Very smelly... weeks later!!
We recently bought this to paint a ceiling with beams. After a couple of weeks it has started to omit a terrible smell! We have had the fire going around it so the room is nice and warm, maybe that’s part of the issue. But we’ve checked the undercoat and the Taubmans tin and the dates seem to be ok, it old.
Could it be contaminated maybe. It smells almost like animal dirt.
It’s getting worse each day so any advice out there to stop this smell would be great.

As above
Been painting for many years and decided to use taubmans easy coat for first time. New house, sealer primer and light sand on prep coat. So disappointed with results, tint doesn’t hold, patchy colour, thin to the point of see through. Not cheap to buy but very cheap results. There are much better products out there for similar money.

Basically just water
Coverage is awful, so bad. Even with a large thick wall brush it would take probably five coats to cover a black spot, when others would do it in 2. It comes out watery and goes gluggy very quick. I'm so disappointed with this paint and so frustrated I've wasted so much time.

Worst paint I have used
Wanted it for the Microban, but now going to take it back because it is grey compared to the white of the original ceiling, it has dried patchy and blotchy, it has a sheen and is not flat like it's supposed to be, and it is watery with poor coverage. Extremely disappointed.
And when used in a Wagner Spray Gun, it produces horrible results, big blobs of paint on the surface no matter how much it's diluted and how much or how little pressure I use. Almost unsprayable. (Note: I have sprayed hundreds of litres of other house paint through my Wagner, so I know what I'm talking about). Keep the receipt because you may well need to return it!

I'm having the same really frustrating experience.
I thought Dulux interior full gloss was the worst paint I'd ever encountered so gave Taubmans a try (owned by Dulux), this time on inside garage walls. With thorough prep and priming, two coats of white wall paint over white are very blotchy. It's horrible to look at and to feel I've wasted so much time and money.
When stiring these paints, it's obvious that they are not as thick as paint used to be. It's not surprising that it gives poor coverage. If everyone has to do three coats instead of two, the company increases its profit margin by 33...Read more

Agree with other reviews.
I would have to agree with the reviews far.
After having recently experienced issues with Dulux super enamel high gloss oil-based paint, i gave up with dulux and headed to bunnings where the staff member recommended taubmans easy coat semi gloss.
This product was even worse than the lot and weighs in at rank number one for the worst paint ever.
It was blotchy (granted it was tinted at bunnings), had poor coverage, didn't apply/bond well with the undercoat and dried to an uneven consistency - it was dull in some areas and semi glossy in others, however, three coats wasn't enough to create a satisfactory finish. Semi-glossy was more like a weird dull chalk with a broken shine.
Cheers!

What a waste of time and effort and my money I will never use taubmans again rubbish
This is rubbish do not use this paint, I have done all the prep and I have put two coats on it looks terrible. I will be going back to Dulux tomorrow.
I painted my whole house 8 years ago with Dulux and still looks good but this taubmans paint is absolutely crap. I have wasted my time and my hard earned money, the only reason I am re painting is the colour scheme, don't buy this paint is my advice.

5 coats and still not happy!
I have done quite a lot of painting and i do all the prep work because i want a good finish.
Sanded the walls, filled holes, washed walls, two coats of undercoat..Thought I was going nuts as I had an expensive roller, size as stated on paint can.
I could still see roller marks after 4 coats.
Called Taubmans technical dept and after listening to everything they suggested and confirming I had done all steps correctly, the final suggestion was to thin the paint with some water.
The guy I spoke to sounded like he had to defend this paint many times..
The 5th coat is a bit better but still unsatisfactory..
Im very unhappy with the result after hours of handwork and would never use Taubmans easycoat again

Terrible paint!
From the moment I tipped the paint into the roller tin I was suspicious. Couldn't cut-in to the corners, when on the roller it was like I was rolling out PVA glue onto the walls. Paint went on well for the first roll, then when going over again within 30 seconds it started lifting off the walls. Had to put it on so thick at first I used half a tin of 4 litres to do one wall. Now I have to sand back the wall due to the paint lifting off in some areas. Went and bought some Wattyl and enjoyed the painting so much I think I will do some more. Interestingly enough, when I bought the Wattyl paint, the helpful assistant guessed which paint I was using when I told him of my problems. Says he doesn't stock it any more as it is rubbish.

