2010 Diesel 6 speed ASX
I love this car. Lots of torque from the diesel. 6L/100Km on the highway. 8 L/100Km towing a 750Kg boat.First gear is really low which is great for towing. but painful in city traffic.
I wouldn't recommend this car for stop/start city driving. I'd use it to go around Australia if it could carry more on a roof rack. I bought a full size spare wheel (from a wrecker).
The standard Dunlop tyres are too noisy on the highway. Pirelli P1 tyres are great on it. Reversing visibility is poor up close - fit a reversing camera
Economy, torque, style
Space saver spare tyre, Seats feel a bit hard after 2 hours driving. Maximum roof rack all-up weight of only 50 Kg

Further info = now done 80,000Km and now towing a 1.2 tonne boat rig (with trailer brakes). Top speed on level highway is 90Km/Hr and fuel consumption is 9L/100Km. Original battery recently failed (af... Read more
ter 5 years) without warning, so don't stop the engine on the boat ramp with an incoming tide. CD stacker now only operates 1 CD - considering replacement unit.
Further info - now done 86,000Km and discovered that the speedo is reading 7% low. When travelling at 100Km/Hr indicated, it's actually doing 93Km/Hr. Highway fuel consumption is averaging 6.0 L/100Km. Still loving this car.

Love my new ASX!
My 2011 Mitsibishi ASX is the 3rd car I've owned and I love it! Previously I owned VW Golfs and thought I would never drive anything else but can't believe how much I love my ASX. It's super comfortable, simple dash, smooth ride, super tight turning circle, economical, easy to park - I just love it. I was a little concerned about the noise associated with the CVT in the auto but it's fine and I'm starting to really enjoy it. I am truly surprised there are not more of them on the road!
Comfortable, Economical, Fun to drive!
Only negative is the sound system although it's quite good I was spoilt in the Golf by an amazing stereo!

Ive noticed there is constant noise with the CVT, which only goes when you brake. Is this the noise you mean? (It is faint, but its constant in any gear, until braking, when it goes completely)
Cheers
Generally the CVT noise is fine it's just when you accelerate hard that you notice it but once in gear it's nice and quiet!

The Perfect Fit
My requirements were very clear to me... High ride, wagon space for dog and shopping (not at the same time), comfortable cabin space, fuel efficient 4 cylinder. The ASX is the perfect compact SUV that ticks off everything on my list. I love the snub-nose styling. It looks mean & modern. The CVT is smooth and responsive during acceleration and the added bonuses of Bluetooth & reverse sensors make it easy to drive and park. I've had my ASX for about a month and still love every time I get into it. I'm surprised there's not more of them on the road.

Best Value for Money!
We brought our ASX last November - since then we have driven from Brisbane to Sydney twice and as far as Mackay aswell. excellent fuel economy and such a comfortable car to drive! We did our research and looked at other cars in the small SUV catagory, and the ASX overall was the best value for money, had the better warranty and is so much better shaped and styled, inside and out!! The car is mostly driven by me through the week but on the weekends we can pack up our dog, some camping gear and get away from the city and I think that's the best p...Read more
art - you can fit so much in the back when the seats are down, but it's still perfectly sized for city driving and parking. Pros: Great fuel economy, decent luggage space with seats down, attractive shape and great accessories!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good
This is a great car. We have the ASX Aspire Diesel.
Went on a holiday with it and was averaging 4.7l per 100km. The vehicle itself was a pleasure to drive. Real easy, sat nav was good we fit all our luggage in plus my golf clubs with the back seat down. Only con is it doesn't have a cd stacker. But it has iPod connectivity. Good buy.
Great size. Great features. Great Fuel economy. All round great car!
Boot size is smaller than other SUV's, but it's a compact SUZ so you need to expect that. And no CD Stacker!

Excellent
Very good car, excellent fuel economy easy to drive and never had any problem with this car in my last 7 months of driving. Moreover the shape of the car is also very attractive.
I am having Automatic Petrol 2WD and the fuel economy is excellent, I am getting 7.1L/100Km on long trips. Even on busy city driving I am getting something between 7.4L - 7.8L /100Km. Moreover it is very easy to drive and a good looking car.
Nothing at all, I am driving this car for the last 7 months and I never had any problem.

Excellent all round car suitable for the busy family.
I purchased my ASX Aspire last year and had it delivered in early January. It is a great car that is easy to park, easy to drive and is very comfortable with lots of great comfort and safety features. I also had the panoramic moon roof installed and it is really fun to drive. Fuel economy is great and I can travel from Geelong to Melbourne twice with ease on return trips. Storage and legroom is ample for a family of 4. and the sound system is excellent. The only problem is the MMCS(Mitsubishi Multi communication system) Whilst travelling you ca...Read more
nnot access the phone, music or sat nav as it shuts down. The sat nav is very out of date and I use my tomtom instead which is much more accurate. I could not get the option to not have it so I'm stuck with it. Paintwork and panels are a bit touchy, so park way away from others in the carparks !! Fuel efficient and very comfortable to drive. Great sound system and reversing camera is handy. MMCS is a bit frustrating.2 comments
Are you still finding the MMCS frustrating? Or have you given up?
I have now found many many things wrong with this car, . Wish I could delete my review. I got the ultimate lemon :-(

If you've got the 4B11 motor 2.0lt, timing chain. I think most of the engines in the range have timing chains from 2010 onwards.

tres (at Supercheap). I've asked about ASX roof racks at specialty stores - my roof is definitely rated to carry no more than 50 Kgs load, including the roof rack, so it can only carry a flimsy alloy roofrack and 1 large suitcase (very disappointing).
