Hello, I suffer with breakouts due to stress. Mostly I break out around the chin and jaw and then sometimes the cheeks. I do not have severe acne but I do suffer from constant breakouts and I never have clear skin. Also my breakouts fluctuate, sometimes bad sometimes very mild. I have been taking extra strength for 2 weeks now - 2 tablets, 3 times daily, feels like my skin is getting a little worse. Is this common? When will I be able to notice a change in my breakouts? Can you give me any other tips to improve the skin? Thanks

Hi Laurdie C,

Thank you for your message and questions. What you describe sounds like hormonal acne. Does the acne fluctuate depending on where you are in your menstrual cycle? With hormonal acne, we recommend one Extra Strength Tablet and 1 Caplet three times a day with a meal and water. The purging you are describing is due to the accelerated cell renewal. Everyone is different and experiences this timeline of purging differently. For example, many acne sufferers have a very slow cell renewal. We have 6-12 weeks on our supplement bottles, so you are still in the first stages of treatment at 3 weeks.

We would also recommend using our skincare. The mask can we used weekly, daily as a spot treatment and combined with foundation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKsHpXW_xS4

Hi there,

I've been taking the extra strength tablets 2x tablets 3x a day for one month and then I started taking 1 extra strength and 1 caplet together 3x a day for the last 2 weeks. I've been using this product for 6 weeks going onto 7 weeks now and have started getting sore and painful blind pimples on my jam and both cheeks which I never used get before. Is this going to be on going as I'm very uncomfortable and disheartened. Should I stop this product or will there be change and improvement in the next few weeks?

Hi PSE,

Thank you for your question and updating us on your progress. Sending any photos you have would be very helpful to see what it looks like [email protected]

What type of acne do you have? Do you have hormonal acne, is that why you switched to the 1 Tablet and 1 Caplet combo? Have you seen any improvement? 7 weeks you should be starting to see improvement, but you need to continue usage of the supplement, ensuring you comply with the dosage and taking with a meal. Vitamin B5 is water soluble and needs to be supplemented. The treatment cycle, as per our bottle is 8-12 weeks, so you are still in the middle of the treatment. We would recommend the full 12 week course of the Extra Strength Tablets and reassess. Once your active acne breakouts are under control, including blind pimples, then you would switch to a maintenance dosage.

There could be acne underneath your skin that needs to be cleared.
Everyone is different and the acne may have been there for a while without the cell renewal for your skin taking place in an efficient and timely way, which explains why it’s coming out in blind pimples. SkinB5 accelerates cell renewal.

Our Leader, Judy, has a video on the purging that explains the process https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ci2vhufSheI

Is there anything else that sparks a breakout, period, food, environmental factors?

If the breakout is quite red and severe at this stage, we would suggest to use the mask as a weekly treatment, spot treatment overnight and daily combined with foundation.

My 17 year old son has been taking the extra strength tablets now for one month, he also takes doxoclycline antibiotic as he has severe cystic acne. Just wanted to double check it is ok to be taking both these things together, the chemist where I purchased the tablets said it was fine.

Thank you for your question. If your pharmacist has recommended it okay, please proceed. It's vital that your son sticks with his dosage, 2 Tablets, three times a day with a meal. He needs to use our skincare range to maximise the effectiveness of the VitaminB5, responsible for controlling skin oil.

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for your message and providing information to assist you.

What you are experiencing is normal, especially if your acne is stubborn to get rid of. Why does your Acne get worse? SkinB5 Acne Expert Judy Cheung-Wood has recently done a video explaining this very thing https://youtu.be/ci2vhufSheI.

Consistent dosage compliance (2 Extra Strength Tablets, three times a day with food and water) is needed for the supplements to supplement vitamin, mineral, and nutrition. Continued use should see continued improvement.

How long have you had acne? Is it only facial acne or body too? Is there a family history of acne? What is your age?

We recommend taking SkinB5 for at least 8-10 weeks as on our supplement bottles to see results and you are still within that time frame. With people with more stubborn Acne, the process may take longer, for example, cystic Acne. A great example is our Luis, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFGW_0Xpv4w

What is your current skincare routine? To maximise the effectiveness of the VitaminB5, please use our skincare range, of Acne Control Cleansing Mousse, Acne Control Moisturiser and 5-minute Skin Purifying Mask.
Use the Mask to reduce congestion, a spot treatment for stubborn areas and feel free to use overnight if possible. The spot may get worse to start with as the Mask draws out impurities from underneath the skin.

