So great so much easier to iron with
Life is easy with this unit. I am just hoping its going to last a long time as every iron I buy dies in 2 -3 years. THey just don't make them like they used to. But I guess I started on coal iron so they last because there is nothing to break except for your health. 100% Philips
Purchased for $250.00.

Thank god ironing is now easier
Good buy. Ironing is now easier. Saves time. Can remove the water tank to refill. The water lasts for the amount of ironing i have. No need tom add water for the entire ironing lasting more than 2 hours. The only thing i don't like is at the end of the cord, where it connects to the iron there is a plastic cover which is difficult to insert the cord..

Thank You Phillips!
Phillips I just want to say THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! For finally making a steam station that doesn't "think" for itself... I sew couture garments and need a reliable iron that allows me to dictate what type of fabric I am using and how much steam it requires and when...I have owned and loved many many phillips models in the past and when I had to upgrade there wasn't an iron like this in sight and I couldn't get the same model I had before because it was discontinued...say what?. my motto "if it ain't broke don't fix it!!!" And I think...Read more
it applies to this model GC7710/20... found only in myers...why I don't know, it should be everywhere... I thought was going to have to pay 500.00 and Bargain got it half price... much cheaper than the mistake I made below... Please keep this in your available line or make a suitable semi pro iron steam station for us seamstresses.... when I couldn't find a model in the Phillips range to suit my needs I was forced to go to a brand I never used before as it had the features I needed and ended getting a braun carestyle which was rubbish... I took it back to point of purchase and got my money back after only 6 months as it started spitting all over my customers garments... again THANK YOU!!!1 comment

Easier Ironing
Myer was clearing this out and I managed to get it for $199. I see theyve put it back to $499 since. Bargain.
I was considering a Bosch but decided I didnt want to spend so much, its an iron after all.
I like that i can remove the water tank to refill. The water lasts for the amount of ironing i have.
The one thing i dont like is at the end of the cord where it connects to the iron there is a plastic cover which covers the end of the cord. I find this is rough and sometimes rubs on the under of wrist as I am holding the iron. But actually it...Read more

Questions & Answers

Hi there, I just purchased a Philips GC7710 and started using it tonight. It's easy to use and heats up really quickly. However, there is a constant pumping sound when I press the steam button. The tank is full and there is enough steam being produced, but I find the sound very annoying. Is it normal?
Thanks, Christiane

Hey Christiane,
As long as you'll keep pressing, new water will be converted to steam, so new water has to be pumped into the iron. We would expect the behavior you describe to be normal. However if you do feel a little unsure about this, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer care service on on 1300 363 391 (AU). If you're located elsewhere, please get in touch with us through http://philips.com/support/.
Kind regards,
