Nope!
Just moved into our new home and one of the clinchers for my wife was Smeg appliances from a renovation that we were advised only happened two years ago.
We’ve been in the house for just over two months and the whole place filled with a foul grey smoke - to the point my wife and kid had to go sit out on the street for 40 minutes at half 8.
Between the emergency electrician and the only electrician he knew that could open this thing up - I’ve so far have had to fork out nearly $240 bucks - just to find out the controller had literally melted ...Read more
into a puddle of plastic - let alone the actual cost of repair coming in at over $750 bucks. Called Smeg and since I wasn’t the original purchaser and didn’t have the original invoice they didn’t want to know me - Serial Number or not. Well - I sure as heck plan on not replacing this with a another Smeg - but I’m sure the cutout hole will probably stick me with one - don’t fall down this same hole!

Poor Product
I have owned this stove for about 5 years and for the last 12 months have had to endure 1 failed conductor. I have been quoted ridiculous prices just to inspect the unit without any assurance of fixing it. I believe SMEG is overrated regarding its high end status and the performance/reliability does not justify the high price.

Faulty Product
I am extremely disappointed that only after 4 years two of the Conductors have failed and Smeg have quoted $800.00 each to buy plus technicians labor to repair that could go as high as $2000.00 which is close to what I originally paid for the unit.
I would have expected to get longer that 4 years service out of such an expensive SMEG product.

I have a SMEG SIHP264S cooktop. Over 15 months there have been 5 occasions when it will not start using the touch controls. In the past after about one to two weeks of not working the touch control will work and usually works well for a few months. At present it has not been working for 4 days. I have tried turning the power off for 10 minutes but this did not help. Do you have any suggestions
