Big Disappointment

published

I had exactly the same problems as 'Onkaparinga Klikk don't bother'. Very disappointing, as Onkaparinga was a brand I previously trusted. The exposure of the electric cabling is a serious problem with this product.

Stopped working after a week

published

Received this just over a week ago from David Jones and it has stopped heating. Lights come up on switch but no heat. Tried troubleshooting recommendations and still no heat even after hours. Very disappointed!

Purchased in March 2021 at David Jones Online Store for A$45.00.

Onkaparinga Klikk don't bother

published

As other reviews have stated, this brand is no longer trustworthy. We have had our fleecy King size electric blanket for a few years, and the controller on one side has ceased working. The electric cabling has also lost the outer plastic protective casing, where the chord meets the digital controller. The blanket worked great on heat setting 3, but below that was a waste of time. Won't be buying another one.

Purchased in July 2021.

Faulty electric throw

published

I purchased a lovely soft electric Onkaparinga throw that I only ever used a few times before it stopped heating. Very disappointed in the product and for the company which has a long and positive history. I am reluctant to throw out the throw, perhaps there is a solution.

Purchased in June 2021 at Domayne for A$50.00.

Onkaparinga electric blanket faulty Klikk control

published

Seems like I am one of many with a faulty Klikk control on my Onkaparinga electric blanket. It was good and lived up to its promise for a few years. Shame to have no parts available.

Onkaparinga Klikk don't bother

published

As other reviews have stated, this brand is no longer worth the money you pay for it. We have had our King size electric blanket for 3 years only, and the controller on one side has ceased working. The electric cabling has also lost the outer plastic protective casing, where the chord meets the digital controller. Purchased from either Myer or DJs.
Would not buy again and of course, warranty expires as blanket becomes faulty.

Poorly made controllers ruin the product - and reputation

published

We bought several Onkaparinga electric blankets for the family, but one by one the controllers died and some had the plastic insulation strip away from where the electric cord connects with the controller which was potentially dangerous. Each of the single bed controllers failed. Then, Inevitably, one of the controllers failed on the Queen sized bed and we gave up with Onkaparinga. I will not be buying this brand again. Yet another old Australian brand ruined by exporting the manufacture of their product to China - with the results you would expect.

Terrible- stopped working

published

I am so disappointed with this. I have always been told that onkaparinga is a very trusted brand. My electric blanket just went kaput and I don’t know what to do and how to get it repaired. Does Onkaparinga give a refund or even a replacement? I actually love the feel of it and now will have to go through winter without an electric blanket

Happy Camper

published

This electric blanket is an absolute bliss to have. I have been using it since June last year and so far it has been keeping me very warm all night.

Just ensure that the controller not covered by the blanket or sheets when using it. This is my second winter in using this blanket and it still works like wonders. I'm a happy camper.

3rd time still malfunctions!

published

Every year for three years we have replaced this at Myer, because every year the new one has one controller cease functioning by the following winter. Only reason I keep getting the same a brand is it hasn't cost me any extra to keep swapping it over. Love the idea of dual controllers, but this is absolute junk.

Just bought this and love it.

published

Just bought this in time for winter. I like the quilt where it is fitted and fully machine washable which keeps it clean. Also comes with separate remote controls which is handy for me and my husband.
So far so good, would recommend it.

i swear reading these reviews was making me think : did i already review this ? Exactly .same.experience
One controller gone dead [wife's side ] so now got to get a new one. Again..already? ..just because of the cheap [nasty cheap ] controller.
David jones said they dont stock any more and to contact Onkaparinga . Onka said they discontinued but have new ones that are much better . Great, trade in then please
Another Kleenmaid story if i ever saw one.
Disappointed..mostly due to not being able to get crap controller [ $ 2 ] replaced

Had it 2 years (taking it off in summer) & the controls on one side have "packed up" . Paid good money for it but would not get again as feel it is not worth it.

What a dud -thought it was quality

published

Bought this electric blanket couple of years ago and hardly used it. We live on the Gold Coast so last year it wasn't used at all. Put it on the bed this weekend and the controller on one side is not working, so all up we got just two winters use out of it. Contacted the company that has the Onkaparinga brand now, WAM Decor and Homewares, enquiring about a replacement controller and was told too bad its discontinued and the controller can't be replaced. Hmmm thanks for nothing, well I can tell them one thing ...I won't be buying Onkaparinga again or any of the other products that this company that includes Jason products.

I bought this last year for our king size bed. Has duel controls with safety features so I can disconnect them to allow for safe cleaning with washing machine. Allow to thoroughly dry, reconnect controls and get back into a lovely soft warm bed

Company has gone bust and cannot get parts. I took mine back after two years with the receipt and Myer gladly replaced it with a Sunbeam wool fleece, twin controlled blanket and credited my account with the $125.60 difference.

Here are the contact details for Onkaparinga: +61 3 8390 3333 [email protected], [email protected]. I would ring then directly to see if they provide spare parts.
