Great when working
We bought this when renovating our current house May-16 under the recommendation of a salesman in Harvey Norman. I was previously looking at Schweigen, while Sirius offered similar performance with external motor at about 2/3 of the price, and also using German made motors.
Extraction power is 1300m3/hr, which is great for Chinese cooking. I find Speed 3 is actually enough if not pan frying with a lot of oil and/or chilies. It's a bit nosier than I thought. while being told later, we should have it installed a bit further from the kitchen (b...Read more
eing an old house, there was not much space between roof and ceiling). However, it's still considerable quieter (at least I can hear quite well when someone talking to me while cooking) than the Westinghouse we had for another, which only extracted about 1/3 of the volume. So I was happy with the performance. Before Easter and some 7 months (we only moved in late Sep-16) after we started to use it, the motor broke. Call after sales, the staff is friendly and sent a technician the next day. Was told the motor broke and needed replacement. The technician said he can't do the replacement work and my installer needed to do that. After sales has been great to have a new motor delivered in 3 days. However, the happy story sort of ended there. They was argued that Harvey Norman should pay for the installation as my wife thought we used someone referred by Harvey Norman to do the installation. They only agreed to pay for it after I told them I used an electrician listed as preferred installer from their website. However, they seemed to have some disagreement with the electrician regarding the costs and schedule. They wanted the electrician to removed the broken motor and had their technician to install the new one (as an engineer, it doesn't make sense to me at all). Then after we kept calling for update. They finally send the installer our way, which was 1 week after the motor delivery. Only then electrician found out wrong motor was sent. So now we waiting for the right motor to be delivered as well as someone coming in to fix it, and 3 weeks without a working rangehood.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Now thats a PROPER Rangehood
Specially for Asian Cooking!
If you do a lot of asian cooking. This is a MUST have rangehood. No more after cooking smell, deep frying? no problem, stir frying, no problem. What ever you are doing on your cook top this rangehood will suck it up!
Love the remote motor on the roof as well, have the SEM1 motor which is good enough. The noise is much less audible compare to a rangehood with motor fixed to it. Speed 4 is still bearable.
Cleaning is such an ease, no more left over stains and oil, simple and clean in the dishwasher.
Finishing is awesome. the build is sturdy and best of all, NO MORE burn out lights. The rangehood comes with 2 very bright LED strip and its bright enough to see all the detail of your cooking!
