on clothes. The washing powder disappears after the first 5 minutes of washing and then the cycle goes on for 2 - 3 hours on a cotton cycle with no washing powder. If Miele gloat their washing machines will last 20 years why would Miele send in the mail (after purchase) after spending $1,999.00 on their washing machine a further expense 0f $249.00 to extend the warranty from 2 years to 5 years. If Miele stand by their product this offer suggests otherwise. I am extremely unhappy with my purchase and I will probably never purchase another Miele product again.

Second one.
My last Miele lasted sixteen years, and still cranked away until the new one arrived. Great, outstanding machine. Excellent wash selections. In comment to the one star comment somewhere, you must read the INSTRUCTION MANUAL. And go back to it on occasions for a refresher and update on tips etc. Your must run the machine every month, with no clothes, and little soap on high temp with the final spin turned off. I add a cup of vinegar to the final rinse also.

Mistake
My experience with purchasing a Miele washing machine for the first time was a big mistake. It is an expensive piece of "junk". I went to use the washing machine after having it for a few months and the machine said "call service". I waited 2 weeks for a technician to repair the washing machine. The technician was pleasant and diagnosed the problem as "the washing machine requiring to be cleaned" by running a "Cottons" programme with no clothing in the machine. With nearly every question I asked him, his response was...it's all in the booklet s...Read more
o go and read it. The clothes washing options are "confusing" or "ridiculous" and all my neighbour's washing machines work better than my brand new Meile. I am not happy at all with my purchase and my neighbours are not impressed also with Meile.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great Machine but Strange Wash Times -
Apologies, I assumed the product number and got it wrong. Corrected above.
We owned an Asko which broke down after ONLY 17 years of being used most days, so it was with some trepidation that we bought the Miele.
The shock of going from a 45 min wash time to 1hr:40mins (approx.) was a shock and although the Miele people explained the reasons why it is like that, it is still a long time to wait to hang out washing. In the morning you cannot wait that time, then hang out clothes if you have to go to work.
Our solution was to do much of our ...Read more
washing on the Express 20 setting with the short wash button turned off which gives us a 30 min wash. This is fine for lightly soiled clothes and then we keep the stuff that needs a serious wash until the weekend. A great pity that Miele did not allow a program change to adjust the wash time for the Express wash to 40-50 mins as it would cover 90% of our washing requirements.Similar opinion? Absolutely Amazing
Well I had a Whirlpool top loader that lasted 13 years - getting more and more linty clothing from it with every wash, so was desperate for a washer that actually cleaned clothes, and after buying a Miele dishwasher (after never having a dishwasher before) and being very impressed with everything about it, decided to go with the Miele W1. Got it for a good price being a Miele for life member and with a voucher as well. The spin is amazing - so well engineered that it can spin so fast and the machine is so quiet and still. Everything comes out clean - cycles easy to navigate..6 months later and I'm still very happy with it.

Perfect if you enjoy untangling your clothes
It works overall well, and makes very little noise compared to other models I have owned before. However, the big, most irritating problem (which I never encountered before on any of my washing machines) is that "long" pieces of clothes (sheets, or even shirts) tend to get tangled. Occasionally, it can take several minutes before I can put shirts apart because their sleeves got "knotted" together. For a machine that costs almost twice the price of competition, this is simply not acceptable. Avoid.

So far, so good. Well worth the money.
Cleans and rinses very good.
Too early to tell with clothes wear-out, but seems gentle on washing.
Very quite.
Economical with water and energy usage. Easy to use. Offers many options.
High speed cycle very well balanced.
Great for small loads with reduced water levels.
Turns itself off when finished washing.

The best so far
We have three Miele machines - and this one is one of the best. We did loved our AEG but that was 20 years ago. The best thing about Miele, apart from their engineering, is the customer service.
This washing machine is great. It has all the extra bells and whistles we need for a good wash. I don't mind that it takes more than 2 hours to wash an 8kg load - it does it thoroughly and is the only machine that rinses the clothes properly. I don't understand the complaints about this product - the quality is excellent.

to easily choose the various options for a wash, as well as the lack of noise. I can easily move between interrupting a load, cancelling a wash, adding more clothes, etc. It's fantastic, and I highly recommend this one.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

W1 is a very good machine
Clothes are Always clean and fresh. The soft care drum does not wear-out your laundry. Because the machine is so efficient cycle times are longer. I use mostly the short option ( available on almost every program ). the machine is very quiet even when spinning. The machine has 4 water levels for good rinse results, you can also ad an extra rinse in all programs.

Brilliant results
The Miele washing machine is so well made and the results are amazing. I don't know why I didn't buy a Miele sooner. The quality is what you get, and you get what you pay for. The number of easy to use programmes deliver specific washing cycles for the type of clothes or soiling that I want to clean. especially my business shirts or sweaty gym gear. Just brilliant cleaning results.

How much did this machine cost in 2017
1 answer
Hi there. on 17 March 2017 we paid $1849 for the equivalent model. We had to replace it in September 2018 because of floods and the new model WKG130 cost us $1999 which included some detergent. Not sure if this helps.

Hi Tanya, the washing machine display, has switched off automatically to save energy. The display will return, when you press the (On/Off) push button. This feature can be turned ‘off’, as per instructions in the ‘Settings’ section of the operating manual. (pg. 73-75.) Kind regards, Joel.
