My husband and I have started the process of taking ACA to VCAT.
I can't believe all this negativity I am reading on this business, wish we had seen this prior.
I will give you all a more detailed outline of what they are putting us through shortly.
In the meantime, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, you will regret it.
WE WOULD NOT WANT ANYONE TO GO THROUGH WHAT WE ARE GOING THROUGH

Rollaway Shutters also known as ACA Home Improvements
Customer service is without doubt the worst I have ever experienced. Office staff are argumentative & aggressive. Their motto seems to be that the customer is always wrong! Go anywhere but ACA Home Improvements - Beyond dreadful - my guess is they spend most of their time trying to defend themselves in VCAT & I also guess they more often that not lose. Won’t be long before ACA Home Improvements change their name - even better I hope they go under

Terrible service expwrience.
Terrible services, customers services is very poor as well, won't recommend this to people. Since deposit is paid until now already 2 months, but still waiting for the installation of roller blinds n flyscreens, Every time I call up, they said someone will get back to me within two days, but finally I have to call them n ask again n again.

Terrible - our story with Rollaway goes back 2 years now!
I'm not the type to write reviews, but after reading all these reviews I can't believe how patient we have been with Rollaway. We signed up with them in Feb 2015 (our order is between $15k to $20k). Our first part of the order (plantation shutters) arrived in a reasonable time and was installed by Norm - no issues. Our next part of the order is 6 eZip blinds. We have been waiting since then for the correct installation of these blinds. We unfortunately paid the whole amount in December 2015 which is why we are being treated like crap ever...Read more
since. The installers would not turn up to the job until I paid the full amount. The first installers came in Dec 15 and completely stuffed up the installation. We have been waiting since for them to be re-installed. The blinds are sitting in our alfresco. They company makes appointments and then don't turn up. This has happened several times, yet we have taken time off from our jobs to be there. Several calls to Consumer Affairs has not helped. I think we will have to go down the VCAT track. We have just had enough. I feel sorry for the ladies in the office, they try to help, it's Jim and the installers who have no idea how to treat customers.Similar opinion? Unprofessional at best
My experience spans over 12 months because that's how long it took from when I went ahead with the order to when the product was installed and finalized. There were issues with partially faulty shutters, which isn't even my complaint. My complaint is with the unprofessional manner in which it was rectified. I was never, NEVER, contacted. I had to do all the calling and following up, and still could not get a resolution. The only way was through consumer affairs. As compensation I was offered a $100 myer voucher or to have that amount taken off the final bill owing. What a slap in the face. Avoid at all costs if you prefer good customer service.

Omg where to start!!!!!
I had plantation shutters installed in 2014, the process was fine, however after 6-8mths I noticed they started cracking! I contacted them- they never got back to me. I left it as we were starting to renovate & didn't have the time to worry, I knew I had a 5 year warranty so I waited till I had time to follow it up further!

e from water on timber, this can cause the paint to bubble, peel and flake. This is not a defective product. Due to its nature, all timber products can be repaired and repainted. We can supply you with a sample colour swatch to colour match. If your plantation shutters are going to be exposed to wet condition, the best solution is to replace your timber shutters with PVC shutters as suggested. We are happy to supply new PVC shutters at cost price to solve your issue.This is unbelievable - what happened to my 5 year warranty!!???? Which you clearly state in your contact.

o advise you that you're faulty product has broken again(When you guys already come out once to fix the faulty blind and wasn't told about the outstanding account then) and I needed somebody to come out and fix the faulty product. Unprofessional, untrustworthy, unreliable, unapproachable these are probably the companies better qualities. The tradies we had come to our house damaged both the inside and outside of our house, and have lied about coming back to repair damage.

Worst company EVER PLEASE AVOID
This is one of the most un organised companies EVER.. no one calls you back.. i have been waiting over a year for a job to be completed.. then they have the cheek to send a letter saying they will come on to my property and take away the rollershutter... The job has never been completed?? they receptionist rebecca and jess never call you back or follow up on anything. Shocking service - took almost 1 year to complete job, then threatened me with legal action
I wish I had read reviews before signing the contract. There are so many reviews with the same story as mine.
Signed the contract in July 2015, they didn't complete my job until May 2016. When I asked for a discount, they send me a legal letter saying they have engaged their lawyers.
Avoid at all costs!

ACA stay away
Quoted 10 weeks for delivery, took 40 weeks. Wrong sizes & wrong items were sent to which the company tried to blame us. Luckily we had most things in written form. There was little to no contact from the office. I would call to find out the progress of our items to be told the person I wanted to speak to was in a meeting or not in the office that day & that they would call me back, which they very rarely did. We negotiated right from the beginning that we wouldn't pay in full first & I'm thankful that we withheld some of the payment until they completed it but even though there was an outstanding balance, they still weren't bothered about finishing & customer satisfaction.

On 25th Feb 2016 I had [Name Removed], who was very nice, come give me a quote Price was good and he seemed to care what I wanted. Good locking system, double glazing etc. I asked where they were made and he said China.

Had my shutters installed a month ago in 2 bathrooms and 2 loos - they have made a world of difference to the look of the rooms - I didn't know whether I should do them or not as we have never had anything on our bathroom windows. The put protection on the floors, wiped down everything, cleaned any small mess and generally left the place in excellent order. The wait was 8 weeks but I was told that up front so had no issue with the timing and so worth the wait. August 19th 2016 Update: Perfect score - once again After previously having some shutters installed in our home, I ordered some more for our front lounge room. Once again the service provided by Jill, the representative who came to quote/suggest/colour consult on shutters, Norm who is just the best "tradesman" I have ever encountered, and his assistant Guy who is getting exceptional training from Norm and I'm sure will be equally super. This company really does provide quality products i.e. shutters for me, it has great service and delivers on its promise. What more can I say. Very happy, From initial consultation with Joe through to installation with Norm, very professional. Great product and price. Took a long time for shutters to arrive but was told it would take 8-12 weeks so was prepared for this, (although I rang to check progress with office twice but didn't get Rung back) Blinds look fabulous when arrived, installers great.

