Good bang for your buck
I was in the market for a rice cooker which wouldnt cost as much as a tiger, but didn't want the cheap target ones. When there was a 20% off deal for good guys ebay I decided to buy this, it was roughly 160$.
I have been using it for the past 3 months and it cooks the rice perfectly! the japanese know how to make their rice cookers. If you are in the market for one and dont want a cheap one and dont want to spend 300+$ for a tiger/cuckoo etc get this!

Amazing Japanese style rice
After living in Japan for 5 years, I missed my amazing all in one Panasonic Rice Cooker. I couldn't bring the one I had back to Australia due to the wattage difference. After poor quality rice from a $20 rice cooker, I came across this model which is very similar to the one I had in Japan but this time with English settings and instructions - my husband can use it now! The steam mode isn't the best, but that's one of the extra settings it came with and I learnt to not bother with it. I use the white rice (with medium grain sunrice), mixed rice ...Read more
(medium grain white and brown sunrice 3:1) and jasmine rice settings and make perfect rice every time. There is no "clay pot" setting like Japanese ones, but the "normal rice/white rice" setting works perfectly making Japanese style "takikomi gohan" which is like a fried rice but not fried. It's a nice medium price for a very good rice cooker. If you want better but more expensive, I suggest a Tiger rice cooker as they are slowly becoming more popular and more available in Australia.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

love it
I use this everyday to cook Rice,Cakes, steam and soups I have had this for 12 months I found it hard to get one that had a cake mode like my last Panasonic rice cooker that I had for 7 years .Mind you my last one did not die I passed it on to my daughter who is still using it. You can not get this at all stores I bought mine at Bing Lee one of the few companies that carry it . If you want more out of your rice cooker then just cooking rice this is so worth the money

I bought mine off ebay, from the seller Bing Lee. It looks like this model has been discontinued. Bing Lee (on ebay) sells a similar model Panasonic SR-CN108WST and I suggest looking at that.
Thank you for that Kirstie. I will look at the other model.
Many thanks for your response.
