Actimist 2 in 1 is very helpful for our dry eyes.
My husband & I both use this product & find it very helpful. It provides eye comfort for about 4 hours. It is especially good for dry dehumidified environments like planes & air conditioned areas. I use a closed fist on my cheek to stabilise the bottle when administering it (about 10cm) & I wait about 20 seconds for it to "dry" before opening my eyes. It is a wonderful help to us both. We've been using it about 2 yrs now.
Purchased at Calver Optometrist for $35.00.

Don't waste your money
Purchased this product from our local supermarket, I tried it for two days and found it to be totally useless. Due to my eyesight deteriorating over the last two months I decided to have an eye test and get new spectacles. Unfortunately they did not totally solve my problem as I found it was being caused by dry eye, very noticeable in the mornings and gradually improving through the day. I purchased a product called Hylo Fresh which worked brilliantly, due to the bottle applicator it was not easy to use so I got my wife to administer the drops...Read more
. I thought by buying the Optrex product, which looked easy to apply, it would spare her the task, this is when I discovered my mistake. There is no way this product will give any ease from the ingredients, only a stinging sensation from what I imagine is the Ethanol. I think that a product that has such a high price should have worked to some degree, so be warned.
Purchased in April 2021 for $25.00.

Burning sensation
I had been suffering from dry eyes and decided to give ac timist a go. Sprayed on my eyelids as directed, (not into my eyes) and it really stung and felt like my lids were on fire. It took a few minutes to calm down, and didn't help the dryness at all. A few days later I tried again and still had the same reaction. My eyelids were sore and itchy for a couple of weeks after using the ac timist spray.
I gave the actimist to my son to try and he had exactly the same reaction.
I have since used some different eye drops without any issues at all.
I will never use actimist again or recommend it to anyone.

Too Good To Be True.
Optrex did not relieve my dry eyes. The ethanol burnt the top lids. Sore red dry for many days after using the product. I do not recommend the product. Waste of my money.

Great and Terrible
I get dry eyes using contacts and this works amazingly for my eyes. The downside is the few seconds of burning pain from the Ethanol... after that it's pretty awesome

Optrex is a con.
Optrex does not relieve dry or irritated eyes. I found it did the exact opposite. The eyelids and skin immediately surrounding my eyes became sore and eyes seemed more irritated. They improved after I stopped using it.

Don't believe the hype
Initially disappointed, but have had minor relief from regular use. Would go for a normal eye drop over this and could have got two of those for this. To the people spraying in your eye, it's not meant to be used that way! The liquid attaches to your eye folds and is dispersed into the slowly as you blink. Tempting to spray directly, but not how this one works.

Does NOT cool, soothe, refresh, relieve or revive
Tried this for dry eyes. It is supposed to cool, soothe and refresh....or relieve or revive
It does none of these.
In fact it makes it worse. Eyes are more irritated after use.
I even doubt the so called science behind it.
My optometrist did Not recommend it either.
Very disappointing.

Good delivery system.
Dispite the higher than average price, I have found this to be very convenient with its spray delivery system. It is quicker and easier and less messy to use than the eye drops where I had to hold my eye lid open. I am only using what I needed and not wasting the remainder of a disposable eye drop every time. And the sealed bottle means it has a longer expiry time.
I had used the Itchy+Watery version for my dry eyes as I couldn't find the Dry+Irritated one and it worked fine. But I do wish they have a version for all conditions. And I don't ...Read more
mind the slight soy smell so I know I'm not just paying for water. In relations to the burning sensation a few people have reported, I have found that only happened to me when I had sprayed too close or too much and some of it had landed directly on the eye ball. But haven't had any issue when sprayed on the closed eye lid as directed.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Waste of money
My eyes can get dry and irritated in winter as the humidity decreases. I thought I'd try the spray as it seemed like a good idea despite the high(ish) price. Well, I've used it a few times and while it's not irritated my eyes as it seems to do for some, it simply does nothing. No relief, no lubrication. I've resorted back to drops which work. Quite disappointed. One good thing about it is that if you have friends or family who do find it effective, you can share the bottle as there is no contact with the skin and therefore no infection risk as there is with eye drop bottles.
I later spoke with a friend who finds it quite effective, so I gave her my nearly full bottle. Apparently, it works for some and not others.

