A total rip off
10 day south pacific cruise $2500.00 each no fridge in room, rip off drink prices, food is average
high pressure sales tactics to pay for high end dining, poor entertainment, and their very generous 61 US
cents to the AUD . even thought the market that day was 68 cents . everything is in US dollars, got stung
buying a bag of 90 gram kettle chips $9.99 US dollars no wonder they don't put a price tag on them.
$2.00 US for a 500 ml bottle of water . $6.50 US to use the atm machine.
Would never go with them again .

Constant upselling and expensive overpriced spa treatments
Overall trip was ok. Very interesting New Zealand ports. Great looking ship and was very clean. All staff were friendly except for the spa staff who were abrupt and unhelpful. Spa services were generally overpriced (they would charge an extra 18% for staff payment once you had booked in for the treatment). I noticed numerous unauthorised charges the day after disembarking the ship which I'm still trying to get reimbursed. If you travel with this cruise line constantly check your charge card.

Destroyed my luggage and now a pain to deal with
Just returned from a 12night cruise around New Zealand on this boat. This review is about the service I am receiving after I discovered my relatively new 'hardcase spinner luggage' was cracked through its outer shell in two separate corners near two of the four wheels and now needs replacing as it irreparable (as advised by brands authorised repair centre).
I discovered the damage as soon as I arrived at my temporary home in Australia and called the Royal Caribbean customer service line.
Issues:
Dealing with a call centre overseas who are not ...Read more

Rethink this ship
This ship was smaller than past ships I had been on and thinking of the size... smaller means less things to do. If you want to lay about all day and do nothing this is the ship for you.... that's if you can get a deck chair, people spending all day in them, minding them etc. If you want to have a variety of activities get on a bigger ship.
My biggest gripe is the food, I cant have gluten and I gave Royal Caribbean months in advance notice about this, the main meals were ok not great. The desserts were a complete joke, all they offered was mou...Read more

Omnivores and Vegans love Cascades Dining
We are a family of 6 and and booked 3 consecutive cabins with windows on Deck 3. Radiance Of The Seas were offering some good prices on a one-way 10 day cruise from Sydney to Auckland on Jan 14. This was our first cruise with Royal Caribbean, first cruise to NZ and the biggest ship we have been on. And the weather was perfect.
The cabins were neat and tidy and large enough for 2 people. It would have been very squeezy with 3 or 4 people. The bathroom had a wall cabinet and a 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner dispenser and tablets of soap. There were ...Read more

Best ever Xmas and New Year.
I enjoyed this cruise every moment. The service was excellent, the food delicious, the entertainment in abundance, the ship tastefully decorated.
The coffee did not taste good, but there were alternatives, chocolate and a variety of tea. For my taste the volume of the music was too loud, but in all it was very enjoyable.

Glass in food
My husband from Sydney and i went on a RCC being American ive had cruises before but not RCC ran out of Miami ..We had a balcony suite, and headed to beauitiful New Zealand. We had many alarm issues causing us to be woken up at 2am one occasion, and many other times we were asleep. It was repaired day 3, it was a faulty battery. However what came as a huge shock and has never happened to us before was encountering glass in my husbands food. He almost swallowed a piece of glass looking like a pixel from a windshield of a car, he immediately spa...Read more
t it out realizing it wasn't food. RCC response after taking the glass away!!! Come tomorrow for a tour of our kitchen 35$ a person. Needless to say i was apalled, they offered us 50% future cruise thus coming from corporate in USA. I refused, please be careful on RCC all they care about is bottom line . Not your safety...i am so thankful my dear husband was not injured and im getting the word out about what happened as i am able to do so, cause it did and they dont careSimilar opinion? EXCELLENT ENTERTAINMENT BUT POOR SECURITY ONBOARD
Booked my first cruise through Cruiseworld and due to work commitments, I did not have time to read the brochure. Never advised what was included in cruise, just read the information for yourself. Travelled Sydney to Noumea and the Elvis/Buddy Holly/Johnny Cash/Roy Orbison impersonators were amazing. I booked a spa appointment and attempted to cancel same and it took five people before the cancellation occurred. Accommodation was too close to the music, an internal cabin, staff were first class and dining was excellent although more grilled foods should be made available as fried is unhealthy.