Please feel to ask any more questions or contact us on [email protected] to discuss your personal situation. We would discuss diet, lifestyle, family history etc; other things that may be affecting your skin.

IN REPLY TO YOUR HELP

its been 5 days since ive stopped and noticed my acne is actually going away. when i was using the acne strength tablets, my acne would continuously appear everyday. i figured it was part of the process but it got to a point where my acne is now severe and the acne that was appearing were not going away. it wasnt just your average acne, it was causing pain and lumps all over my face literally. im starting to look like i have a disease. i am 23 years old, i play sports and go to the gym 4-5 times a week, had mild or little acne. i can see alot of reviews where people were successful and figured it would work but never in my life would i have tried it if i knew the outcome for me. ive spent alot of money buying your products only for it to make it worse. ive lost all confidence to go out doors, skipped outings and stopped going gym since going on your treatment. im completely frustrated that it has caused so much grief.
i have started using benzac which consist of benzyl peroxide and it is started to clear without several pimples all over my face and it has dramatically calmed which the lumps are also smoothing out
i should have never started this treatment

Yeah hazel they’re easy to snap in half because they have like a indent on them if you need to snap them. Also I’ve crushed them up in smoothies etc you’ll have no problem taking them. Hope this helps.

What supplement are you choosing? If you have very oily skin, we would recommend the Extra Strength Tablets. If you have hormonal acne, we recommend one of each, 1 Tablet and 1 Caplet, three times a day with food and water. If you skin is dry or combination, 1 Caplet, three times a day with food and water.

It is important to stick to the dosage and take the supplements with food and water. We also suggest combining the supplements with our skincare, to maximise the effectiveness of the Vitamin B5, which is in all our products. Vitamin B5 controls skin oil. 5 Key Actions of SkinB5 to control acne: sebum control, hormone balance, strengthening immunity, stress relief and cell renewal. With continued use, acne scars will fade also.

Hello Betsie,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Since you have seen results with taking 1 Extra Strength Tablet + 1 Caplet, 3 times a day, that means it worked for you for the last 5 months.

If all of the sudden you are breaking out again and you have not changed your diet, it is possible that something else has changed eg. your stress level, weather (hotter and more humid weather could trigger breakouts).

My suggestion is that you can try switch over to 2 Extra Strength Tablets, 3 times a day for at least 2 week and see if that helps. Some customers find that by switching between the Extra Strength Tablets and the Caplets based on the need of their body seems to work well.

Let us know how you go and if you want to ask more in-depth questions, please do feel free to PM via email [email protected].

Have a wonderful day,

Hi! I have had one container of the skin b5 acne control extra strength tablets and I was wondering if I am allowed to have the extra strength tablets a second time in a row or if I should be moving onto the controlling tablets?
Thanks

SkinB5
Team at skinB5SkinB5

Hello Jess,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

You can take SkinB5 Acne Control Extra Strength Tablets at the full treatment dose until your acne is cleared. You should not need to take SkinB5 at the recommended full treatment dose for more than 6 months.

SkinB5 is a nutritional formula suitable for long term use. It is also very important to take a small dose of SkinB5 as part of your daily supplement routine to prevent acne breakouts returning.

Once your skin is clear you can gradually reduce dosage to 3-4 tablets a day for 2 months, then 2-3 Extra Strength Tablets per day, then transition over to use the Acne Control Caplets 1-2 caplets a day as part of your daily health and beauty routine to prevent breakouts.

People who are acne prone need supplementation of essential clear skin nutrients to maintain clear skin. Once your skin is cleared, we highly recommend that you keep taking a maintenance dose to maintain good levels of the key clear skin nutrients in your body in order to prevent future breakouts. If you do not take any maintenance dose of the SkinB5 vitamins, overtime your body would be depleted of clear skin nutrients again and acne may resurface.

We hope this answers your question.

Hello Sandz,

Happy New Year!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

For some acne sufferers, at the beginning an acne regimen, their acne gets worse before it gets better. This is not always the case, but can be frustrating for those patients who do experience the initial acne flare.

When we begin treating acne, there are already acne lesions developing in the skin. Although SkinB5's supplements stop the development of new acne, the treatments cannot always halt the emergence of pre-existing acne on the skin.

These pre-existing pimples may appear in the first 2 weeks - SkinB5 products could also speed up skin cell turnover bringing pre-existing acne to the surface (purging). These usually subside as you continue to take the SkinB5 tablets. So please be patient, your skin should start to clear up after 1-2 months of taking SkinB5 at the recommended treatment dosage.

