Excellent
Love it. I've owned Jackeroo's in the past and driven Landcruise for work, but this feels the best to drive both on and off road.
The ride and stability on the road. Excellent room for my small family.
On corrugated dirt roads it can feel like you skid around the bends. The diff-lock lights on the dash can play up if you don't follow all the gear changing procedures exactly, leaving you unsure if the wheels are engaged.

Bad
Mitsubishi have been pretty good getting the car fixed after the bonnet thing but it is a pain not having the car for 10 days. To be fair they are paying for a hire vehicle but it's not kitted up the way my vehicle is - two-way radios, etc. The bonnet clip on the Triton is twice the diameter... That says something. I might buy another of these if they can sort the bonnet thing out. One thing though, I do 90% of my motoring off-road and it has been implied that this plus the fact that the tyres I choose to run are larger than standard has contri...Read more
buted to the bonnet problem. I thought I bought an off-road vehicle! And for what it's worth, the tyres are 3.4% larger in diameter - not exactly a major modification. Diesel has good fuel economy. Roomy enough. Auto trans is great for boggy conditions. Excellent power for overtaking, etc. Priced well for its level of options. Bonnet clip broke off after 35,000km. Bonnet smashed the windscreen and the front of roof as well as destroying itself. Bonnet latch and safety latch both use the same clip on the bonnet so there is no fallback position. My mate's Pajero did the same thing the next day but he noticed the bonnet wobbling and stopped before the bonnet flew open. Road noise is significant too.1 comment

Excellent
A fantastic car that is a must have for any family that likes going on long journeys interstate and the like.
Lots of space for leg stretching during long journeys and the like, very, very, very comfy, afford able and luxurious, a great family car that can suit every member of the family, pleanty of room, and lots of boot space for those journeys to the beach and drive in, can be converted to LPG, affordable family car that makes every family outing or drive feel great. A must have for all families.
Petrol guzzler, leather can be scratched, can be a horroer to clean.

Good
Been extremely happy with the vehicle, towed a caravan more than 20,000km and had no problems.
Converted well to gas and runs cheep on LPG.
Ride is good for a real 4x4. Quiet when cruising. Has been reliable over 144,000km. Good in the sand.
Spark plugs and leads require the manifold to be removed, big cost every 100,000km. Doesn't handle like a Territory.

OK
I would highly recommend it if you don't need to constantly use the third row (ie. seats are folded) hence there would be plenty of room for shopping baskets. Plus third row seats are not very comfortable for adults.
Smooth driving, very comfortable.
Third row seats are too narrow, suitable only for children, especially for lengthy travel. Once third row seats are used, not much room for luggage. Thirsty.