False information
I called to reschedule my trip and was told that I had until August to do so without penalties however when I rang last Monday they tell me I would lose almost entire deposit. Given misleading information and not willing to budge. As a loyal user of this cruiseline this is the end for me!!!

Worse ship for your cruise holiday
Booked through Cruise 1st travel agent. Their service and help was very poor.
Did mistakes with our details in their booking and we have to pay them to change it, even though it was their fault.
We booked as groups of four couples, windows view cabins but were given obstructed view windows.
Royal Caribbean Cruise was over priced and we all had the most horrible experience in a cruise, very noisy, windows caught winds and wave water, hardly can see anything through the window. It was our 11th cruise but 1st and worse at Royal Caribbean.

Not impressed
I booked this Christmas and New Years Cruise 11 months ago as I wanted to do something different for this time of the year. The first few days on board were ok as we were just cruising the seas but when we got into Ports it was very unorganised. Especially in Akarua where we were Tendered in by boats, very unorganised and stood on Pier for 2 hours waiting for Tenders to come back and load. No information was given as to why we had to what so long in the freezing cold and raining pier.
To be honest the entertainment was absolutely terrible, couldn't sing. There was not much entertainment at all except for singing a musical.
Food was good Windjammers was the best Cascade terrible.

Restaurant Review Onboard, Chef's Table & Chops Grille - October 2017
Keeping in mind that this was our first Royal Caribbean branded cruise(Rock The Boat Cruise #7) and only our 3rd cruise, 1) PO Princess Jewel, 2nd Carnival, Spirit, So the short review, of a seven night cruise(South Pacific) with lots of Rockers is if you don’t enjoy Real Loud Rock and Roll, heaps of electric guitar don’t go, It was so busy, apparently this yearly cruise is always fully booked out, bodies everywhere!
The chefs table $$, was very enjoyable food presented to us with the Chef talking(prior to each of 5 courses about how exactly ...Read more

Wonderful entertaining, best Japanese chef ever on our cruise. a delightful voyage.
Booking was done trough the net, no problems at all .Our cabin preference was granted and all onboard services were excellent. Cruising from HAWAII through TAHITI, BORA BORA and NEW ZEALAND, back to AUSTRALIA was absolutely a dream, I cannot speak higher of the benefits we enjoyed on "HER" maiden cruise.

Not as good as it used to be
Evidence of cost cutting everywhere. Very small portions in dining room at lunch time . Giovannis food was terrible compared to past visits. Chops grille great as always. Staff numbers have been cut. Izumi service and food very good. Ship has been refurbed partially since our last visit but next cruise office has taken a lot of the seating space from cafe latitudes . There was a problem with a gastro bug from a previous cruise so whole ship had to be sanitised! It was handled really well but the staff were really under the pump for the first th...Read more
ree days. This used to be my favourite ship but this time we were disappointed. Cruise director just amazing! Such energy from the entertainment staff. Our aft balcony cabin was great as usual. Bed comfortable. Our table waiters really great. All the crew are lovely friendly people. Overall we enjoyed the trip and if you hadn't been on the ship before you would think it was great. Just disappointed this time. Too much cost cutting.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Woke up covered in waste from busted sewer!!!
My Mum and Aunt just returned on 31 January 2016. One of the final nights of the cruise, My mum awoke in the early hours of the morning. Drenched in human waste, as the upstairs sewer was leaking and it filtered through a light fitting above my mums bed. It soaked my Mum, her matress and pooled on the sheets. It was a balcony cabin. They were moved to an inside cabin, then later through the day (after they had approached desk services again) moved to another cabin with a smaller balcony. They were offered 10 percent off a future cruise.
My ...Read more
Mum contacted Royal carribbean and Royal Caribbean emailed back with their offer...My Aunt gets $700 AU and...wait for it...they're offering Mum $219 AU off the price of a future cruise. My Mum had to have blood tests when she returned home from her dream holiday that turned into a foul nightmare. She paid in real money and they only want to offer her a future credit. In the past 8 years, she has travelled on 10 other cruises with other cruiselines. If this is the best they can do, would not recommend them to anyone.Similar opinion? Good ship but a little dated.
Tasmania cruise on Radiance of the seas had a good time & as far as I know no one got sick staff were always at eating venues doing the washy washy hand wipe which we found good as people were not left to sterelise hands themselves, as it only takes one to infect whole ship. found the ship badly in need of a refurbish rust, handrails with no varnish all the things you don't expect unless you are on a container ship.
Meals were good in restaurants, one bad day in windjammer when food was cold found chap in charge & told him the legal temperature for hot food is 78deg Celsius he fixed it immediately overall good trip would go again.