Disgusting service
We paid a deposit for our security screens in January and now we are in June still no security doors! Call after call they just tell us the same thing 'we will get back to after speaking to management'

Terrible Customer Service
What a joke of a company. Even if they paid me and installed the screens for free I still would refuse. Right now I am pulling the shutters down and will be personally delivering these back to ROLLAWAY SHUTTERS!
October 13th 2017 Update: Stay Away!!
Guys stay away from this company. I have had issues with this cowboy of a company. After going down in person to the show room and infront of future customers i unleashed my fury. Funny enough 2 days later my blinds (New ablinds) Was delivered and installed. Funny that ay. My advice id rather go Bunnings and by a bed sheet to put over my windows than get blinds or anything for a matter of fact from this Rogue company.

Delivered on time and high quality.
I ordered 4 plantation shutters for our 1910 Victorian Cottage in Coburg. I have bought PVC plantation shutters in past properties - but changed our mind to the white basswood shutters purely from a durability perspective. We only had one drama - only 3 windows were measured and quoted initially - there was a slight misunderstanding. hmm where to start with these monkeys lol ok i had shutters put in 10 yrs back they were on time done a great job but one thing people u dont know ok once u pay the money do not pay the rest like say around $2000 why because that way u have any problems they want there money and will have to send someone around to fix the problem properly i want to ask many u here shutters u windows have u ever tried open them up with a screw driver or u hand no i bet so try this and i tell u be shocked becaause once a shutter been done there shouldnt be any attempts u could open it up at all,but they did and as i said they want there remain money they had to send someone out to fix it properly and they did since then no problems 10 yrs running but wind up cable dont waste u time and money i gone with a local guy charges $335 german motor and there fantastic remote control or u want connect u power bill,prefer remote anyway do u homework first who u can trust

We got the quote in the first few days of jan... still waiting!! We spoke to Consumer Affairs for legal advice and they said that we were well within our rights to cancel the contract! They also mentioned that we weren't the first ones to have issues with rollaway of late. The installers we spoke to are subcontracted and said the company is getting worse with so many people cancelling contracts on them.
One other funny thing they said is that the owner of the business puts on 2 or 3 positive reviews everytime a negative one gets posted to try and counteract the bad comments. How sad!!
We've had our blinds for about a year now. I only found this review site as a friend of ours told us Rollaway were on it and to leave a review to stop others making the same mistake. @roachy, you'll be very lucky if you get your blinds in that time frame. Our blind lines don't match up and they keep 'falling' open. If they're any longer than the three weeks quoted (as Bianca said), I would strongly advise cancelling your order and going through a different supplier.

Hi Kathy, they didn't removed them but the installer waited an hour for me to finalise the payment & for the office to confirm it before he would leave.
Grrr ....I now have to wait for another shutter for one of my windows to be manufactured ....so over Rollaway !!!
I have held final payment as I don't believe I will ever see that shutter. Cheers

To cut a long story short here is a brief explanation of what my husband and I are experiencing with ACA:- Mid December 2017 - The Sales Rep comes to our house to measure and quote (He is fabulous, we have no complaints about Joe). We decide to go ahead that night and pay a 50% deposit on the phone. A few days later the actual installers come to do the final measure and quote (not a problem with Norm and Guy either, they are fantastic). This is when we learn we are unable to have these plantation shutters due to the opening mechanisms on our windows and he also points out to us that every single window sill is bowed or crooked, the plantation shutters would highlight this more!! My husband and I really want these shutters so the installer leaves it with us to see if we can resolve the issues. With xmas coming up, I was assured we could do some research to resolve the issues and they were happy to refund our deposit if it wasn't possible. After a few weeks we reluctantly came to the conclusion that we couldn't have the plantation shutters. The window opening devices were going to cost a fortune to replace, we have 13 windows. Mid January 2018 - I send a text to the installer followed by an email to the sales rep advising we haven't had much luck and we were not prepared to spend $3-$5k to fix change the handles. We didn't even bother looking into changing the window ledges because it was already too expensive. I receive an email from ACA asking for proof of how much it would cost? Seriously!, clearly none of their business but I sent it to them anyway. They're manager Jessica is looking after our case but she doesn't respond to emails or return phone calls (3 in total). I finally get in touch and am losing patience. She is yet to discuss with her Director and get back to me. I get a call the following day from her and in her opinion, she thinks the cost of changing the window mechanism is affordable. She also proceeds to tell me that I do have the option to install the shutters on the outside of the window instead of within the frame. I tell her my husband and I don't like this look and it wouldn't suit our home. She proceeds to tell me it looks fine and that we would not be getting our deposit back because in her opinion we have other options. I am furious, so I immediately call the installer to discuss with him. The installer informs me we don't even have the option to install on the outside of the window, basically, we cannot have the plantation shutters at all. So they've taken our deposit even though we cannot have these shutters with the style of window we have and they are now refusing to refund our deposit. That is when I wrote my review above and my husband and I start the process of lodging a claim with VCAT. Funnily enough, the following day I get a phone call from the Sales Rep saying they had reconsidered and our deposit would be refunded in full the following week (which was last week). I ask him to send this to me via email in writing. We are still waiting for our deposit. DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS. DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY. GOOGLE AND YOU WILL READ MANY MANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS.
