Disappointed
I spent $159 on this ironing board because I wanted an excellent quality, sturdy board. I certainly can’t complain regarding the quality; however, there is simply not enough padding. I don’t want criss-cross marks on my clothes. Contacted the service team and was told I was missing padding on 2.11 and despite repeated calls and assurances that padding has been sent, I’m yet to receive anything. Today, I was told it had been posted to me on the 30.11 (almost 4 weeks after my original call). I’ve asked for a return call today to clarify what’s going on but with 25 mins until close of business, no phone call received. Having spent this amount, I expect better!!

Simply not worth the money: returned!
When replacing an old ironing board, I figured I'd spend a bit more to get a board that was taller, wider and more practical. This model is well-built in that sense (it's sturdy) but:
1) my steam generator did not fit on the tray (tray too small)
2) even if it did, the design of the steam generator tray is not great (so ended up just putting the steam generator on the floor!)
3) my iron did not fit in the hole in the pull-out tray (my iron was too wide at the base)
4) worst of all... the padding on this board is virtually non-existan...Read more
t. Second shirt I ironed had criss-cross marks from the metal surface under the (too thin) ironing board cover. (And no - the iron was not too hot). I might have accepted this from a $29 board, but NOT one with a $160 RRP! Thankfully I was able to return it for a refund. Its been a while since I was this disappointed with a product and I would not recommend it.

Hi Garry. Sorry to hear of the issues you experienced. What model is your steam station? All Sunbeam irons should easily fit with this ironing board.
It was not a Sunbeam... It was Tefal. Still... The biggest concern in my review was the lack of padding. Had that been okay I could have lived with the other issues. But this expensive ironing board l... Read more

Don't waste your time or money
This iron has already been returned within 2 weeks. Wish I had read reviews on this site before buying (also see SB8000 reviews for feedback on this iron).
As discussed here previously there is a centre channel where the board bows. This can be bounced in and out of place by pushing up from below with a finger. Conversely the support bars underneath create peaks. This causes the iron to then catch on clothes and they need reironing.
The ironing board would need extra padding as the feel is firm especially along the ridge lines where the ...Read more
supports are causing the iron not to glide well. The weight of the iron would make it hard for my wife to move the iron and setup. Ironically we thought the weight would negate the above problems. The weight is significantly greater than the competitors. The extra width, length, retractable iron holder were excellent and why we were interested. The nose is a little wide for kids / smaller ladies clothing.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Terrible
the metal surface is inferior...too thin and not strong enough...i also have a 30 year old frazer ironing board which is perfect (except too small) and the metal surface is very strong and not able to be bent...i am still waiting on an explanation from sunbeam...
the size is excellent....the iron rest is excellent and safe and can't fall off if i move the board....
BUT...the metal surface is INFERIOR....this surface buckled as soon as i started using it....and i can use one finger to press it up and down...no good as the iron bumps "over a litt...Read more

what are the differences between the Chic and the Couture Ironing Board? I own a extra large Hills I have had for 20 years so I need the best quality

My understanding is it is size predominantly. Do not suggest either of these boards. They are not flat
Damien what do you suggest then? Instead of the Sun beam ironing boards

Yes, these are designed to hold the iron during use when it is hot
