Love it
I've had 2 electric chainsaws before this one and the Ryobi is fantastic. The common issue with the older ones was the chain tension mechanism. The chain was constantly slipping off the older ones and you'd have to disassemble the whole unit several times to get the chain back on. This problem looks to be resolved on the Ryobi with the side mount tension knob.
It's really powerful and feels like a solid build so at $50 less than the Makita saw I'd go this one.

satisfied
after a recent bad experience with a ryobi product(belt sander) I was a little apprehensive about buying this chainsaw following the failure of my ozito petrol saw. However, the Ryobi has proved to be a worthwhile purchase. Its simple to use, safe and sturdy, at least so far. I've only been using it for a week but it has ripped through almost a tonne of timber without missing a beat. The 406mm bar is adequate for domestic use. I would recommend this product to anyone wanting an inexpensive home use chainsaw thats simple fairly light and much less noisy than most petrol chainsaws

Not bad overall
Had mine for a few months, replacing an Ozito petrol saw which wouldn't start.
Much prefer the electric saw, I have enough cable to get to all corners of my yard with this saw. No starting problems with the electric saw!
It's pretty good, my only issue has been a broken adjuster wheel which rendered the saw useless. Bunnings replaced the saw (2 year warranty). It's only had moderate use so I was a bit disappointed. I don't expect it to last for too long after the warranty expires.

Very easy to operate
I have owned the electric chainsaw for 3 months, always run from a generator on the back of a ute. I have used it to tip treated pine fence posts before driving them into the ground and cutting green eucalypts that had fallen on farm fences. Total use time about 2 hours.
Good points:
Very easy to use, very smooth, far easier to use than a petrol chainsaw. No starting problems.
Easy to tighten the chain. I was a bit suspicious of the chain tightening method before I bought the chainsaw, but I was impressed by the ease.
