Wouldn’t turn on

When it was working. All good. Now it’s decided not to turn on at all, I get the orange light when charger plugged in but can’t get past the accept button as it freezes. Then if I push the back button the screen goes blank and I can’t get any response at all. This issue was apparently due to a faulty charger cord. They seem to be specific to Navman as another cord plunger to USB would not respond. Navman fixed the issue under warranty. I’ve had Navman devices my whole life and this is the first issue I have had. If this wasn't sorted I would have never wanted to buy one again. Thank you for your help.

I agree with Allan about the brightness of the screen during the day time. I also have the problem of the warnings reference railway crossing and red/speed camera lights after the fact of going through or over the tracks. The messages aren't announced before the fact.. I'm really not impressed with this unit compared to my last one which was a EZY 260LMT

The GPS basic functions are good.
However the two negatives are:
1. the map font size for street names is quite small and difficult to read.
2. the LCD display is not intense enough during the day, this is due to glare when mounted on the windscreen.

I just bought a Navman MY580 and can't find an option to change the map settings, except zooming in slightly and changing the colour scheme. Every other GPS I've ever had has allowed me to zoom in to the view from the driver's perspective (not sure what this setting is called), but this one only seems to have a bird's eye view setting. If there is a different map setting available, can you please tell me where it is?

Unfortunately, your device only has bird's eye view. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

You may want to set the map view to 2D or 3D instead. to do this, kindly go to Settings > Map display > Map

Contact Navman, the tech support will guide you through some troubleshooting to fix it over the phone, otherwise they will ask you to send it to them for repair (if it is still under warranty). In case you're required to send it to them, then my advise to you is DO NOT ship it to them yourself, get the store that you purchased from to do that for you. Good luck!
