Oz-Pet All Natural Cat & Pet Litter (page 3 of 3)

Excellent
My breeder uses Oz-Pet in her cattery. My kitten loves it. If used with Oz-Pet litter tray, a little bit is used in the bottom tray, when the cat pee goes through, the wood turns to sawdust and can be used in the garden. There is no smell at all. I'd recommend this product to anyone, it's great!
Comes in 10 kg bags, no mess, no smell and easy to clean up.
Excellent
Absolutely brilliant litter and tray system save lots of time and minimises landfill as it can be used on the garden. I use a litter tray liner on the lower tray which makes changing/refreshing the tray much easier and faster.
Renewable product; no dust; very quick and easy to change/refresh litter tray; low to no urine odour when used correctly; less likely to be scattered over the surrounding floor by even the most frantic digging; product fragrance is and natural.
The litter tray system is good however the sieving tray should be at least 2cm deeper and the handle area should not have sieving holes as the urine can escape when males aim at this area thus the urine goes over the top of the lower tray and onto the floor

I love it! It took me a while to find a good litter for my smelly friend. I tried, clumping, paper, really expensive crystals. None of them worked this good. Use with the oz pet tray and you save even more money eventhough the intial price you pay for the try is above your average litter box. You will really notice the reduce in smells through out your house, my house is quite small so that's fantastic for me. My cat seemingly loves it as she doesn't like using the litter box when it's gotten quite smelly as with the previous litters I've ...
Read moretried. She keeps using this for a week (if i've been lazy) without any distress. Excellent excellent choice for a smelly kitty. Reduced the smells easy by 90% I can say this with all honesty as i know i have a really smelly cat. Bought in bulk and used in conjunction with the oz pet tray it good value in the long run when you put it against litters i needed to change on a near daily basis. i love the fact you can place it on the garden and it just smells like ordinary leaf/dirt litter. Not available in the supermarket which isn't a con for the product but but rather against the supermarkets.

Don't hesitate to buy this product as it works really well. My house doesn't have that kitty smell when you walk in the front door anymore. Very safe and doesn't clump and stick to the cat's paws like the dangerous clumping brands (they can block your cat's intestines when licked off fur) and lasts much longer than all the other types I've used. I'll only be using this product in the future.
Reduces smells dramatically compared to the usual supermarket suspects. My kitten has no problem with the product even when he used it for the first time.
Can be a bit more expensive to buy initially but check out the seller on Ebay for a much better deal. Works out cheaper in the long run as you don't have to change it as often.

Fabulous. I switched to OZ pet because I liked that it was an australian product and that it was environmentally friendly and uses renewable products. I was a little skeptical it wouldn't work because of this but it does and my cats are very happy with it! As am I who does the cleaning up!
Environmentally friendly
love that its made from renewable products
easy to clean and does not clump like other litters
not easy to find but my local pet shop can source it for me, little dear with having to get new trays but works out cheaper in the long run

Great concept - it is pricy to buy but I don't think you will regret it.
I have seen people copy the concept with seed growers trays with holes in the bottom from Bunnings but these look hashed together whereas the Oz-Pet system sieve is made for the tray.
I thought I had the whole litter thing sussed by using a high edged fish crate but I spotted this at 'Ekka' Brisbane Royal Show in August 2009.
I bought the basic tray and 20kg bag. This is still going! Cats now down to 1/4 cup of litter (or none at all when elder cat needs to do urine sa...

Excellent. It works brilliantly plus it addresses all those common issues with tracking that people always complain about - it's hard to believe it's not the most widely used form of litter.
This stuff is the best. It doesn't track out of the box at all, so there's never any spillage around the litterbox area, it all stays very neat and contained. The sieve system works really well, you don't smell cat pee and you don't see those tell tale dark cat pee stains that you see on top of regular litter either, so it's not offensive to the eye or nose...

Bad
Great concept and uses alot less litter, is expensive inital outlay however due to significant savings in litter system would pay for itself in a few months. You need to be prepared to clean out catch tray at least on a daily basis to avoid odours. I can't live with pee going on the floor so sadly i am going back to old hooded tray.
Great concept and uses alot less litter
Design needs altering in my view beacuse my cat sometimes pees toward the handles and due to the design pee can leak out all over the floor. Also she can miss edge altogether and pee all over the floor. Disapointed with design Needs hood cover.

Good system, but...
I bought this system because I wanted something that reduced odour from an old cat who pees constantly due to kidney issues and it does that very well. Very happy with it, but with the reservations mentioned
Easy to use, minimises odour
Design needs to be changed because urine can leak onto the floor if the cat sits near the handle area (which mine does a lot. Also the material is very brittle. Don't drop a tray - it'll crack

Simply the best !!
When we purchased two Burmese kittens from a breeder, they recomended the Oz Pet litter and tray, and we are impressed. As our cats are indoors it would be good to have a hood, but we simply have converted a large strong cardboard box with an entry cut out which works well. The breeder recomended putting newspapper in the base, great idea as it absorbs the urine, and easy to change daily, only needing to wash tray weekly.
once origanal puchase, litter works out inexpensive.

Terrible
It was a good buy, very cheap. Wasn't as absorbent as other wood based litters I have used But after trying to get rid of the stains, I dont think I will use this product again.
Cheap
Stained my cat, and mt couch. Is hardwood, takes a long time to break down, does eventually.
