We r currently using NAN HA GOLD for our 4 weeks old but from last week or sohe appears Iin pain when passing wind, doesnt get settled after feeds & nappy change and vomits up milk mostly after every week and only burps once in a while. We have him on Breast Milk and Formula top ups.
We r considering trying NAN Comfort, Nurture Orignal or the ALDI Gold brand. Which one would u recommend is best to try first? Any other things v sould try like gripe water or colic aid etc....

NAN Comfort is definitely the best in my opinion..
I've used a lot of different formulas and read a lot of forums, NAN comfort is known to help babies with wind and constipation.
It's been perfect for my baby and would recommend it to everyone.

I would try nan comfort first as your already using nan brand so measuring will be the same and this formula is definitely gentle on bubs tummy. If after a couple of weeks you don't see a difference you could try Heinz Nuture original or gold which are both great formulas (my bubs loves the Heinz).

My son has been on Nan Comfort 1 for a few months now and loves it! He's turning 6 months soon so do I need to switch to the Nan Comfort 2? Anyone tried the 2 yet and was it as good?

Hi there, I asked child health nurses the same questions when I had my first baby, they all said that there is no need to change and you can really use stage 1 until they are 12 months old. After you introduce solids, baby will get the extra vitamins, iron, etc. from their meals not just the milk. For example, breast milk doesn't change after bub turns 6 months, it's always the same so there is no need to change formula :) :) They also told me that normally stage 2 formulas are higher in casein which makes bub feel more full but it also tends to cause constipation. Good luck!

Yes I'd definitely give it a try. It was very gentle on my little ones tummy for wind etc, it was just that he needed a thicker formula to slow the vomitting. I chose Nan Comfort as his first formula because of all of the positive reviews about how gentle it was. Good luck!

I'm currently using Karicare Comfort for my 2 month old but I'm having major issues with the formula not dissolving properly and clogging the teat. I want to give Nan Comfort a go, has anyone had any mixing issues with Nan Comfort?

With what ever formula you use you need to make sure you are mixing it at the correct water temperature as well as mixing for long enough. I also bought a formula mixer made by dr browns, it's the best thing ever and mixes the formula perfect.

Nan comfort mixed really well for me, no clumping issues at all. I have used refrigerated water, room temp and warm water and never had lumps.

I am thinking of switching also from NAN HA GOLD 1 to NAN Comfort 1 as my 4 month old seems to be constipated and only passes stool every 4 days. He was on breast milk with a night feed of formula prior. Now he is fully on formula. So far I can see that the NAN Comfort does not have the omegas fats or probiotics ..... Did this worry anyone making the change ?

Hi Samantha, looking at the tin Nan Comfort doesn't seem to have any omega fats however my daughters severe discomfort may have had something to do with the fish oil in the Karicare she was originally on (or so the nurse at the chemist suggested). The nurse also said that Karicare was a lot 'richer' than other formulas. As for the probiotics; Nan Comfort has a probiotic called Lreuteri (specifically for digestion) plus several others.

Hi Katie I was thinking the same thing about the fish oil too. I am going to switch him to comfort and see how he goes as there is no point in giving him the Nan Ha Gold if its not agreeing with him!

I am about to switch from NAN HA gold to NAN comfort because my 9 week old baby seems constipated and looks painful before passing wind or poo. Anyone ever had same experience?? (Switch from NAN HA gold to Comfott)?? And what's the result? I still mixfeed him with breastmilk two or three times a day.

When I changed from breastfeeding to formula I noticed my son only doing one poo a day.. unless it's hard small balls it's nothing to worry about.. Also he still makes a few noises when passing a poo! Babies at this age don't have a fully developed bowel but will improve in time.. maybe give the formula a week to see the affect it has on your baby.. A lot less wind on this formula
