Hi guys
We have been using Novalac Allergy for over 12 months now, it was a game changer for our son and his cows milk intolerance, however now he is 18 months and we are looking to a suitable transition formula appropriate for his age group, wonder who has gone down this path and what options do we have, any information would be much appreciated!
I’ve been told by my pead to slowly introduce dairy as my daughter gets older and she should grow out of the intolerance and be able to tolerate cows milk. Have you introduced much dairy into his diet?
Along the journey we have and when we do we really get to know about it with a toddler getting constipated, farting, stomach pains etc... So at the moment it's best we stay away from dairy products ...
Read moreunless we are prepared to have a sleepless night with a child being unsettled. What symptoms does your child display when you give dairy to them ?She is nearly six months and we have been advised not to start any dairy products yet and when we do to start with something that has really well cooked dairy like a biscuit. It means the protein is r...
Read moreeally broken down. Her symptoms are pretty much the same. Bloating, farting, screaming in pain. I’d suggest seeing a pead and starting a properly guided plan to introducing dairy. All the other children who I know with a CMPI have been guided by a pead and introduced dairy slowly and by 12 months or a little older were drink cows milk.Hello, my baby started on novalac alergy 6 days ago, after a suspected cmpi he also is medicated for silent reflux. He is 8 weeks old and has started sleeping through the night, his reflux has also gotten better.
The last two days he has had loose, diarrhoea bowel movements which are very smelly and yellow/brownish consistency after every feed.
Is this normal would it be just the transition period? Or mean it doesn’t agree with him.
Any advice would be appreciated
My daughter has been on this for 7 weeks now as suspected CMPI. First 2 weeks her bowel movements were like a green/yellow (foul smelling) but a peanut butter consistency. Passes wind that is very sme...
Read morelly also. Still does to this day. However, from about 2-3 weeks of the formula we have been experiencing constipation. Paediatrician provided a script for another formula but my LO went back to the same pain she was in before formula. So we have gone back to this formula but this constipation problem is concerning. She has been on coloxyl for a few weeks no improvement. So back to the paediatrician to discuss other options.Constipation is an issue with this formula but my lead suggested Actilax and that’s made all the difference. Being a rice based formula it’s more likely to constipate sadly.
My 6 month old with CMPI and reflux has mix feeds. During day when on Novalac Allergy is always spewy. After BF is not spewy. Everything else seems better but is the spewing normal?
Just started my 5 week old on Novalac allergy as my pediatrician believes she may have a cows milk allergy. She is not finishing full bottles, seems settled enough, gags/ reflux even up to 3-4 hours after a feed when she’s in bed. It’s only day 2 for us. Does this get better and will she get use to it?
Im breastfeeding mostly and giving this formula to my baby 1-2x/day, but sometimes he passed very smelly poos/farts. Does anyone know why?
Formula can cause smellier poos and farts. If not caused by the formula it may be your diet. Oranges and eggs can cause breastfed babies to have smelly pops and farts. Hope this helps

My 4 wk old refuses this formula due to the taste. Previously on novalac reflux and breast fed, knees to tummy and rash has subsided after 30ml of this formula but will not accept a bottle or more then a drop. Foul taste even when halved with breast milk and mixed. Cries and despises it however my milk supply is drying up. Please help, what did you do to get your little one to accept this formula??
Our speech pathologist recommended putting a few drops of mayple syrup or alcohol free vanilla essence to start and gradually dropping it as baby gets used to the taste

My problem with novalac alergy is that it causes teats blocked!!!
I make it at temperature 40 and shake it for at least 1 minute.
This is really a problem when my baby is crying and I have to change the teat during feeding.
My baby was prescribed Novalac HA but he seems to be reacting to it. He has only taken it for 2 days and he seems to have abdominal pains, distressed and passing alot of wind. Has anyone experienced this?

We have been on novolac for 6 weeks with constant mucus in poo. Doctors said it was fine but not great, the past few days she has been screaming after feeds, unsettled and has always had massive poos in the formula and they smell awful. This formula is so good because it's thick but what could she be reacting to from it??

Read mored be right. GP told me to take a sample and send it to pathologyMy 3 month old has been on Novolac allergy for 8 days and has had constant vomiting and poos once a day which is very watery and dark green. Does this indicate that this is not right for him? Should I change formula immediately as I’m worried about dehydration?
I would take him to the doctor if the vomiting and diarrhoea has been constant, especially for that long. He might already be dehydrated. My baby does have greenish poo on this formula and from what I...
Read more’ve read, that seems to be normal with this particular formula. But constant vomiting etc definitely isn’t normal. If it started 8 days ago, it may be attributed to the formula but it’s best to get your baby checked to rule out illness and manage dehydration. Hope that helps!Hy please help me. My son is constipated and has eczema. Can Novalac Allergy help with resolve both problems?
Do you need a prescription to purchase this formula?
Just wondering how everyone prepares their bottles? if I boil the kettle it takes over an hour to cool to 40degreees to mix the formula and then I still have to wait till it cools to give it to bub? I haven’t used formula before so a bit confused how this works if bub is hungry/in the middle of the night.
I prepare all bottles with measured boiled water and allow to cool during the day. When I need to make up a bottle I do measured formula scoops into cooled water, shake and then heat in the bottle warmer. Good luck
