Stay away - unfair contract terms and make it difficult to cancel your order, poor customer service
Vic, Tullamarine Outdoor BlindsWill be going to ACCC to report in unfair contract terms that don’t allow you any room to cancel your order.
I realized I could not afford to go ahead with the order for outdoor blinds so called up to try to cancel after 3 days of agreeing to a quote and paying a 10% deposit. Since then I’ve been given the run around. Get told someone will call me back but when they’ve done that they say they’ll investigate and back to me but don’t and I have to keep calling every 2nd day. Still no resolution to my request after almost 3 weeks.

After dealing with a hard sell in the first instance trying to set up the appointment ( husband has to be present when the consultant visited! - which I nevertheless organised). I got the confirmation phone call a couple of days before the appointment. One of the questions I was asked was - “would I be able to provide a yes or no answer at the appointment”. Obviously my answer was no as I wanted a quote. The operator then asked me if they could then follow up after 2 weeks. I am in
... Read moresales myself - to me that means once I get the quote, can they follow up in 2 weeks. I said that would be fine. If they were rescheduling the appointment I would assume I would be given a new time and date. The original day arrives, my husband arranged to be home. The agreed time comes and goes. I call because the consultant hasn’t arrived. I am told that the 2 week follow up was a rescheduled appointment because they don’t do quotes. They want to give the last one after we have spoken to all the other companies out there. The telephone consultant wouldn’t listen, speaking over me to the point that I had to ask her to please listen as I thought I was the customer in this instance. If this is how it all begins without even getting these people in the door - perhaps they should consider whether they have indeed grown “too big” to where they have lost touch with their customers. Terrible communication, a terrible experience. I have just cancelled - not worth it.

Vic, Tullamarine Outdoor BlindsHad Blinds and Roller Shutters Fitted took ages to install came back over 12 weeks to finish job, the contractor who did installation wrecked my Cooldek Patio drilled holes in post, left bolts out of roof to fit the blinds, crooked fittings, left crap all over the place for my dog to eat and if i did not pick it up it would have killed the dog, fitted them in the wrong place and now the integrity of the engineering of roof is at risk also
We rang them and [Name Removed] was rude and talked over me they apologised and said this never happens

Transformation of the home

Good Service
Vic, Tullamarine Outdoor BlindsHave had some shutters already for the last 4 years and good so far. Coming from Europe, most houses there have them so just emulating what we are used to. While the service/follow-up is good I do question the sales tactic, which seems so typical of Australia and takes the gloss of the purchase.
Instead of having a price list or at least coming up with a believable price from the get go there is a lot of spiel about VIP customers and getting a special discount etc. In the end had to come up with a price I was prepared to pay, well below the "RR

Love my security shutters
Vic, Tullamarine Outdoor BlindsI replaced my tired looking awnings with security shutters from the Modern Group. I was extremely satisfied with the service they offered. They were punctual, pleasant and very professional. The security shutters have made the front of the house so much neater.
I was so pleased with the shutters on the front of the house that I am now getting Modern Group to quote me for some on the back windows

Terrible service
Vic, Tullamarine Outdoor BlindsThe sales man pressures you into making a decision at the time of the quote. Gives a ridiculously high price and then knocks thousands of dollars off but you must commit on the spot. Makes promises that are not followed up on. After payment is made the customer service is terrible. Installation was booked in for a time and they arrived hours earlier, resulting in appointments having to be cancelled to go home.

Incompetent company
Vic, Tullamarine Outdoor BlindsHad a great sales guy come out and give us a quote and measure up the space. Was told a second guy had to come out and confirm measurements, then after 2 failed appointments with them not showing up, someone finally came over and measured up. When the blinds were finally ready to be installed they were all the wrong size.
Extremely disappointed and after speaking to the manager he decided it was best to not remake the blinds as they would be out of pocket by about $7k.
Worst company I've dealt with in a long time. Now to move on and find a more competent company to deal with.
