All round perfect car for a large family.
I have the 2005 BA model in metallic purple and the family loves it. It doesn't look that big on the outside but inside is very roomy with more then enough room for 6 adults or 2 adults and 5 kids. Ours currently has 245,000 klms on it and still to date no issues just servicing as normal and has never broken down. Previous owner took it on many interstate trips and we have done the same. Completed a 3500klm holiday in it and is so comfortable for our family of 6. One thing that has always stood out is the handling of the Grandis and the engine,...Read more
it drives like a sports car and handles corners without any issues it is hilarious sometimes. The engine oh that glorious thing, how does a 2.4l feel like a v6 I will never know but it does not lack in power even fully loaded, really impressive unit. Air con is amazing and it is split between front and back, all of the back seats even have their own vent in the roof. Another amazing thing is the cloth seats still to this day 14 years and 245,000klms still have no rips or tears in them, I have 4 young kids too so this is even more amazing. If I was going to nitpick on what I don't like it would be 2 things only, one it does like high octane fuel and will run much better on it then regular unleaded. Two, the stereo head unit was basic, I installed a unit with large screen and rear parking camera and GPS all in one which was far better. Apart from that I cannot complain at all about our Grandis and would happily purchase another one.Purchased in November 2021 for $7,000.00.

Loved our Grandis - excellent 7 seat family car
Our family bought a 2006 base model Mitsubishi Grandis in 2009 and only sold it in late 2018, as we needed a newer car to take on interstate trips. It was a great family car. We used it daily for the school and sport run and it transformed into the beach and holiday car on the weekends.
It was just so practical! The engine was so smooth and the kids loved travelling in it. It had good economy and enough power for overtaking. It could be a bot sluggish on the largest of hills, but that's not what it was made to do.
Servicing costs were about ...Read more

Smoothest Wagon, we love it!
My first experience driving a 2006 Mitsubishi Grandis was three months ago. My wife and I rented this car for ersonal use of taking around some visitors from the USA. Three of these persons were 5'8", 6' and 6'2" respectively. We rented this car again and again just for our family of four going on long distance. Our two sons were able to sleep comfortable during transfers. This car is quick on acceleration, decent braking, firm in corners with one the best suspension systems I have ever experienced. Its sound-system is fabulous and its air-condition system is excellent for a nine year-old car

Love my car!
sadly they dont sell these brand new in AUS anymore and I am sad knowing I wont be able to get a new one when this one is ready for an upgrade :( we bought the 2010 VRX the leather interior is wonderfull I did 3 yrs of research looking for the perfect 7 seater....... this is the one the Honda was sooooo expensive and I honestly was not willing to pay and extra 20,000 for asthetics, everything the honda had the grandis has too. same with toyota too much money for the basic model with the mitsubishi grandis we got the top of the line at the pric...Read more
e of its competitors basic cloth trim crap model. it drives like a dream it has as much grunt as our falcon I was blown away to be honest I really didnt expect it. we can have kids over and not worry about the seat juggle. the rear breaks lights cant be missed unless you are blind, the leg room in the rear seats can accomodate a 6ft male on a long trip, capped price servicing every 15,000 not every 12,000 like its competitors better value long term. 3 tiered climate control is fabulous each seat has aircon even the very back this was important for our dogs in summer I was worried they would get tooo hot. the only thing I wish it had was a mp3 dock and wifi contectivity I dont use my moble in the car anyway and 6 cd stacker is fine. rear windscreen wipers are excellent rear parking sensors faultless love my car! <3 everything nothing to complain about hits the mark on all my needs no wifi connectivity or MP3 docking /USB connectionSimilar opinion? Excellent
Very happy with car and overall performance. Would recommend car to young family, we have 4 kids under 9. Easy to park- love the rear sensors!!
Easy to drive, great visibility, doesn't feel like a "people mover". Third row splits in half, so suitable for large pram. Sufficient space behind 3rd row for groceries, moderate amount luggage or stroller. Easy for children to get in and out of.
Tight squeeze for more than two infant seats.

Good
A very nice package that compares quite favourably against the likes of Honda Odyssey or Toyota Avensis. When looking something for a large family the Grandis is indeed a good car, good fuel economy compared to its class, enough grunt to carry people and luggage, comfortable seating and some extras that make the VRX such a good package eg cruise control, climate control. Love that car.
Nice car to drive and very good handling particularly around corners.
Can carry upto seven adults with relative ease.
Doesn't feel like one is driving a bus.
Poor marketing for arguably a very good package particularly the VRX model.

This is a car that does what it intended to do and that is carry seven people in comfort. Having taken the car on a 1000km trip with three adults and a baby, all were very comfortable. As the driver I was delighted with how the vehicle handled and performed and I particularly found the driver's seat comfortable after two hours at the wheel. The airconditioning in the rear worked very well and ability to adjust it via the roof mounted controls was appreicatied. Well done Mitsubishi for creating a terrific vehicle, why do they not promote it?

Good choice for a people mover
We've got the 2005 luxury version. Got it to take our family of 5, plus the kids' friends or their bikes. we checked out all the other people movers at the time and this came up better than all bar the Mercedes. And at a much better price!
Fuel consumption is reasonable at about 8km/litre (or 12l/100km). Tyre wear is OK and service costs have been affordable.
Seating arrangements are very flexible, there's enough boot space when all seats are in use, and heaps when the back row is folded down.
The car could be more powerful (Kia Grand Ca...Read more

OK
The Mitsubishi Grandis is a practical seven seat people mover. It provides usable room behind the third row of seats, a useful towing ability and five child seat restraint points (handy with big young family). Whilst well equipped with airbags and ABS/EBD being front wheel drive it could really do with ESP. The Grandis whilst being practical is let down by light power steering, only having a four speed auto (thirsty around town) and an engine which whilst powerful for its size is coarse when revved. The audio controls are also difficult to reac...Read more

I love my Grandis. We have 4 children, aged 3 - 16. It drives nice and easy. I think it looks smart too.
This is a great car and I am surprised there are not more of them on the road. Why don't Mitsubishi market them? Most people I know don't even know what a Grandis is.
I can recommend this car. We have the 2005 model with dual sunroof. Drives very smooth. It handles the long runs well too.

Drives like a car, not a bus. Easy to park. Good air conditioning. Economical. All seats have sash belts. I love the automatic folding side mirrors.
Wish they had the radio controls on the steering wheel. They are a bit far to reach while driving. When fully loaded, it can be a bit sluggish.

I had the 2005 model. Had everything you would expect in a 7 seater and more handling was excellent and fuel economy was great to. Great for the family of 4 for long trip with plenty of room and the extra fetures like duel a/c and reading lights all around. Would recomend it as the top people mover just don't understand why Mitsubishi does not give you more options or fit more standard fetures.
Comfort and style by far the best looking people mover!
Transmission is the only disappointing part needs a 5 or 6 speed auto would have better accerlation.
