I acted on the ACTEON
I had a very old Targus backpack which served me for a long time. Really good quality, used it for 8 years or so, carrying 15" laptop(s) and all the panoply that comes with it. Now that it has holes everywhere and essentially worn through top and bottom, it was time to change it out. This time I wanted a change from the typical backpacks i've been wearing for 20 years i.e 2 straps and huge amount of space. I now had a 13" Macbook that is very slim and light so a monster sized pack wasn't needed anymore. So everytime I went throu...Read more
gh an airport I always dropped by the luggage shop in Domestic to see what was on sale and what kinds of packs were available that were small and had a singular shoulder strap instead of two. Doing this in person was essential to me as I was able to transfer everything from my existing rag-tag bag into the pack(s) I decided to test. Volume, amount of pockets, protective layers for devices, positioning and weight were all important plus the desired effect of being able to sling the pack over a shoulder in one fell swoop sword style. Here's why I chose this backpack over others. 1. The Acteon is a very comfortable bag to wear over long distances as tightening the strap allows it to sit high up the back rather than swinging around at your waste which will just wear you down and create spinal issues over time. 2. It fits gloriously under the plane seat with room either side for your feet. A BIG tick on that. 3. It fits everything I had in my previous bag that I would use on a typical day. Laptop, Over-ear Headphones in protective case, paper notebook, pens, dongles, cables, power supply, glasses box, deodorant, jumbo sized battery, presentation clicker, miscellaneous bits and pieces... All the essentials. There is still a little room left for any other stuff to go in when I need it. 4. When the bag is stuffed, it doesn't lose shape. The bottom doesn't balloon out with everything sagging as the make of the bag is excellent, great materials and joins. Every had to run with a full backpack? You have to do the crab run where your head stays level and only your legs pump. With this bag you can run free-style with little discomfort as it's up high and tight. 5. Disconnecting and re-connecting the shoulder strap becomes easy once you get the hang of it when taking it off. You don't just throw it off if you like it tight... Any hat, glasses, ears can all go with it. 6. Lots of pockets for categorising your stuff, especially when you travel. Documents, money, receipts get their own pocket and a very slim A4 sized pocket on the back is good for quick retrieval. All in all, really met and exceeded what I wanted. Tough, small, unobtrusive, stylish, ergonomic, packed with well defined spaces. Highly recommended.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
