Absolutely terrible tool.

published

A year ago i purchased a battery operated 500 series grinder. Its the most hopeless piece of equipment its ever been my misfortune to buy. It is SO underpowered it can only just sharpen a Redhead match stick, but not much more. I'm an experienced weekend handyman type but I've had to replace it with a real tool, one that can actually do even half a job. Absolutely terrible tool.

Purchased in February 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse for A$69.00.

Ozito Power X - Disappointing

published

Disappointing! The grinder constantly shuts off when put under low load conditions. For example cutting through 1/2” round steel, the grinder will stall after getting only 2mm through with low cutting pressure. Brand new with fully charged 4ah battery. I called Ozito and attempted to discuss the issue but the call centre person seemed to have no interest in the actual issue and suggested that I return the unit to Bunnings for a swap over. This kind of customer service is great but I expect some interest in the actual fault before brushing me off for a swap over. I swapped the unit over and the new unit is no different. Annoying.

Purchased in December 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse.

Turns off every 8.5 seconds and low battery life

published

This grinder has been very disappointing - from day 1 it has turned off roughly every 8.5-15 seconds during use and requires charging for an hour to get 15 minutes of this stop-start use on the largest battery in the shop (4.0) Definitely do not recommend, will be returning it tomorrow.

Really great unit.

published

Have used and abused this unit for about a year. Have cut and ground metals, vinyl flooring, tiles and used a flappy disc to shape and sand timbers and sharpen mower blades. By far this I'm my most used and abused ozito x change item.

The soft start is great, the unit feels great in the hand and it is adequate as long as you allow the tool to to the work and not force it. Battery fade sucks with the exchange range, but anyone worth their pay check should be able to get great results with this little beauty.

Ozito Power Xchange cordless PXAGS-500

published

Uses same batteries as the blower drill and whipper sniper I have .

The assembly instructions are not clear with no diagrams of how the blade and washers are fitted correctly. This is risky and not good for such a dangerous tool.

There are copious safety directions and warnings but I found better advice from Youtube. The Ozito Youtube site didn't advise about a safety shield.

The box did not include a cutter, which I bought it for. Most people would want a small cutter..

They're having issues returned the 125 brushless one 3 times - switch is locking and Bunnings at a loss to get it working. Then took the non-brushless 115 one and it refuses to work after a while - pitty loved them but really something majorly faulty with this batch?

Alan I have the model before the PXAGS-500 (batteries still fit), and I've had nothing but joy from the unit, it's possibly the best tool in my workshop. Maybe Ozito "updated" when it wasn't necessary. I cut a complete circumference on a 5000 gallon galv water tank with two batteries, the second one still had two red lights showing

I am having trouble turning my angle grinder on and off.
The switch appears to be jammed. I leave the switch on, then turn on
from the power point.

Slide it sideways to the right, then up. No problems with mine

Internal locking up forced me to disassemble this PXAGS-500 Ozito Angle Grinder as I had lost my original receipt. The device opens up OK but there is still something around the armature causing locking up in the forward direction, but revolves in the reverse direction. But there is no way to get at the brushes without special tools to remove the armature from it's housing. Appears to be a throw-away unit when the brushes wear out. I will be looking at the brushless unit if I stay with ozito.
