kinky hose
I recently purchased a so called kink resistant Nylex hose (kink resistant number 10) which is supposed to be the best. I'm nearly driven mad with untangling this hose. It doesn't even wind up without kinking and tangling. Very disappointed, I could return it but would need to get another hose and from what I can gather there is a hit and miss as to whether it will kink. False advertising regarding the kink resistance.

Don’t buy this hose
Bought this hose 18 months ago, thought I’d spend some extra cash on what I thought would be a good quality product, the outside of the hose gets a sticky residue on it, the residue transfers to your hands while handling the hose, this sticky residue can not be wiped off, it’s obviously a problem with this particular hose as there are other posts here noting the same problem,

This is shocking.
Hose kinked within a week. It tangles and every so often I have to stretch the hose to full length in the sun to get the tangles out.

Outer Plastic Melts
Although the hose is "UV Protected to withstand harsh Australian conditions", it cannot be left outside in Brisbane. The external plastic is melting in the sun.
Nylex response was to store it out of the sun (not possible), and to wash the hose.

DO NOT BUY THIS HOSE
I bought this hose less than 12mths ago paying $99 for it.
Thinking it will be good as it won’t kink but it has gone all sticky
Absolute rubbish.
Rang Nylex to discuss the problem and was told it has to be put out of the weather.

Nylex Flextreme simply the best!
11/03/2023 I purchased a Pope 3/10 anti kink rating and spent more time undoing kinks than it took to wash the front yard, it was driving me nuts. 13/03/2023 I returned it to Bunnings (great customer service I have to say) and they allowed me to exchange it for a Nylex 20m Flextreme, back yard done today which is way bigger than the front and not one kink or twist during use, or when rolling back up, absolutely fantastic product. Great Hose
We have just purchased this product and already we realise it is a GREAT hose. From instructions to set your hose for the best possible longevity, to ease of use, we are impressed.
So far so good!
So I've migrated across from a pope hose to see if this nylex one would leak like the other one when connected to my pressure hose. Safe to say, this is WAYYY better. No leaks at all! I've only had it about 6 months, so durability will be the only test left. I am really happy so far though! Great price. Great size. Great product. Reading the other reviews, I think we're on a winner. Thanks guys!

At last! A hose that doesn’t split in cold weather and stays supple all year round.
Having replaced a $25 hose that is not fit for purpose, I paid $50 for the Nylex Flextreme. It’s worth the extra expense as I’ve had it nearly two years and I’m pleased to say it hasn’t gone hard and split in cold weather and stayed soft and supple in -1° C.

The Nylex Flextreme is the best hose I have ever used in 60 years of gardening. There is no comparison between this hose and the useless Nylex (N) ever kink !

So much better than most hoses. This just doesn't kink. I am about to buy another. Easy to coil once the job is done. I would definitely recommend having a look.

Good quality garden hose
soo tired of using cheap hoses becuase they snap and split . buoght flextreme hose fro mnylex and its good quality . the material is different from other hoses, its stronger . would reccommend !
Questions & Answers
Do Nylex Flexstreme hoses contain Phtalates? This is not mentioned at all in their Fact sheets. They may be lead and BPA free but Phtalates are a major concern for any hose user.

We do not actively include phthalates in our products. Though none of our products have been certified to be phthalates free. This means we are unable to guarantee our products are phthalate free.

Can you cut the hose for other connections

I haven’t had the need to cut mine, but a flextreme hose is like any other hose so I would cut it if need be. I have found the flexstreme hose to be far better than the cheap Holman hose. I understand that if you buy a Holman hose from Bunnings, they are made overseas specifically for Bunnings. They are a waste of money as they kink easily and split in cold weather. It’s far better to pay the extra for the flextreme. I have two and they have lasted over three years and don’t split.
Does the Nylex fleXtreme Garden Hose taint the water, I am thinking of using it for my caravan?
I cannot comment on whether or not the flexstreme hose might taint water used for drinking. I would recommend you buy a drinking water hose from a camping store.
I can say the flexstreme hose doesn’t crack in cold weather or kink in hot weather and is worth the extra money over a cheap H*lm*n hose.
