New to Moto Guzzi and loving it
I recently bought my low k's 2012 Stelvio NTX from a gent who found it too tall for him. In summary, I love it and really enjoy the riding experience. It handles very well in most road situations, is comfortable on long journeys and the ride position (upright) is excellent for me. The build quality is high, and the NTX model is packed with features like a 32 litre fuel tank, ABS, traction control, 12v power outlets (two!), three stage heated grips, barkbusters, tall windscreen, fog lights, crash bars, big and robust aluminium panniers that...Read more
don't suffer with small marks/scuffs, good pillion seat......the list goes on! June 2015 update: in the 12 months since the first review, I have done 20,000 k's on the Stelvio. I still love it, even with the inevitable things that crop up with sustained use. Some things to note: the fog light wiring provided some challenges, including shorting out a main fuse when bare wiring made contact with metal on the light housing. Solution: get a low amp intermediate fuse installed on the lights, and have the wiring on the lights resheathed before they perish. The windshield provided some wind buffeting problems (solution, screen height extender, suggest MRA, Givi or Laminar Lip) and the fuel warning light comes on at least 140 k's before you are getting anywhere near empty. That aside, the Stelvio has been a great tourer (including through the Australian Alps in challenging conditions) and the engine in classic MG fashion has just become better and better the more k's are clocked up. Highly recommended and no regrets about the purchase. The engine has heaps of torque and grunt, and the MG bling on the bike is nice as well Not a bike for folks of shorter stature. I am 183 cm and I can just get both feet on the ground at standstill. MG owner manual is a challenge to read (very small print) and not always clearSimilar opinion?
