Easy to clean and baby likes it
It is available in 3 colors and I picked yellow color. My baby is very excited everytime she sees this straw cup. Not only the color is attractive, the straw is very soft on baby's lips, the flow is also moderate on baby. The cup is also easy to clean with straw brush from Pigeon.

Okay but the straw can be chewed easily
This cup only lasted a few months before the straw became unusable as my son chewed the tip off and swallowed part of the straw. However, my son could easily drink out of this cup during his usage. I would only suggest this cup of you are willing to buy replacement straws on a frequent basis.

Wonderful Durable Cup!!
My 16 month old daughter has been using the Pigeon Mag Mag sippy cup now for about 7 months, she has thrown it on average around 10 times a day (bearing in mind this is an average, sometimes it is much more :-)).. She has thrown the cup on floor boards, cement, grass, carpet etc.. and from both standing and in her high chair.. The cup has never leaked from these throwing tantrums nor has it broken which I am extremely (pleasantly) surprised!!
In the beginning, the straw was a little hard to suck from (well so I thought as when I sucked li...Read more
ttle came out) BUT the way adults suck is very different to toddlers as toddlers chew on the straw and then suck (which I discovered makes the fluid travel easier through the straw).. Upon teething my daughter chewed her straw and I thought I would need to buy a new cup which I was a little upset about, not because I had to fork out money for a new cup (as this cup was money well spent with the throwing mileage) but because my daughter and that cup have history together, so imagine how excited I was when I was told you can buy replacement straws :-))) !!! When I went to buy the replacement straw I found a great value pack that had the straw top, bottom and a new PINK lid!! My existing lid is yellow and I do love it but what girl doesn't love pink so I quickly purchased it (which I must add was the last on the shelf - WINNING!!!).. I see that others have commented that their little ones had difficulty with the new straw and I guess as the straw was new I found it a little restrictive also but once I bit on the straw the fluid did come through which was great when my daughter was starting to drink but now as she is a seasoned straw sucker I felt that the flow was a bit slow. I simply contacted Pigeon to express my concern and they were absolutely wonderful advising that a new straw design allowing faster liquid flow was available and I must have had the old model and that they would replace my straw. I am so happy with Pigeons products and after having experience with them personally, their customer service I found outstanding. I see from previous comments that a few people have been unhappy but all it takes is an email or phone call to express a concern. Remember than when manufacturing a product, the way it is perfected is through trial and error and the only way things are improved is from feedback.. Thank you Pigeon for providing outstanding products, it is reassuring to know my daughter is using your products xxSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

This cup is a lot of trouble
On one hand, this cup is amazing. On the other, it's a pain in the neck!
This is the only cup my 1-year-old will drink from. I've tried a few but she really took to this one, I think because of the combination of handles and a straw. The angle of the straw means they get almost every last drop of liquid io the cup.
Two things bug me though:
1. What everyone has said about the straw. I have purchased 2 cups and one had a good straw, and the other was too hard to drink from.
2. The straw part inside the cup is detachable, and detach...Read more

Old design better. Why fix something that is not broken?
Still have the old straw cup but needed an extra one and couldn't find old design in the shops anymore so bought this thinking it would be just as good if not better. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. The straw takes so much effort to suck out of and you don't much liquid out of it despite the effort. It is hard to clean and put together it is not worth the money, but reluctant to throw it away as it cost so much to buy. Will have a look online to see if any shops have any old stock of the straw cups they are trying to get rid of.
Bigger cup size (larger volume), bubs likes the handles
Doesn't work, expensive, too many parts - fiddly

Waste of money
If I could give 0 stars I would. The straw cup is terrible, I can only get water out of the straw if I suck hard enough to give me a headache, so there is no chance my 8 month old baby would be able to use it. Save yourselves the $ and buy another brand. Very disappointing for a reputable brand.
Good handles
Doesn't work, expensive.

Excellent design, except it's too hard to suck!
Finally found a straw cup that makes sense.
I have bought a number of straw cups for my baby, but was happy with none of them.
Most of them too big, with no handles, would leak upside down, hard to wash the inside (as the bottle was too narrow).
This cup is wonderful! Small and round with handles so it's easy for babies to hold. Transparent with measuring lines so it's easy to see how much is left and so on. No leakage at any angle. Very easy to disassemble and clean too.
The only downside is that the cross cut is too small, making it ...Read more
really difficult to suck the liquid out. I have made the cross cut slightly wider myself by cutting the tip of the straw a bit more. Works just fine. I bought a second one recently to alternate while in wash. Very happy with it!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bad design impossible to suck
I needed a second cup for my 10 month old but couldn't find the original design which I believe has now been discontinued. I ended up buying the new design but I'm sorry to say it is a complete fail! The first time my daughter used it I noticed that she was sucking but no water was coming out. Initially I thought it was blocked but all I had put in it was water. I then tried sucking from the straw myself and i couldn't believe how hard it was to suck before a few drops of water made it up the straw and into my mouth. I have stopped using it aft...Read more
er several failed attempts. For the price I think it's a rip off! Yes it says it doesn't leak but that's because you can't get any water from the straw. Can't suck much liquid from straw. Even an adult would struggle to drink from the straw.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Impossible to suck liquid up
This product is an complete fail! It is not possible to suck the liquid up the straw (which is, fundamentally, what the product is intended for). If I could give it zero stars, I would. I'm going to take it back to Chemist Warehouse, and hope they refund my money.
Very expensive and fails to work.

