Do I have to use a moisturizer with my medic machine?

1 answer
Revitive
Revitive M.Revitive

Hi william m.

It is not necessary that you use moisturiser however we do find that it can help to improve the stimulation that you experience from your Revitive. This is particularly true at the moment - as we head into the cooler months our skin tends to get dry - this can result in a lower stimulation felt. Drinking water can also help.

If you find that you are already well hydrated and you are not seeing a reduction in the sensation you are getting from your Revitive then you may not need to worry.

Please be sure to give us a call to discuss if you would like more information on hydration with regards to your Revitive. Our Customer Service team can be contacted on 07 5443 9767

I was given my mother’s Revitive ix it has power as in the lights come on when turned on. But no vibration when feet placed on.
It has been used for approximately 2 years

Hi steve s.

Revitive uses Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) to contract and relax your muscles, which may increase the blood flow in your legs and feet. The sensation of EMS is quite different to vibration - it is more commonly likened to a tingling sensation.

Given that the lights are coming on, it is receiving power. When the device is on, you need to place both bare feet on the foot pads (you need to have both feet on to create the circuit). Then slowly increase the intensity setting until you feel the sensation in your feet and legs. As you get used to the sensation you can gradually increase the intensity until you get strong but comfortable leg muscle contractions.

If you try this and feel it is still not working correctly, please give our customer service team a call to discuss - 07 5443 9767 - they can run through some trouble shooting and if there is an issue, they can organise any necessary steps.

Warm Regards.

Hi Herb,

Thanks for your message. It is possible that there may be an issue with your power chord. Do you have a Revitive stockist close by (maybe the store you purchased it from)? They will usually have a replacement power chord that you could test to see if this is the issue.

Alternatively if you give our Customer Service team a call - 07 5443 9767 they can discuss the issue with you and help find a solution.

I checked the power cord with A voltmeter and got 5.02 volts. So it appears there’s no problem with the power cord. I believe the problem is with the main battery and I can’t really get to that. So what do I do now. I know of no revivtive store in Minnesota to take it too. Can I send it back for repair or exchange?

Revitive
Revitive M.Revitive

Hi Herb,

Thanks for investigating the issue further. You've reached the Australian head office for Revitive. The best thing to do is to touch base with the US Head Office. You can go to the local website - www.us.revitive.com - you should be able to find the contact details for your area.

I hope this helps.

Best to get researched opinion from Revitive consultants on that matter and as advised by Medical experts.

Revitive
Revitive M.Revitive

Hi coroman,

It would be best to check with the treating doctor. Generally speaking, Revitive is safe to use with metallic implants however there is a small possibility that the sensation may feel slightly more intense close to the site of the metal implant. If this is experienced we suggest you lower the intensity to a comfortable level. If any discomfort is experienced you should stop use.

It sounds like the person is in a healing phase - it would be best to check with their Doctor before use - it is important that their current condition and future treatment plan is considered.

If we can offer any more information, please feel free to give us a call. Our Customer Service team can be reached on 07 5443 9767.

I am not a Doctor, just a user of my Revitive, but for me having had two new knees put in at the same time and having had very large cuts for that done on both knees, they have certainly healed beautifully, and my swelling goes down more every days, circulation and Muscle stimulation is my help to my healing I believe.

Ted Price

Hi Wedgie, like Adrianna I am also not a doctor so cannot answer your question on wound healing. I can, however, say that after about 20 years becoming increasingly immobile due to fractured bones, due to severe osteoarthritis and osteoporosis, my muscles had wasted to a great degree. The electronic muscle stimulation, after a month, has had marked positive results. All the best, Ted

Revitive
Revitive M.Revitive

Hi Wedgie,

(and thank you Adriana and Ted!!). I agree - it might be worth a chat to your doctor to make sure there are no underlying medical conditions that may be responsible for the slow healing.

Revitive uses Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) to contract and relax your muscles, which may increase oxygen rich blood flow in your legs and feet. If your doctor clears you to use the device, it is important to that you do not apply foot-pads or Body Pads directly on open wounds or rashes, swollen, red, infected, or inflamed areas or skin eruptions (such as phlebitis, thrombophlebitis, varicose veins, cellulitis)

Is it safe to use with a total hip replacement my son bought one for me as my ankles get swollen and feet ache after being on them for to long

1 answer
Revitive
Revitive M.Revitive

Hi Chris,

Generally speaking, REVITIVE is safe to use after a hip replacement. There is a small chance that electrical stimulation may feel more intense close to a metallic implant. It is safe to continue use provided no pain is experienced.

That said, it would depend on how long ago your surgery was and how your recovery is going. We do recommend that anyone with a pre-existing medical condition checks in with their doctor before use. We also ask you to apply caution when using EMS after recent surgical procedures (within the last six months) as stimulation may disrupt your healing process.

I hope this is helpful. Please feel free to contact our Customer Service team if you have any further questions or require more clarification. They can be reached on 07 5443 9767.

Hi my dad has been using this but lately he has it on 99 and dosent feel a thing. We have all tried it and cant get past 20 so theres nothing wrong with the machine. He has fluid retention and suffers from gout from time to time. Can you tell me the reason he cant feel anything? Thanks Flori

1 answer
Revitive
Revitive M.Revitive

HI there Floss,
Thank you for writing in with your question.

Many people experience hydration issues like drier skin during the cold, winter season. When the skin is dry, it is more difficult to feel the Electrical Muscle Stimulation. Water is an excellent conductor of electricity and if the body is less hydrated (below 60%), then the stimulation may be less, so it is always important to remain well hydrated.

Try this with your Dad:
- Moisturize his legs and soles of his feet with a moisturizer
- Drink a big glass of water right before using his REVITIVE
The device uses the body to create the electrical circuit, and a well hydrated body will help optimize the stimulation he feels from REVITIVE.