Hi Guys!

I have teenage and hormonal acne, my mother tells me its because I have a higher level of testosterone and I get very oily skin as well. My acne is not cystic but its a bit worse then average, with acne along my chin (not the jawline), on the nose, both cheeks sparred out in different areas (though most of them are actually just marks and scars) and a medium amount of acne on my forehead. I've been taking two of the Extra Strength tablets a day twice a day (4 in total a day) and I'm wondering how long the 'purging process' would take? It says 6-12 weeks for skin to clear up ( I understand not completely, just assistance) and I'm confused as to whether my skin should get worse for the whole 12 week process or maybe just 3-6 weeks?

Thank you :)

Hi Denise,

Thank you for your questions and providing information to assist you. How long have you been taking the Extra Strength Tablets?

The recommended dosage of our Extra Strength Tablets is TWO Tablets, THREE times a day with food and water consistently.
It's important to combine the supplements with our skincare range that also contains VitaminB5 and other vitamins and nutrients to assist with skin health. Vitamin B5 is responsible for: sebum control, hormone balance, strengthening immunity, stress relief, and with our skincare, cell renewal.
Every person is different and your experience may vary than others. The purging process is typically, in general terms, a month. Diet and lifestyle factors also need to be addressed and we encourage you read the blog.skinb5.com to address other lifestyle issues that may be impacting your clear skin.

1 answer
SkinB5
Team at skinB5SkinB5

Hi Nancy,

Thank you for your questions.

SkinB5 Natural Acne System has the Cleansing Mousse and Moisturiser, both which also contain Vitamin B5 (which controls sebum production), maximising its efficacy from both inside and out. We recommend taking SkinB5 for at least 6-12 weeks as on our directions of supplement bottles to see results. With people with more stubborn Acne, the process may take longer, for example, cystic Acne. One week will not be enough time for the supplements to supplement vitamins, minerals, and nutrition. Some customers report a purging process once commencing SkinB5 supplements as their body goes through this process.

Regarding the cramps, we recommend seeking medical advice. Our formulation would not cause these symptoms. We also direct to consume our supplements with both food and water and to take consistently, three times a day.

Please feel free to contact us directly at [email protected] to assist you with your personal situation.

Hi Bernard,

Thank you for your question. Would you please clarify, "hormonal acne once every few weeks"? As your name isn't a ladies name, we assume it's not associated with menstrual cycle?

We suggest starting with the Extra Strength Tablets, two, three times a day taken with food and water. Combine with our skincare range to receive the benefits of Vitamin B5 inside and out. All our products contain VitaminB5, responsible for controlling skin oil. Once the oil is under control, you would take one Tablet and one Caplet, three times a day with food and water. Caplets contain Vitex, a herb that regulates hormones naturally.

Hi Shelby,

Thank you for your question. Yes, the Extra Strength Tablets will bring your Acne under control, but from what you describe, it sounds like you have Hormonal Acne. Once you get your Acne under control, we would suggest combining 1 Tablet and 1 Caplet. Our Caplets contain Vitex, a herb that regulates hormones naturally.

In regards to skincare, we cannot comment on the interaction of other products with our range. We suggest ceasing the exfoliation of the scrub which causes lesions and irritations to already sensitive skin. Please read our recent blog here http://blog.skinb5.com/choosing-acne-treatments/diy-skin-care-solutions-avoid-like-plague-part-one/

Hi Jana,

Thank you for your question.

People who are acne prone need supplementation of essential clear skin nutrients to maintain clear skin. Once your skin is cleared, we highly recommend that you keep taking a maintenance dose to maintain good levels of the key clear skin nutrients in your body in order to prevent future breakouts. If you do not take any maintenance dose of the SkinB5 vitamins, over time your body would be depleted of clear skin nutrients again and acne may resurface.

Hello Betsie,

Thank you for your question.

We suggest that you take both the Extra Strength Tablets and Caplets, at a dosage of 1 Extra Strength Tablet + 1 Caplet, 3 times a day. Once your skin is clear, you can start gradually reducing dosage over 2 months, eventually just take 1-2 Caplets a day to maintain clear skin (as part of your daily health and beauty routine).

The reason being, our Caplets formulations contains the Vitex herb to provide extra support to help balance your hormones.

Although many people will see results sooner, it is important to allow a minimum of 3 cycles (3 months) for the formulations to deliver visible results.