Bad Day At Sea
I was on the Radiance of the Seas three days on it got sick (we were warned by the company there was sickness on board) bar prices are over the top, the gratuities they asked for were also over the top, some of the bars had no waiter and the food service is average.
So back to cruising on p&o (on ship 1 Mayember 2015 to 17 Mayember 2015).

Fine..Until I Got Sick
This was our first cruise. We were on the Radiance of the Seas 7 day Alaskan cruise from Vancouver on September 4th. Our stateroom with a balcony was small but very comfortable and functional. Our cabin attendant was friendly and efficient. Only issue was the couple in the cabin next door to us who didn't stop coughing all throughout the cruise day and night. Staff were at the entrance to the eateries we used encouraging everyone to wash their hands with the antiseptic gel available. Food was okay, probably rate it as good club food. We didn't ...Read more
eat in any of the optional restaurants as we figured it was all the same food from the same stock anyway and we didn't want to pay extra. Drinks were a ridiculous price with an added 18% gratuity, and that's after you have prepaid the 15% gratuity for everything when buying your tickets! Thankfully we are not big drinkers and eventually discovered we could order a bottle of wine at dinner, only drink half and the rest was kept for us the following night. We didn't use any of the facilities, such as pool, gym, casino so can't comment on them. We did see two shows after dinner and they were of the club variety. Shore excursions were so expensive. We booked them on board and have to say we did feel ripped off with all of them. There is a big push for you to buy, buy, buy. Buy their jewellery, buy their clothing, buy their art and, and, and. The ports we pulled into were nothing other than shopping ports, where again, we were encouraged to buy. We were told by some people that the ports are mostly owned by the cruise ship companies. The overall experience, service and cleanliness of the ship was quite good but on the last night of the cruise, I came down with a horrible chill. I was almost paranoid about washing my hands wherever I went from the time we went on board as we had heard of illnesses on other cruises but all the hand washing in the world didn't save me. The morning we left the ship I could barely stand. Made it to our hotel in Vancouver in the nick of time. This was the beginning of our dream Canadian holiday and the following morning I started to feel better, so put it down to a 24 hour bug. However I progressively became ill again and ended up in hospital, diagnosed with a lung infection. The last two weeks of our holiday were ruined and I may be doing them a disservice but I can't help but think our time on Royal Caribbean had something to do with it.Similar opinion? Anyone else sick on Radiance of Seas Alaska September 4 - 11, 2015
Anyone else get sick from this 'WOW experience'? Eleven out of our group of 14 got sick starting Sept 9th on the Radiance of Seas Alaska Cruise Sept 4 - 11, 2015. Also never received bar service in lounges or casino. Had to go to bar and order then pay 18% gratuity. Sure don't mind tipping for service but this was 'overboard'. The dining room staff were excellent and If we didn't go with friends, this cruise would have been a disaster! Will stick with Princess/Holland America - never sick on those cruises.
