Phillips has updated their TV software and apparently they think they have a right to ad space on the TV you bought. They have introduced ads onto the main menu of the TV with their updated software.

Great TV for simple use.
This Philips TV is far from perfect, but it does the job if you casually watch television. At first glance, it seems perfect, but after a while, you begin to notice the little problems. They don't completely make TV impossible to watch but they are annoying if you are a picky individual.

In my experience of using this TV, I have found this effect is downgraded when in a dark room, the darkness of the TV really stands out in a bright room. To follow up on what I said before, the picture of this TV is VERY clear. Personally I watch a lot of ambiances, my favorite is a fireplace, which with this TV I can very easily see every little flame without a struggle. In my opinion, the clearness of this device is my favorite feature and is one of the main reasons I recommend this TV to others. In total, this is something I recommend to people who want value for their money, but if you have a more flexible budget I recommend the next-gen up to this but nevertheless this is a great TV that you might have to fiddle around with now and again but I am very glad that this is something I own.1 comment

Can not download Apps! Do not waste your money
Waste of money as you can not download your own apps only watch what is installed. Ensure you check what operating system Phillips is using before you purchase, I need to buy a setbox so I can now have access to all my favourite apps. DO NOT BUY PHILLIPS, other TV's out their cheaper and have access to all apps

Great TV...would buy again!
The title says it all...and I 'did' buy the same model again. The next week in fact! Now when viewing in the lounge room or family room you don't need to fumble with the remote and hope you don't select the wrong button. In saying that, the remote control has a hollow sound, but it works OK, not sure if this would stop anyone buying this model.

doesn't make any difference. Bluetooth speakers improve audio quality, but depends what you are watching as several audio options available in settings menu. No Apps to install like Skype, Yupp TV
Hi
This is Kalki Chaitanya and purchased this TV 50 inches 6100 series on Dec 2018. Very limited apps to browse and unable to install Skype to do video calling to home & Yupp TV app where you can watch regional channels from India. Other TVs like Samsung has these abilities and not much happy until I can install YUPP TV && SKYPE apps in my smart TV. Waste of money if PHILIPS didn’t provide solution to this

Fantastic TV
Great operating system (Android) plenty of apps. You can download apps. Great performance fantastic picture quality night setting is good you can choose your audio and picture settings. Has WiFi connectivity which is of good quality. It has 4 HDMI ports and 2 USB ports. Remote is user friendly. Great TV.

Very solid TV
This TV does everything I need from it. Smart TV functions are functional and work smoothly. Very happy with the colour quality, as well as the resolution of the 4K TV. I especially like the elegant look and styling of the TV. Not aware of any structural problems with my unit.

Very Fragile
I have dealt with a lot of technology, but never experienced a product this fragile.
I ordered one of these TVs for our school.
The first product was dead on arrival with a broken screen.
The replacement unit arrived. The screen broke with the slightest of touch.
Whilst I know, screens are not meant to be touched - the fragility of the screen meant it was unlikely to withstand a gentle dusting or someone inadvertently brushing against it.
I can not recommend this product - as it appears nor be designed for the real world.

Can I download Stan and SBS onto this tv? I can see an app library but the library is terrible. I’ve tried calling customer service.....25 minutes and counting in the queue.

Hi, after two phone calls and being on hold for an hour and 20 minutes I finally got to speak to someone. The TV does not have Stan nor does it have a library where you can download apps. It does not come with any of the standard apps you would expect of a product board in Australia. It also has an outdated web browser so you cannot watch Stan or other services through it. This television is terrible. Is outdated and does not have any of the features you expect of a smart TV
Customer service was also meant to get back to me about what screen mirroring app can be used on Apple iPhone so that I can at least Mirror apps onto the TV. They never got back to me. Really poor customer service