Bad design
I prefer the old design. Wanted to get a new cup for my 2nd baby but the old design is no longer selling. No choice but to buy the new design. This new design is really a bad design. My 15 month old baby couldn't even suck anything out from the cup. Even adults had a hard time sucking water out. Really a waste of money. Can pigeon do anything about it? Can we refund money from pigeon?
nice colour

Very disappointed - gone back to using old design
The 2012 mag mag straw cup is impossible for an 8 month or even a 12 month old to drink from. We loved the old design but wanted a second cup as a spare. On opening the product I tested it myself and had trouble getting the water up the straw. I understand the concept of the hole at the straw tip (to eliminate spills) however it is pointless if baby can't even drink from the cup. Given the price of this cup and the reputation of pigeon products I expected better.
Extra 20 mls and great colours
Too difficult for baby to suck water up the straw due to the spill proof tip

Bring back the old design
The new design is NOT an improvement! I had to trim the tip off the straw just to make it useable because my daughter couldn't get anything out of it, even I found it difficult and I understood the mechanics. I really wish I could buy the old design somewhere because the new one just doesn't cut it. Please bring the old straw cup back!
The colors are nice.
Too difficult to use because of straw design, had to cut tip off

Old design straw cup is the only cup my baby uses. He finds the new design too difficult.
The pigeon mag mag step 3 straw cup is the only straw cup my baby likes, and we have tried them all. It was recommended by the speech pathologist as the best brand for babies little mouths and their development. The old design cup allows him to use the cup with or without handles (which the new design does not)
The old design has a thicker straw that is not cross cut so it is easier for him to suck (the new design has a cross cut that means it does not leak but you need a lot of sucking power to get anything up - you actually need to bite do...Read more

New design too difficult to use
We use our older style straw cup all the time, and wanted a second cup in case we left it somewhere. The older style cup was so easy for my 10.5 month old to use. It was the first thing that he would drink water out of (at 8 months), and still the one that he will drink the most water out of. The new style cup? I can barely get any water out of it, so no chance for a baby. I am really disappointed in this cup.
A choice of colour
Really difficult to get water out of. More smaller parts to wash up.

Old on was useable by baby
My 10.5 mo had no problems at all getting a drink from the old style - sure it could leak if he turned it upside down, but what baby doesn't make some mess at meal times?! The new one is bulky, baby has to bite on the straw to get a drink and it's not working for us.
Baby has to bite down on straw to get a drink.

Terrible
Overall I am really disappointed in the new design mag mag straw cup from Pigeon. We purchased this cup as we threw away our older straw cup (shown in the image) as it was not BPA free. We wanted the BPA free one and could only find the new design. Apart from leaking ALL the time no matter what I do its so time consuming to put together each day. We like to wash all the parts each night as not to get mould in the straw so its a real ordeal each morning. I have bought some easier sipper cups for my son that don't leak but I just need to tr...Read more
ansition him from the straw as he loves the straw. Its also a shame as the mag mag cup costs more than the other good BPA free brands so I am not sure why now that the new design is so annoying. Smaller cup so its easier for my son to handle * New design is terrible. * It leaks a lot more than the original one. * Its REALLY hard to clean, especially the top which does not fold back completely * It takes ages to assemble each morning - drives me nutsSimilar opinion? Much better design than the previous version
This cup is great for toddlers starting out with a straw. The straw attachment is a new, simpler design and it's angled to ensure baby gets all the liquid out even if they tip it up.
Compact, easy to use, easy for baby to access all the drink with the straw.
Still quite a few components, compared to similar products on the market. It's easy to lose things.

Excellent
I love the mag mag system and wish I had come across it before buying heaps of bottles - I would have just used this system from baby to toddler. I love that the straw cup is small enough to fill up without it being too heavy for my daughter and that it also small enough to fit in my handbag when we go out. The measurements on the side are also handy. Better than anything though is the ease in which my daughter transitioned from bottle to sippy to straw with this cup.
Small enough to fill without being too heavy, fits nicely into handbag, interchangable tops (teat, sipper and straw).
Can leak if not put together properly.

Excellent
I looked for baby training cups that does not contain BPA (BPA now banned for baby products in some US states).
Pigeon was the only one free of BPA at the store.
The cup is slightly smaller than others, but my daughter can enjoy drinking from it on her own because it's small and light.
The cup also has measurement (in ml) on the side, so I find it handy to gauge how much water my daughter is drinking, or when diluting something with water to the correct syrup:water ratio.
BPA free
light weight
easy to clean
has measurement on side

Good
This is a great bottle and we're using it on our second child - just by changing the bottle top! All straw bottles need a proper straw brush to clean thoroughly so don't get this without the brush! The straw doesn't have a valve so freely flows when the cap is opened so recommended for toddlers who are able to close the lid afte drinking.
Lightweight, leakproof when lid is closed, easy grip, easy to assemble and clean
Straw can get mouldy if not cleaned properly with straw brush, air hole on the lid can leak if the upper straw cap doesn't sit over straw properly. Can flick liquids out of straw when cap is opened

Questions & Answers
Annasked
Is Pigeon Mag Mag straw cup to be sterilised daily?
1 answer
Hi Ann,
I didn't sterilise the cup as my daughter was over 1 year old at the time, I just washed it in hot soapy water, you could ask the company if it can be sterilised, I can't see it being a problem but I don't know for sure.
Good luck
