Bought this cooktop for the size and sunken feature. Finish quality is great, only the stainless steel shows marks easily, so be careful with abrasive materials - never use those green scotch sponges to clean! Water marks are bad too but have seen spray products for this. The sunken setup is fantastic and having the full width cast iron supports is genius! Pots and pans can be quickly and easily juggled around (e.g. to take off heat) without catching and potentially spilling. The supports are sturdy and level. tant visual on setting and if you are terribly forgetful like me you probably won't accidently leave burning (on simmer) again, as a turned knob stands out. The control of the flame is not so good, very fiddly.. kinda high or low, hard to get in between (connected to LPG). Comes with handy wok/large-pan support. Ignition not a problem, just have to hold down for 4-5 clicks and good to go. All five burners work at the same time on maximum burn! Looks great, works well! Sunken installation, full flush cast iron supports, styling Flame control, surface easily marked/scratched

I'm looking at the Smeg cooktops because of their low profile design. Will they be able to fit on top of a built in oven?

Hi Christine,
Yes, you can fit this cooktop on top of the oven as long as you have a clearance of 80mm from the top of the oven to the top of the bench top.

Hi, this cooktop is not on display anywhere. I’d like to see how the pots fit around when the center one has a large wok or pan. Is there still space for the other pots/pans around? If anyone can please take a pic of theirs with pots on it to give me an idea, that’d be great.

Hi, other pots fit around our large (33cm) pan - but are just touching when each pot/pan is placed over the centre of each hob (which is not essential, can shift across a little). Not sure how it would go with wok. Don't know how to upload photo sorry.
