Are video files recorded on the Teac HDB860 encrypted?
If not, can they be played on older model Teac PVRs such as the HDB849?
They are not encrypted, they are M2TS files, same type as the files recorded in the old boxes. However they cannot be played in the old boxes and vice versa. I can play the old and new files in my PC ...

You don't say where you recorded it. If it was recorded in an old TEAC is PVR recording and the new TEAC does not support it. Some BlueRay and DVD player do some don't. The new TEAC records MTS fil...
Read morees. My PC plays them OK, (they are located in the HPVR folder not in the PVR folder )but my Blueray player does not.I've had the hdb8gy0 for while now and using a kingstone 64 GB usb. It was fine until the other day but now the box won't record.I've tried reformatting but it says there's a format error. Any ideas?
I have had the same problem with 64GB USBs. 32 GB drives work fine. I have never tried a hard drive because I don't know if it can be powered from the box USB port or needs an external PSU.

You can record one channel and watch another on the same network.
IE: record SBS & watch Viceland etc
...
Why is the HDB860 not able to tune in to any of the ABC channels?? It's like ABC doesn't exist. Now I can't even receive ABC channels on my TV either.
