Flawed Design
I purchased this a few weeks ago. The first time I used it, it squirted out a stream of water before eventully (and intermittently) misting. Second time I used it, it sent out a weak stream of water but no mist. Both times, the cap O-ring was clean and correclty seated and the cap screwed on tight. Given the number of negative reviews about this mister which all describe the same fault, clearly it is a design flaw and Ryobi should recall the product.

Very disappointing
Fogger my back. This unit pumps a jet of liquid. It does that well and to a good distance of 4-5 metres. There is some misting but its incidental to jetting a strong single stream of liquid. It does not fog or throw any mist without the jet flow. But its called a fogger and I want to lightly apply pesticide to my troubled plants just like my hand sprayer does in small droplets at close distance but to a greater height and area. Drenching them with the "fogger" is costly and consumes way too much chemical and above all, is inaccurate as the je...
Read moret can't accurately target fine stems and goes sailing off to poison something that doesn't need it. This thing drowns the little buggers and really condones wasteful and irresponsible environmental management. I also found the unit regularly cuts out. You have to loosen then retighten the cap or elevate the aim to restore pump pressure. I thought the tank was empty but it happens near full. I thought maybe the viscosity was too high but it behaved the same way with just water in it. Clearly I bought the wrong thing but its not clear from the product description - but I can't find any specification on the box or from the manufacturer which informs of droplet size, density or reach. I've since read reviews of their battery or electric paint sprayers. Taken off the market in Australia as they too weren't fit for purpose. This should be taken off the market as well and while your at it, I would appreciate my money back.Purchased in at Bunnings Warehouse for $149.

Excellent fogger sprayer for pests
We live in an area that can be plagued by mosquito's from time to time making outdoor eating etc. a bit difficult. We normally use pressure pak fogger sprays and burning coils, but we heard about this fogger and purchased one - we also used the liquid pyrethrum concentrate from our local Bunnings store (best product at reasonable price) - its easy to mix in the large mixing tank and very easy to spray around the yard - spray all the trees and fruit trees etc. I have seen reviewers say the spray is not like a fog and more like a jet spray, but I...
Read more found if you hold the unit slightly down at the rear when spraying that it actually works well - the range of spray is about 3-5 metres. Have used it a few times and sprayed the area around our outdoor eating area and it kept the mossies' at bay - I would suggest that you use a battery of at least 2.5 amp but I use a 5 amp battery which more than last a full tank of spray liquid. Pleasantly surprised how easy this machine is to use and it seems to work very well in keeping the mossies' down - recommend it! Pros: Well constructed Part of the Ryobi one series - uses same batteries Not too heavy to handle - has strap which helps distribute the load Can use variety of spray liquids (mist spray mask recommended for some) Relatively inexpensive for what it is Cons: Not a big deal but 2.5 amp minimum battery is recommended for full tankful of spray, battery life could be issue for small capacity batteries Some may think that it more spray than fog but still seems to work fine - deters the mossies'Purchased at Bunnings Warehouse.

Product review censored my use of word "A**" in first sentence! It means lower back. Use of word in last sentence really means it and today I got it.
