My mother has an Regal Self Propelled Mulch-N-Catch Key Start lawn mower but the problem we have been having is the battery only stays charged for at least two maybe three times when starting it by the key...I can't seem to find any where online about how long the battery should stay charged for??? .. Considering it takes at least 15 hours to recharge it to only get a couple of key starts from it ... PLEASE HELP its doing my full frontal in :/

What you describe is exactly what happens when a battery is near the end of it's life or goes prematurely bad. If it's under warranty, best to take it to a Rover dealer.

how does handle lock mechanism work?

Works fine - releasing the bar stops the motor. I have no problem with the way it works.
I tie it off with nylon string is a pain but even if you let it kill the engine every time you empty the catcher this mower starts very easily and quickly. Personally I've never had an issue with it, just tie it off til your finished.

What kind of petrol do you use? Unleaded 91?
Thanks!

Hi, I use Premium 98 for all of my small engines however there has not been any noticeable differences with maintenance or life out of any of them. It's a personal choice only, I believe any grade octane petrol would be suitable. Hope that answers your query. Cheers.
I use the best fuel available because 98octane keeps your motor cleaner and gives a bit more power too.
It costs very little extra for such a small tank, so it's a no brainer for me.
Use any clean fuel containing less than 10% ethanol. They're a small engine, not fussy. 98 is a waste of money and won't give any more power as these engines can't make use of additional timing available with higher octane. That said they don't use that much to begin with.
