I am surprised how good this tv is.
Bought this based of people telling me how good the picture was for the price. I was suprised it was better than my last LG 4k tv. Nice visuals and colors out of the box. Comes with a fast android tv,bottom onkoyo sound bar, second remote and 3 hdmi ports. Why pay more when this does a great job
Purchased in February 2021.

Budget Priced with Top End Features!
It was time to replace our old 75" TV and after a lot of research online and at the major retailers, we settled on the TCL 75C8 model which is a 75" 4K QUHD Smart LED TV.
This particular model is a 2022 release which included a 3-year warranty, which was an important consideration for us. Its major competitors would have been the usual high-end manufacturers like Samsung and Sony as they were priced similar to the QUHD model and in fact, the prices virtually tracked each other around the time of our purchase. The QUHD model has a budget varian...Read more
t, the P8M model, but it didn't have all the features we wanted, as will be outlined below. The deal was struck, and we got delivery included from the retailer. It arrived on the agreed day and the box in which it came was massive but well constructed. It took two men to bring it into the home and once they left, we started unwrapping our future entertainment product. It was evident from the packaging, the TV came from a long distance away, namely China. It had solid chunks of styrofoam cubes inside the dense cardboard shipping box which protected each corner and sides of the TV, keeping the fragile LED/LCD panel from contact with the very durable cardboard box. All the accessories including the feet were safely tucked away in plastic bags in one of the foam cubes. The accessories, aside from the feet, included the hardware to attach the feet, two remote controls (one for speech to control Google Assistant and one standard remote) as well as a quick start guide and a mini user manual with warranty information. The quick start guide showed the best way to instal the feet which we followed, but it wasn't that easy to get the second leg to fit into place and needed a fairly firm nudge to get it to seat well and the two retaining screws could then be attached, keeping the TV very stable on its feet.Purchased in July 2021 at JB Hifi Home for $2,500.00.

Does the TV support Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos passthrough? I see mixed reports and the TCL website doesn’t go into specifics.

The picture and sound are still exquisite and the remote also works very well. Overall, the TV seems to be doing the right thing when you ask it to do it. After that, it starts to get interesting because if you don't ask it to do anything in particular eg change channel, volume, internet etc, we have experienced many episodes of the TV doing its own thing. That's right! It has been known to turn on spontaneously on quite a few occasions, in the middle of the early morning (say around 3.30 am but it varies), blaring away, despite every other appliance working normally. It also locks up on occasion when you are trying to do something on the internet eg Youtube, and nothing on the remote will bring it out of its funk other than to turn off the main switch and then turn it back on again. Everything resumes normally, until....the next occasion. We did get the house exorcised so it can't be evil spirits, it has to be something else....maybe TCL
Appreciate your quick response. I've heard about them going on and off before. Maybe the previous model. I'm thinking it's more Android than TCL. But we'll never know. I was thinking of buying one as we're having trouble with the new Hisense. Thanks again

Sorry, but as expressed in an earlier post, I have no experience in using the C8 for gaming purposes and hence can't give a comparative experience to the P6
