I am addicted to Nicorette mist spray since quitting in 2013, i can not go any were with out it, going away in i have to carry spares...originally it lasted 4 odd days but lately i can not get past 3 so i wonder if the company making it for J+J are putting the full amount in the spay as its sealed away for viewing, the expensive kit it not child proof as i found 2.. 3 year old working it out, drop the price as i note the biggest chemist shop selling it from say $49 to $56 (3 pack) and less often have now due to the Corona virus and people sitting at home using more of it have now put it up to $69.. I feel the demand for it will make twice the profit and i thought it was illegal to profiter or take advantage of the public during a pandemic.. Others now home 24/7 and bored must feel the same, cut the profit and help, why has no other manufacturer tried to market the spray and what other spray etc What flavour is close to freshmint to help cut down on the nicorette, my Dentist can not understand why my teeth are needing fillings from more regular decay...
Shocked by contracting lung cancer now (6 months) i need something for my anxiety not pills but find the cost of mist at $69 is just 2 much to afford. They advertise vitamins at 50% off but never the profit maker, its advertised on TV to stop smoking but has no discount of price..Ebay are advertising 2x2 packs del for $70 and that's 4 sprays not 3 ?????? of course Woolies, Coles and small chemists are selling at the same price all year round and ridiculous as they possible sell 2-10 packs a month..

Is quick mist ment to burn your mouth?

Considering everyone has had the same complaint and it is not being addressed by the company, then yes :(
I try and minimise the burn by spraying on the inside of the cheek. Avoid inhaling through the mouth at the same time for the next 1 minute.

I'm asthmatic and just used the mist, it burnt my mouth and throat and my throat felt like it was closing up causing shortness of breath and increased heart rate. It's now been 40 minutes and it is easing. I can't use gum or tabs as makes me sick and causes increased heart rate. Patches burn skin. Tried tablets from doctors was very I'll. So I'm knackered really. Can't vape as causes coughing. Any other suggestions. Lol

Fresh mint? Ok, its more like acid burn. I bought this and the first spray I tried omfg, my mouth was burning worse than I have ever felt! I'm assuming this is how it works to quit smoking because quite frankly, the only thing I put in my mouth after was ice cold wash towels.

I'm not sure how long it stays in your body but what I do know is it has helped me stay of the cigarette s for 6 weeks early days but I feel so much better. Iv been trying to quit for a long time patches, gum tablets and this is the one thing iv tried that takes the craving away quickly not for every one but it works for me . Hope you have success and it works for you. Pauline

After about 2-3 months of at times excessive use I started to experience continual headaches+sinus conjestion and my anxiety problems increased. Now if if I do not use for 2 days and returned to light smoking, my problems, headaches etc were okay.No ciggs left so back to the nicorette and headaches returned.Headaches are the most common side affect mentioned in a google search. There appears to be quite a mix of chemicals that make up the nicorette spray.Shall be looking for an alternative?.

Can you smoke while using nicorette mist spray?

1 answer
Breebee
Breebee

You shouldn't. The nicorette is a high dose of nicotine that instantly goes into your blood stream through your delicate absorbent mouth walls. so unlike a cig where you can put it out half way through if you think you've had enough, once you spray, you can't go back. And using both can make you unwell. Dizzy and nauseous and shakes. However If I am planning on going out and drinking and know I will be having a few cigs, I just don't use the spray for those few hours while I am out drinking and smoking. Then I use it again once I get home. You might say this detests the purpose of using the spray if I am continuing to smoke but I very easily only need to use the spray in my day to day life. It's the odd occasion where I am having a drink that I simply can not resist the real thing. Otherwise I actually prefer the spray. But I don't see any signs of me ever getting off the spray. I think I am more addicted to that then I ever was to smokes. I have been using one and a half tubes a week for the past 2 years

Wow, you are really addicted to it - not sure how you could shower with it? I don't think they have any other spray products that are similar.

This question was awhile back but for anyone hooked on the spray, try Fishermans Friend Mints (not the lozenge, get the green pack in the lolly aisle). Pop one and pretend you used the spray, it has a similar taste and freshness (I.e., blows your head off).

Hi Jenni,
Only one way to find out Jen !
Chest pains are a concern though. Nicotine can agravate stomich issues,i.e. ulcers. I would get some Zantac from the supermarket and see if that helps. If not. go see your quack. (Quickly)

Thank you for your reply. I have been checked for heartburn, reflux, and heart problems and the only thing my doctor can come up with is that my body can't handle the high dose of nicotine in one hit.

Sorry about the laaaaaaaaaaaate response. Do ya think using a little bit less of whatever NRT you're using may help? The spray is very easy to regulate the amount, with a little practise.

I didn't notice a dry tickling cough with this spray - but then I usually followed the spray with plenty of water. Maybe that might help?
