Good o'l faithful
I have 03 Navara cab chassis turbo diesel 3ltr 4WD. Bought this 3rd hand late 2017.
I do courier work 200km every day.
Done some off roading last year in 2018 in the outback during a 8000km trip over 3 weeks. Never missed a beat.
Service twice a year.
Never had any problems.
This car has never failed me. Great off road and a great work horse during the week. Motor starts first time every time and still pulls hard.
Replaced the clutch soon after purchase and replaced battery early 2022.
Other than that i keep oil fresh and coolant levels up and the beast just keeps on going.
One of the last of the original Japanese made Navaras. Love my nifty Nav.
Purchased in October 2021 at Private for $7,000.00.

Very reliable ute ...
Own my 2004 D22 For 10 years now, done 400.000 km, and never missed a beat. Not most comfortable, but keeps going, tows the boat, take me to work, always long hot miles . service it myself every 10km,with good 15-50 semi or fully synthetic oil. Change diff /gear box & transfer case .
Nothing done to it other than tear &wear(brake pads/tyres ) .Cheap to run. only fault engine light comes on when push engine past 3000rpm, but Nissan can t find fault, neither can independent mechanic. bit small for space, but had an unbelievable run .made in Spain, has the Legendary 3.0l Renault motor.

Reliable 3.2 diesel
Bought very cheap with the seller spending $3000 on the suspension springs . I was hesitant to buy one for so many years . The 3.2 is not as slow as what has been said, has a good amount of pick up but what can you expect? I see lots of people push these to a turbo but i will leave it stock .
The only problem is the instrument cluster, temp gauge works and rev counter at certain rpm abover 1300 . This is because of a resistor behind the panel, fixing this very soon . Turning circle is very good for a truck this size, heater / aircon perfect, no rust except for a small amount of surface in the rear tub . Not yet been off road but soon, im not a hard core offroader so this will just take me to the back beach ect.
Purchased in June 2021.

She’s a beauty with a long life!
Bought my Nissan Navara d22 new in 2014. Done 112 000kms in that time (it’s now 2022) and it hasn’t missed a beat. The brakes are yet to be replaced with what I would expect a long way to go. The clutch is beautiful not a problem. It obviously doesn’t have the power of a new v6 Amarok nor the lack of power as a 1993 triton or hilux May have. When needed it has the power you need and around town it’s a pleasure to drive. If you are into 4wding, touring, camping or even just hauling gear in the back or on a medium to small trailer then you won’t ...Read more
be disappointed (even a first time car buyer, if you have the money because they do hold their value). I personally bought it for 4wding, loading up the back and touring, and it’s done just that with ease and comfort. Space wise you wouldn’t be able to fit three grown men in the back comfortably but you could easily fit three kids or teenagers in there with room to spare. The accessories are endless ranging from aftermarket to genuine and if serviced well can last as long as you want. I’m extremely happy with mine and if your looking for one make sure it’s well looked after first and you’ll love it and never want to sell it!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great Car
Great car, purchased new, I knew from the test drive back seat was cramped and power was low, but 6 years later, drives like the day I bought it, I think it will last another 10 years, only changed, oil, filters and tyres... Easy to service and work on, low tech, just the way I like it. Well built solid workhorse and weekend warrior.

Cheap and nasty
Over the last 20 years I’ve had 3 Navaras and 5 Hilux’s as my work utes so I have a bit of background
The D22 was my first Navana and by far the worse and also the cheapest
It look good with the alloy wheels and colour match bars, but it rides very rough the seating position is terrible and the cabin noise is high
I did 100k in the car and had no problems! So it it’s reliable and got the job done, but I would buy another !
Power is low, but fuel economy is good
At the time I got a great deal from Nissan as it was the old model, but my resale was just as poor .
If money is tight then this car could work for you

Nissan Navara is the best vehicle to buy. But the passenger area is less spacious
I have a Nissan Navara D22 2006, ST-R 3L. I bought it in Melbourne & drove to Cairns. Then I drove it to Brisbane. From Brisbane, I came to Esperance in WA. Each time I had a trailer with it. I bought it in 2016 and it is now 2018. In between, I have driven almost 30000kms. I regularly service the car by myself. change oil in every 5000kms. always use Penrite oil. Have change diesel filter a few times. This is the best vehicle to buy.

Amazing 4wd !!!
I have taken this to the cape and all over the beach side. The only thing I have had to upgrade is my suspension and tyres. Honestly love this car. Brings joy to my family plenty of space for work and fun on the weekends!!!
Great fuel economy as well!! 9litres to 100k's.