Burning eyes
I've been using eye drops for years. An optometrist from long ago recommended this, saying it's necessary for long computer use and to relieve eye strain. Optrex is my brand of choice because I found it really refreshing and helpful. I almost don't mind that I have to buy another pack after four weeks. I've seen the results; good quality and peace of mind is priceless.
The Acti mist version has been out a while, but I stuck with the usual. Call me old fashioned or sentimental, but I didn't want to mess up a good thing. However, curiosity go...Read more
t the better of this cat, so I decided it's worth a try. At first, I was impressed. An eye spray that does the job? It was super convenient, no need to tilt your head; just close your eyes and poof. It seemed too good to be true. I was so convinced that I bought two more bottles from the chemist while on sale. Suddenly, I noticed that my eyes burned often as I took a shower. I thought something else caused this, but woke up once I read the reviews of the eye spray here. I found out by then that ethanol was one of the ingredients. I concurred that it was indeed too good for me and returned both bottles to the chemist. When they accepted it without questions, I knew I've dodged a bullet. I promptly returned to using the eye drops. True, it has a shorter expiry and you have to tilt your head, but at least there's no Ethanol (and no burning eyes). So readers, if you don't want that bullet to ricochet, pls avoid Optrex eye mist. Take it from someone who's been there.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Not very good.
They claim it helps relieve dry eyes which just isn't the case. Before you think this might just be isolated to me know that friends and family that have used this have reported similar effects. First thing spraying it on you will become aware of it being on your eyes as your eyes throb slightly. Over time especially in windy conditions your eyes start to throb more and more. It took a full day for the sore throbbing to stob. If a product makes your eyes feel worse than they did before use perhaps it's time to find a better product.

doesn't work
Bought for severe acute allergic reaction of unknown origin. Tried it as prescribed. No relief. Found washing eyes with water better and much cheaper. Can't recommend try water instead. As I write this eyes still burning 10 minutes since using spray.

This worked for me
I think everyone is different when it comes to health and personal care products and the reviews seem to be mostly negative for this product but I found it works well for me. I sit in front of a computer in air conditioning most days and I wear glasses. It takes about 5 minutes to work but once it does my eyes feel great. Before I spray they usually feel dry and grainy. The only negative i find with this product is that it gets all over your face and if you don't wipe it off you are left with a sticky face.

Don't buy waste money
I brought this product thinking it will help my irritated eyes- in fact I feel like poking them out now they so irritated so itchy so sore I rubbing them I am 100 percent sure they made my eyes worse and I can not believe they are on the market. Waste money and my eyes are killing me now worst ever been due to optrex actimist so trust these reviews wish I had read but I thought a simple spray over eye with eyes closed is safe no think again.

Waste of Money and Ineffective
I wish I had seen these reviews before trying this product. It had no effect whatsoever and in fact felt like it added to my irritation. I had to wash my eyes with water to make them more comfortable. I went back to my old style eye drops which gave me almost instant relief. I just don't understand what is going on with this product's hype. I recommend you avoid disappointment and stick with the tried and tested eye drops.

Expensive novelty, probably not worth the money.
I am not convinced that this product did anything much. I followed the instructions exactly, did not experience any ill effects or stinging and my eyes felt OK afterwards. I did not experience any improvement on ordinary eye drops apart from the novelty of spraying on closed eyes. If you hate using eye drops this would probably work for you but I don't think that is enough of an advantage for me to justify the much higher cost. Note also that the bottle contains only 10 ml and the spray tube does not reach to the bottom, as others have noted. Most eye drops come in 15 ml bottles.
