Totally satisifed with purchase - really good quality product
We bought this seat to replace a Maxi Cosi Micro that we were not satisfied with. The Platinum Pro SICT comes with its own seat protector and installation with ISO Fix is very easy and it is clearly a quality product. We are yet to transition to forward facing however in the rear facing configuration we are allot more confident in our little ones safety than our previous capsule. On top of this, the product clearly transitions to larger sizes and forward facing so we feel our return on investment is good. Last week our little one basically cove...Read more
red the bottom half of the seat in faeces which leaked upwards (who new that was possible) out of his nappy. The lining/seat cover was easy to remove and I threw it in the wash and dried it in the sun and it seems fine. We were tossing up between this and the top of the line infasecure product and chose this on price and also material finish. Interestingly the infrasecure appears to be a slightly better design (kinda of clever one piece unit) where as this unit is multiple connected plastic pieces. Would recommend.

Overall good seat
I found that my kid sweats a lot after sitting even 30 minutes. Not very good with keeping cool cause of their fabric and have found the tightening strap not as great as the maxi cozy brandsl. Easy to pull fabric apart to cleab. But I got this seat only because only of the eruo fix.

My baby loves it
It is such as amazing product I have bought it from the baby kingdom in Alexandria NSW and have been fine. Good quilty for a decent price tag.
It has an adjustable belt for my baby when he grows and the safe and sound technology gives me a piece of mind.

Superior to other seats
Very happy with this product - given 4 stars instead of 5 due to installation issues. Extremely sturdy once installed. Installation was difficult in a dual cab ute - needed an extra strap ($25), but certainly superior to other seats, as it's easy to put the child into/out of restraints. The restraint is easy to use & the release button is quick & easy. The padding/material is very soft & doesn't make the child too hot when in the seat for long periods (unlike the baby capsule that is used - different brand). Great value for money as it caters for ages 0-4 years.

Perfect
Very easy to install. It is very comfortable for the baby and she falls asleep whenever she travels. We are very happy with the brand and would recommend it to anyone. Cleaning is easy as just a quick wipe all it needs. Unlike other brands, Even after installing we still could fit 2 more people.

Works great, our little one has always been a happy, easy to adjust and transfer
Installation: I mainly use ISOFIX and takes moments for bottom straps. Easily adjustable. I'm sure other brands who have ISOFIX are similar.
How comfortable: Very subjective and it's only the second seat that my little one has ever been in (the other a cheapie from Target which is used for very short journey's in a family members car). My little girl is very hard to settle normally at any other time, but in this car seat she usually nods off 5-10 minutes into drive. She tolerates 2-3 hour trips well (been in this seat since she left hospital...Read more
2 days old and is now 13 months and is only ever rear facing). The longest we have been able to keep her happy is 4 hours but she's probably bored and needs a run around. Again I didn't do any other trials of car seats so couldn't use this as a market differentiation or personal recommendation as it's a N=1 trial. When she is awake, she's often happy playing with her feet or toys in the seat for probably an hour or just over. Our little one is sweats in her bed and pram a lot but never seems to be hot in this seat (main car does have a dedicated rear air con unit) and my BMW hatchback has a small area to cool with air-con. Again very subjective, I didn't compare to other seats. Cleaning: Is easy, all parts are removable but it requires the seat to be removed from car to take all the bits off. This is the only car seat I've owned, my little girl manages to smuggle little bits of food under the seat cover which are easily lifted whilst installed to remove. Material is very well made/quality stitching and I see no issue with repeated machine washing. Cons: it's a pretty long seat particularly in rear facing (I'm guessing because of the advertised safety features) and will only fit in middle position of my small BMW if you want to retain use of front passenger seat. Cost - it's the most expensive I could find. I'll admit I fell for perceived safety features, we got a good discount but probably bought on "higher $ = pereceived better safety and probable more comfort". I've got no proof of benefit of the safety features or comfort over other models (see note at bottom). Material doesn't feel stifling but then again I don't sit in it so what would I know. It certainly looks the business.1 comment

Wonderful! Easy to install, adjust & clean - love it!
Very happy with this wonderful seat. Purchased 2.5 years ago and it has been comfortable - my son loves it! Easy to install, easy to adjust as your child grows bigger, luxurious fabric that is easy to clean. Simply cannot fault it so I'm buying another for my second little one due soon ❤️

Amazing quality, never seen better.
A fantastic seat, absolutely love this, as does my baby. You can see and feel the quality in the fabric and design. Worth every cent, and love how it grows with the child. I'll never purchase a different brand again - I only wish I'd bought it for my first child 4 years ago, as my second baby sleeps so soundly - he's just so cosy.

great seat
I love the car seat although my baby hates being strapped in, find it difficult to get the chest strap to fit correctly as she has been using the seat since birth and is now 9 weeks old. On the odd occasion I find it hard to get strap tight enough, the waist strap also digs in her legs, hopefully this will stop as she gets bigger.

