My hedger does my Lilypilly and Mariah hedges with no issues.

If the stems fit between the cutters it should do the job well.

ask ryobi.,sometimes cheaper to buy a new one!

You don't say why you want to replace them? but if you did you would have to dismantle the whole body to split it apart to get to the whole cutter bar, and unscrew the bolts that hold the bar together. I have done this on a corded Bosh cutter, the principle is the same,just takes a little time and patience. All the best,

Not sure, the 1851 is 18V, it may be the other being 1855 might have a power cord. I would check with Ryobi directly. The power models are normally cheaper but of course the whole idea is convenience and freedom of movement hence the battery models are so much better.

The 1851 is an older released model with mostly the same features as the newer 1855 version. Main difference is the 1851 has a 50cm blade and weights 2.7kg where as the 1855 has a 55cm blade and weights 2.8kg.

Mine came with a hedge sweep, used it once and found it to be a waste of time. Quicker to use a plastic rake and a blower to clean up.
In theory it is a good idea but in practice it doesn't do much. If you really want one go into bunnings and have a look at the box it comes in, well meaning sales people sometimes get it wrong.

I have a 4ah and 5ah battery. Both last for several 20min plus sessions. The 1.5 should do at least one session though.

I just purchased the "Skin" and a 2.5ah battery. This battery lasted 20m of hedges before it stopped. Maybe 30 to 40 mins of running. about 2 hours of work starting and stopping. Longer than I needed anyway. Sorry I can't comment on the 1.5ah battery.

I bought two 5 ah batteries in a packet for around $200. Worth the money. Hedge pruners seem to go all day from hedge to hedge as I have a lot of them. Try the 1.5ah battery, you might be surprised. The 5 ah batteries are the way to go because they go the distance and it is really good to always have a spare charged and ready to go especially if you buy more Ryobi products.

I have an electric hedge trimmer and it's useless so at the moment I trim 4 of them by hand which is really tiring. I'm hoping the Ryobi will make it a lot easier.

Can't see why not, the hedge pruners do an excellent job on a wide range of plants including fine leaf.
