Just burnt out the third one. Rubbish. Can't be bothered to return it even though I know Harvey Norman will give me a new one without any hassles. Fine for light work but no good for cookies. Buying a different brand as I can't trust this not to break down when I need it.
The balloon beaters are nice
Burnt out three

Great Value
For a long time we considered buying an expensive stand mixer vs a cheaper hand mixer. In the end we bought the handheld Sunbeam JM6600 for $39 (big discount) and an expensive food processor. We have had the JM6600 for about 6 months and use it regularly for cake mixtures, whipping cream, etc and are more than happy with it considering the price.
Cheap, handy, easy to use

Sunbeam JM6600 Mixer
I have had this mixer for just on 2 years now. I only use it to cream butter & sugar and mix cake batter. I loved it up and until I was mixing my sons Birthday cake and suddenly only the first two speeds worked. Now you can only use the lower speeds as it stops once you put it up to the higher speeds. I am very disappointed as I expected that it would have lasted longer than this as I given a "Tiffany" brand mixer 15 years ago (only cost them about $10) and it is still working!!! I have always purchased Sunbeam products, but for the last 3 years have had nothing but problems with them and won't be wasting my money on them any more.
Inexpensive, good while it worked.
Stopped working on high speeds, unreliable, didn't last long enough

Was great, until 2 months out of replacement guarantee
I loved the features, I like how it worked right up until I was using it and it wasn't strong enough to mix my cake mix, the beaters couldn't cope with mixing flour eggs and milk and fell out into the mix. Then I noticed they had broken the little plastic metal support around the v groove beaters. I used to own a Black and Decker and they lasted 20 years. These beaters were expensive and couldn't last 14 months for home use. Not Happy, will not purchase Sunbeam beaters again.
Not strong enough to beat cake mix, Broke two months outside warranted. Sunbeam didn't want to know about it.

Burns out. Don't recommend.
Every time that I have used this mixer it will stop working after about five-ten minutes of use. It's almost like it overheats and then refuses turn on again for another couple of hours. The power in it also seems to be very poor. While creaming butter I have turn it to high but still the beaters slow down if they are touching anything at all. Works great if I were just beating air.

Hi Lilmissbaker, Hand mixer is used to cream butter and mix cakes at high speed but less time. If used for 5 minutes it will cut-out as it has overheated. Optimal time for use would be a few minutes.... Read more
If beaters stop it means that your actual mixture is very thick. For further information please contact our Consumer Support team on 1300 881 861.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Burning motor smell when in use
I have only had this new sunbeam Mixmaster JM 6600 for 1 month. Purchased it as it seemed to have a strong motor and solid build. I have only used it a few times with no dramas until today when it just started letting off a bad burning motor smell. Not a happy customer!
Inexpensive
Smells like burning motor when in use

Magic Mixer !
Congratulations Sunbeam - this is a winner!!
This has superb mixing capabilities, the Boost button is great, nice range of attachments and the mixer sits nicely on the end when not in use ( inbetween mixing when adding more ingredients).
The graduated speed selection is spot on and allows for perfect mixing across a range of jobs.
Powerful and versitile. Funky and looks good. Brilliant.
Only thing I would improve is the length of the power cord, needs to be longer.

A little gem
Have been using this little gem for about 3 years. What a great little handy mixer, speeds through whipping tasks with the 2 whisks, and doesn't seem to loss power even when mixing thicker mixtures. Even does a good pizza dough. Great for the small-ish tasks. Looks very nice and is comfortable to use and hold, and very lightweight. Good product Sunbeam.
inexpensive and just great :)

Questions & Answers
Colette M.asked
My mixer is less than 12 months old. It is solid, has good speed control but stops suddenly. I thought it was broken. Was going to take back. When I turned it on - it worked again. This happens every time I use it. Appears to get over heated doing relatively simple tasks just as creaming butter and sugar. Is it faulty or do you have a tip to stop it over heating??

Mine did the same until it just stopped working entirely.

I can’t seem to fit the beater to the stand it does not fit snuggly. Also beater will not spin as a hand held. I think I got a lemon. Bought it a couple of years ago and tried to use once but couldn’t so put in cupboard and bought a big kenwood. Would like to be able to use it for smaller mixing but can’t get it to go. It has never been used and is totally useless. Can you please tell me if I am doing something wrong or have I bought a dud.

Hi Lyn,
I have one of these at home but this model is a hand mixer only. Maybe you have a different model? With some models the beaters go in one side only and have to match up. I would like you to give us a call on 1300 881 861 to see if we can assist you.
