Nails it!
The Stanley Fatmax 18v nailer is a battery powered finishing nailer, that uses 16 gauge nails. It works extremely well, and after firing about 500 nails I have not had one jam or misfire. The nailer has a lock which is a pretty good safety function, it also has a depth adjuster so you can alter the depth the nails shoot into the timber. It is very easy to load and takes nails from 25mm up to 55mm in length, and holds 100 nails. It has 2 work lights which come on when the nose tip is depressed. any marks on your timber. It has a tool less nail ejector should one jam, and this seems easy to do, but I have had no need to. So why buy a cordless nailer? Firstly, the 2 traditional options have been air supply via a compressor or gas powered via a cartridge in the gun. The former requires the purchase of a compressor along with hoses etc, and it is not very mobile. The gas powered units are cordless, but the gas cartridges are quite expensive, and need to be constantly replaced. The Stanley Fat max is an 18v battery and powers multiple tools within the range. It is rechargeable so is a) very portable, and b) no on going expense is required. The nailer works really well, it fires quickly and accurately, and simply does it's job. The only 2 negatives are: 1) at around 3kg with the battery it is a little on the heavy side, certainly compared to an air powered nailer 2) there is a very slight lag between when you pull the trigger and when the nail fires, but it is only very slight and certainly not a deal breaker. I really like this nailer and would buy another.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