Would be ok for winter use. Too hot in summer.
Apparently the newer model has different material which breathes. Everything else on this seat is great other than that my baby has sweat all over her arms from sitting in this seat for a short time. Based on that I wouldn't recommend this baby seat. It would be good to be able to buy an insert to fix this.

Amazing car seat!!
Such a great car seat! Had it professionally fitted as I wasn't too sure on how to fit the isofix and was very happy to hear from the staff member that I had chosen one of or if not the best car seat for safety' ✔️ We changed our little one over from a capsule as she HATED IT and now she is a new baby in this car seat! Well worth the money!!

Great car seat but seat belts sit on baby's legs
This is a good looking seat. I like the new air wicking bamboo fabric which makes it look smart. At times the baby still get a bit hot in the seat I guess it only helps wicking some moisture away.
My partner fitted the seat himself. He had to ask the sale assistant about a few features but we got there after 20'. It's easy to adjust shoulder height and loosen the straps. These deserve 5 stars.
Baby seems comfortable in the seat and cries less than before when she was in Maxi Cosi Mico Ap, which I wasn't a fan.

s old. It doesn't look like she'll have alot of head room to grow. I don't think I can adjust it to be wider. I'm a little worried as my baby hated the snug feeling of the capsule. Rear facing to 2-3 years is a great feature. It's easy to get baby in and out. The only complaint is the bottom seatbelts tend to sit on my Baby's legs instead of her waist. Is it supposed to?2 comments

Fantastic car seat!!
We bought this as we wanted to give our daughter the best protection we could in the event of an accident. When we had it fitted the person installing it said this was a great seat and top of the line. We were rear ended today (not at a very high speed thankfully) but we still called the ambulance to check over the little one - she was fine - but even the ambulance staff commented that she was protected well by the seat and that it was one of the best ones you could get.
The seat belt system is fantastic too, we previously had a maxi cosi capsule before little one outgrew it and the seat belt system was absolutely horrible.
They're pricey but definitely well worth it.

My son love this seat
My son is on the small side and this seat suits him perfectly. It's safe and very comfortable and easy for him to sleep in long distance. The extra padding and side impact is fantastic - only seat we would take him in on a long distance trip. It is very wide though and I agree that sometime it can be hard to tighten the straps.

Great up until 18 months
We purchased this SnS platinum car seat based on family personal recommendation and research. My baby was quite comfy in it In the backward facing position. But 6 months after we turned it around, it started to look a little squishy. I've taken the extra padding on the bottom part out too. Perhaps she is big for her age but it does say 0-4 years and she is only 2? so we placed it in our second car that we only drive around from time to time. I guess we'll use it again when we have another baby.
Never used the iPod connection!

Wouldn't recommend for a SUV
Tether strap is too short in the most popular family car in Australia - the SUV!
Not advised pre purchase, although strange for sales staff to not be aware considering they sell the extension straps. This is when they slug you for more money - $29 for the extension strap, on top of what is already a very pricey seat.
Brittax customer service are self righteous, indicating that this information is on the box (which is in the warehouse out of view). Otherwise they highlight a pathetic tag on the seat which advises to check the seat fits you...Read more
r vehicle. We did - it was sat in! Thirdly, their defence is they can't control that the information manual has been removed from the seat on the shop floor - Who is going to read the manual and learn how to attach all the straps pre-purchase? That's what I paid a professional baby car seat fitter to do after purchase! The tether strap only just reaches the SUV anchor point on the seat back, so it will always be in the way as there is barely 1 inch of slack! A company fitting the seat in fact reports that it has been shortened?! 7kg baby has to be put in horizontally to get in over strap! This is ridiculous and dangerous as it's so easy to bump their head on the car or get a leg stuck over the strap. Another couple of points, is the material doesn't appear great considering her tears stained the head support on the first car trip (I have the grey colour). Britax will probably say the material is designed for safety, etc, etc, but surely they can address these issues for a product in this price range. Need to tighten and losen straps by pulling at back of the seat. This will be accessible only while rear facing. One strap always feels tighter. Can't say whether this seat is safer than any others, but I would have preferred to have supported another company with my purchase now.1 comment