Terrible
Our brand new home from day 1 I have hated the paint job. At final inspection we asked for multiple areas to be fixed and repainted. The flaws have always frustrsted me. Over the last few years its only gotten worse as chipping and peeling has occured. Marks on the walls are impossible to clean off, if the mark does come off you can see where the wall has been wiped due to the powderie finish. Its not until now that we've gone to paint a feature wall in our first babys rooms that we've noticed the massive difference in paint and ended up having to paint all the walls to fix the incredible chipping when we used painters tape to help with the edges. Now we can feel and see the difference in paint we know we need to do the whole house.

Liquid glass
Never experienced a paint before with such limited covering abilities. I'd reckon it will take 4 or 5 coats to end up with a passable result. Rubbish product - only bought it as I needed a small qty for a feature wall...so bought a 2 litre tin. The much cheaper Tradex is way better.

Terrible coat
I've been painting for over 20 years and this is the worst product I have ever used. It is not at all easy to coat, and the coverage is terrible. After 4 rooms in a house I just painted I gave up and went and got some Haymes new life for the same price. One coat of the Haymes looked better then two coats of this so called easy coat. This was the first and last time I will use this product.

As Donald Trump would say: Terrible! this paint is horrible. SAD!
After a careful priming process this paint barely left any coverage, it was immediately clear that numerous coats were required. The first coat in applied in a single corner was barely obvious. Bit of a shame as some of their other products are good but this should be taken off the shelves

Money down the drain
So far I have applied 4 coats of this paint to a feature wall, but it is still very patchy and I can see the old colour coming through.
I've used twice the amount of paint that was recommended and still do not have adequate coverage. Hopefully I will be able to find a similar colour in Dulux paint and fix up the job with an coat of that.

This is water with a bit of clour
This paint is terrible. It runs straight off the brush, all over the place and applies like the kids cordial. I tried to cut in around the edges and realised it was a shocker, went to the internet, saw these reviews saying it took 5 coats and went to get Dulux instead. I would have asked for my money back but I was in such a rotten mood after the disastrous job I though it best to spare the poor staff at Bunnings.

Marks Easily
I'm not sure why there are such super bad reviews.
I painted over a pale yellow with two coats of pale white with an appropriate roller. I've done the same with Dulux and it was significantly patchier. I do make sure my first coat is immaculate though, I don't wheel a roller willy nilly in any direction hoping for miracles.
I didn't find it watery or splatter particularly.
It marks really easily and it's not easy to clean so I won't be using it again for that reason. It feels like the finest sandpaper so I expect thats why it marks easily w...Read more

Avoid this terrible product
Save yourself an afternoon and don't buy this budget garbage.
Terrible coverage. TERRIBLE.
It's as opaque as glass and my 2l bucket got me an estimated 20m'.
I'm livid and going to try to get my money back.
Bit once and never again Taubmans.
I'd probably get better coverage and better concealment with 2 litres of milk.

The worst paint I have ever used
I was told that because I was using a very dark colour I should use a tinted undercoat first. I did this and it still took five coats. Cutting in was the worst where it appeared that my brush was just swishing the paint from side to side.
Taubmans need to make people aware of this. I have use a 10 litre tin of paint on a 4 x 4 metre room. I only bought this paint because it was the only brand that had the colour base needed for the colour I was using. Ill be sticking with my favourite brand "Resene" Its twice the price but worth it.

A wonderful paint
I painted my kitchen ceiling and walls with this paint and I loved it. Easy to apply, no odour, looks good on, and it covered and dried extremely smoothly. Two coats and the final effect is great, and I am no professional painter. Would recommend this product to anyone! I am having trouble understanding why there are complaints about this paint, in fact.
