I purchased a jar of gamma hydroxy skin resurfacing cream today in Gladstone Qld and when I opened it, it had a yellowish skin on the cream. Is this natural as I have never come across this before in any creams that I have bought?
1 answer
Hey June - yeah I had that with the Gamma Hydroxy Forte - it's simply the Vitamin A separating a little - I mixed mine in but according to Skin Doctors it's not necessary. BTW, if you have bought the Forte only start it after using the original formula for three months or so - or you may end up with similar reactions you can read here - it is pretty potent for a leave on exfoliator so your skin needs to adapt to before using the game with Forte.

I have been using Gamma Hydroxy for about 10 months 3/44 times a week. My skin looks a lot smoothrr but no improvement on wrinkles. I am over 60 and was thinking to start using the stronger formula,Gamma Hydroxy Forte. I also use serum every morning . Would i get better results?.

Hi Sara
First of all, I’m not a skin care professional. I’m just someone who uses the product
Hey Sara, I use the Forte am/pm and love the result on my crow's feet! - just don't use another retinoid type product at the same time, might be a bit strong.

How much does it help in reducing acne scarring??after applying gamma hydroxy redness is observed on my skin? Is it normal?please reply
1 answer
Hi. Alpha Hydroxy does stimulate the skin particularly when you first start using it. I had a slight "flushed" appearance for a couple of minutes after applying and a warm sensation in my face - a bit like mild sunburn. Redness and tingling certainly didn't last more than a few minutes and it wasn't uncomfortable. The cream is potent. If redness persists more than a few minutes I would stop using it.
I don't have any redness or warmth when using the cream now. After several months of applying it's like using a normal moisturizer. I use less of the cream too!
Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Purchased some but threw box away. Do I use on its own or put usual moisturiser afterwards?

I wouldn't use it!!
Depends on your skin type. If you're oily or combination then I doubt you would need a moisturiser over the top. My skin is pretty dry so I do use an additional moisturiser when my skin feels it needs it. I try to leave half an hour between applying the Gamma Hydroxy cream and the moisturiser though so as not to "dilute" it. I only use GH at night and a hefty sunscreen during the day.

I have started using gamma hydroxyl, I have been using primrose oil and facial moisturiser before purchasing gamma hydroxyl, do I continue this regime over the gamma?
When buying gamma hydroxyl forte, there is no where on outside package is it written you should have used gamma hydroxyl for 3 months before upgrading.

Hi Anne,I hope that Gamma H.is working for you.I don't see a problem in you using primrose oil and moisturiser together with G.H cream, I think it can only help as G.H alone can dry out the skin over time.I personally would apply G.H before bedtime, then wait 5-10 min.until completely absorbed, and then I'd apply moisturiser.I love natural products whenever possible, so I quite often use Cold Pressed Organic Coconut oil, skin feels amazing in the morning! When it comes to G.H Forte,I haven't used it, but I believe that you don't have to wait a specific period of time to upgrade to it, I think it's just a matter of G.H Forte being slightly stronger, but if your skin is agreeing with original G.H formula then I think you should be fine. And you can always use patch test just to make sure. Hope this answers your questions, good luck x
the Skin Doctors Website says to use this for three months before moving on to the Forte.