Great car seat!!
Excellent car seat! Well worth the investment. Only two things that I'm not particularly happy with:
1. My Princess gets very sweaty if she's in it for a long drive. I assume its because of all the padding (?)
2. One strap is slightly longer than the other, regardless of how often I try to adjust it.
Aside from these two things, I love it!!

Excellent car seat - safe, comfy, easy to use.
I signed up to review this seat because I almost didn't buy it based on the reviews of the Safe-n-sound Platinum SICT carseat (which is NOT the ISOFIX compatible one!!). The Isofix seats have only been approved for the Australian market since late 2014, and I was keen to get one as they are theoretically much easier to install properly and extremely safe. There's not much choice on the market yet but we decided to go with this one over the Maxi Cosi Euro, which also looked excellent, only because our daughter is already a toddler and the Safe-n...Read more
-Sound one is simply bigger; there's a bit more room for her head in between their 'side impact' cushions. This seat did install very, very easily - just make sure your car actually does have the Isofix system though. I know there's not supposed to be much difference between a properly installed via seat belt seat and an Isofix one, but this seat is seriously locked down much tighter than the one we had (another Safe-n-Sound seat). It is very easy to both loosen and tighten the harness. A couple of reviews had said they were hard to move on the other platinum seat but these move smoothly, at least so far! The seat also has little pockets to pop the buckles into so the harness is held open while you insert bub. It is not overly big - in fact our 2 year old is super comfy, with a little room to grow. Also it says you can have a baby rear facing right to 2/3 years old with this seat which is technically safer, but ours wouldn't tolerate that, and is happy and safe facing out. A+ for being able to change it's recline position and move the head rest up easily without removing the seat! I think she'll sleep better in this too as she can just rest her head against one of the side cushions. Only slight negative is that the grey swirls design looks a bit dated (80s) but the black was a bit dark for us. Not a big selection of designs. It is on the pricey side but make sure to price-match if you can. Overall, as we travel quite a few hours over a week, we're genuinely thrilled with this car seat.1 comment

Avoid this seat! Huge and really difficult to get baby into it.
We purchased this seat on the recommendation of a staff member at Baby Bunting - the sales pitch being - you won't regret buying the top of the line when it comes to safety. Well, we do regret it. It's a huge seat, mainly because of the side impact cushions, however isn't particularly roomy - and our son, now 13 mths and quite tall, is cramped and hates this seat. However going into the middle range Safe'n'Sound in our spare car - fine, no problems. I agree with other reviewers that the straps are really hard to adjust - and we have tried with plenty of time at hand. Really, really annoying to buy the best only to find it's quite frankly bad.
Bulky; hard to seat child into it; hard to adjust straps; takes loads of room in a Peugeot wagon.

Hi Ashley N. Thanks for your question. Isofix is an optional secondary method of installation, you can use the cars lap sash seat belt along with the upper tether strap even if your car does not have Isofix. Becasked
Can the pro be used in a foreard facing position from 12 months regardless of the babies height (within reason)?
3 answers
You have to check their specs (on their website can download pdf), but australian standard is from 6mths of age. If your little one is still comfortable rear faced, its better to leave rear faced. If you look up recommendations its as long as possible (baby is comfortable). Their bodies are most safe rear faced so young in case of accident. My little one is 14mths still rear faced, she has a mirror so can engage with us. Best of luck
Thanks Kris,
My LO (4m) gets bad nausea and I'd like the option of trying both 4wd and rear facing plus if it does get better with time (which our MD suggests it might) we could go back to rear facing. My 2yo is still rear facing and fine.
Thanks for your help, ill try to find the appropriate file
Thanks
Bec

Hi Bec, thanks for your question. The Safe-n-Sound Platinum Pro can only be used as per the instruction manual and the height labels will need to followed as a guide. If your little one has not yet reached the first marker, your child will need to remain in rear facing however you can keep your child in rear facing if you wish until they reach the dotted line on the middle marker.