Bad car on the tow
I've had 2 navaras in 18 years one was a 2000 model 3.3 Litre petrol had that for 15 years and was a great vehicle on and off the tow! Then I bought a 2014 2.4 Litre turbo and iv done 2 clutches and gearbox at 75000kms! It is by far what you would say a girls car with no grunt! Terrible at the tow! What you would say all shoe and no go! I wish I had my old car again! I think a hilux for a towing worker is the go and I will be buying Toyota hilux!

worst piece of crap ive ever owned
i bought a d22 navara from a good mate that had owned it from new it had been regularly serviced and never missed a beat until the day i bought it at a very very low km, From day one i had nothing but electrical problems ranging from the windows getting stuck half way and refusing to go up or down for hours to the alarm going off while im standing right beside it and nothing touching it to the airconditioner selecting its own speed even tho it was manual controls. The vehicle was fitted with a small lift done threw nissan with a canopy, draw sy...Read more
stem with fridge with camping stuff only in one draw and tools in the other never very heavy at all, snorkel bullbar with winch sidesteps and bigger tyres the first time it was ever put into four wheel drive to get off my front lawn as it had rained i went to move it and not even spun the wheel one rotation and it blew the front differential to pieces nissan refused to fix it and i had to take them to court to have it fixed. The car had a total of under 20,000 km when i was driving to work sitting on 100km\h when the back wheels locked up as the gear box had literally fallen out of the car again nissan blamed me and i was out of pocket for over $5000 as when i spoke to my lawyer i was advised i would not win and got second and third advice and was told the same as nissan had told them i had been doing burnouts in my vehicle but with no proof. After having this fixed two days later the rear diff dropped all of its oil out a small hole just next to the axle behind the hub where the thing drilled its own drain hole some how this was fixed by nissan with no argument. the very next day the front upper control arm split in two putting me into a wall luckily at slow speed again fixed by nissan no argument a few days later the diesel pump died followed by the injectors two days later. A few days later followed by the alternator then two days later the power steering pump as well as the outer door lock on the drivers door. This was all eventually fixed and the car seemed to be like a different car and drove amazingly for about two weeks until i jumped in it one morning to go to work and could hear a strange noise that sounded like tyre squeal but could not find any problem with the car drove a little more down the road the hole time hearing this noise coming from the rear of the vehicle regardless of speed over about 20 km/h i decided to not risk driving it and got it towed back to nissan i received a call that afternoon to tell me that i had towed to much weight with the vehicle and had bent the back of the ute down and it was causing the tyres to squeal being out of alignment i had a massive argument with the manager as my vehicle didn't even have a tow bar and had never even been off road and had never had anything put in the tray due to the canopy and draw system and camping gear that never got removed from the back of the car as i camped any chance i got but never got to with this car as it never made it any where with out braking down i ended up back at court and won my case with alot of help from a great lawyer and smash repair experts four wheel drive experts and mechanical experts so i will never ever buy a nissan or buy any car from nepean motor group/ penrith mitsubishiSimilar opinion? Cheap and broken
Driving performance that I have is that the sheering wheels broke when it went on the clear roads. Door had bad edges after I just opened the back door and the boot. Lasted for a week and can't find someone that I bought it from to return it back to that people.

We needed a ute that was easy to drive
We had been looking for a ute that would be our second car, easy to drive and also be our work-horse for ferrying large items around. This is a nice looking ute, has a dual cab so the shopping can sit on the back seat securely and be in air conditioning, if needed. The gearbox on this ute is probably the best of any car we have owned. The only downside, and would be the same with any utility vehicle, is bad visibility when reversing. We had the option of fitting a rear camera, which we may do at a later date.

Good all rounder
Purchased as an interim vehicle, but have clocked up around 60,000 klms, to now total 307000 kms. Overall not a bad car for the klms and driving experience. It wasn't kept in the best order by previous owner, so have corrected a few things on the way, but am happy with nothing really spent besides normal running costs.
Pros: Car like drive, easy to park, turning circle ok, seats comfy, dual airbags, ABS brakes halve stopping distance to previous ute, good looks, do take it off road a fair bit and goes alright, Cheap on fuel averaging under 8 ...Read more

Great truck
I've got a 2009 STR with 150k stock except for suspension. This is the best car I've ever owned. Apart from tyres and oil, the car is original. The Nissan service department told me to think about brake change at 30k service, I said I'll wait. It's now past 150k and brakes are still fine! I do oil change myself now and have never had an issue. The only hiccups I've had is with limp mode, was about to change scv but instead have added fuel additive that's fixed issue.

Great all round ute
Awesome truck. Owned since new 2012 on and off road very reliable. Get about 750-800km a tank on the highway. The turning circle is not great but it's not supposed to be a Barina. The buttons on the radio have broken off and are hard to replace as Nissan don't sell them, also I was told it's common. The cup holders are in an awkward position but you get used to it, but these are minor factors overall.

Had my 3.0 ltr 2005 duel cab since new. Put a clutch in 12 months ago. Other than that normal servicing did 375000 and was still going strong until i hit a giant skippy at 120k. That wrote him off. Cant fault it was best vehicle i ever owned. Did central aust 4 times sand driving and half a dozen tripes to tassy. Towed sunken barges out of waterways. And boats etc. i luckily fount another one with only 160 k on it so be good for another 300k
