Telstra stores will not call you back
When you ring a Telstra store, message says a staff member will answer in a moment. They don’t answer and it goes straight to voicemail with a promised call back. They never call back also. Are they under instruction to never talk to customers on phone?

This Telstra shop won't help you!!
Went recently as I just got out of hospital, why I couldn't put on the recharge I purchased as the signal there was bad(checked with a staff member who said this was the case too). Telstra staffer was treating me as if I was an idiot despite I explained why the voucher was a fortnight old I'd been in hospital all that time. I hadn't used it!! Wasn't able to top it up as where I've been recently I don't pick up signals. They tried to sell me more recharge which was wrong as the other Telstra shop helped me put on my last recharge although it was ...
Read more$5 Coles as they don't have that amount anywhere else now so they put it on for me but explained why this maybe an issue & in this case so similar but should be easy fixed too!! Have to let everyone know how bad it is as I didn't need that after what I just went through & in hospital not being able to use my data or anything not good either!! Being treated like this is wrong especially after having just been discharged from hospital.- Product Quality

It is difficult to have service this bad.
Ordered an iPhone. Hasn't come in 2 months. They say stock is on backorder. They wont let me cancel or change the order so I'm stuck without a phone. They say there is nothing they can do. I will never enter into a contract with telstra again.

Why are their forms in American instead of English
Telstra wont let me advise them of my mother's death. I have to fill out a dozen page form. I was trying to do so and their system INSISTS on American dates. I thought that they were proud to be an Australian company. Looks like I have to take my personal and business accounts to a foreign company that can at least speak Australian English.

Telstra Store in Macquarie Centre, Sydney
The Telstra stores are closing everywhere. St. Ives closed recently. The Pitt St store closed recently.
We used to use both for all our needs.
Now, the only store we can use near us is Macquarie Centre and it's terrible. They can never serve you when you go to visit. You have to make an appointment.
What use is that when you are visiting the shopping mall for a range of things and a limited time. We don't have time to "come back for your appointment in 2 hours"
It's just not working Telstra.

Terrible customer service continues
Had Telstra mobile internet until April 2021. $25 a month, no real issues except for slower than advertised speeds. Went in-store to cancel in person. 14 months later and it appears I am still being charged $25/month. Rang - 20 mins wait time, spoke to "consultant" in another country who could find no record of my account. Waited another 20 mins for her to consult the billing people. No record of my account (despite each debit from my account having a customer reference number attached). Told to visit a Telstra store. Went into Cairns today - t...
Read moreold there's a 30-40 min wait. No worries, got a coffee. 45 mins later went back to check. Told by same greeter there's STILL a 30 min wait time, possibly 1 hour. Walked out - they ring after 1hr and 40mins to see if I am still around. Absolute rubbish.- Product Quality

Unley Telstra Shop
Because I’m elderly and disabled I’m sometimes treated like an idiot by people who don't know me. So as I approached the Unley Telstra shop for advice on improving my mobile broadband I was quite wary. I needn’t have been concerned. A pleasant and very competent young man discussed the options for my requirement for a mobile router that would work well in rural areas. He sold me a router which has the advantage of 3G as well as 4G and external antenna ports. That was in May. Since then I’ve used the router in the country well away from cities and towns and it has worked well. Well done Unley Telstra shop!

Rouse Hill store not even deserving of 1 star!!
The Telstra store at Rouse Hill Town Centre has staff who are aggressive and abusive towards customers, as happened to me and my elderly mother when we went in to resolve a bill issue. The sales manager was rude and abrupt, had zero customer service skills (and other staff around him were just as rude and abusive towards us). When I asked for his name as I wanted to speak to his manager, he aggressively waved his arms at me yelling "you go sit there and wait 2 hours, I refuse to help you and you're not getting my name!!".

Excellent customer service
Called into the Glen Innes Telstra Store Wed 15th June, to query why I couldn’t recharge my mobile on its existing plan. The Telstra Store assistant informed me that Telstra had removed this plan, very disappointing as there was no notification of the plan’s removal. The assistant was very helpful, knowledgeable and explained the issue and options well. Thank you, certainly helps when we can actually speak to a person face to face.

Worst service from any vendor
Called into MacArthur Square store yesterday at 3pm. I was given an appointment and told the phone I wanted was available. 30 minutes later they call me and tell me they won’t have time to deal with me on the day.
In frustration I tried to purchase online through the Telstra app last night. The app refused my purchase as it claimed my bill wasn’t paid. Bill was paid at least a day prior.
Even more frustrated, I try calling 4 stores starting with Kearns Hill and of course no answer from any. I’m forced to leave a message for a return call with e...

Totally inefficient and unprofessional
I used to be with Telstra for all my services. A few months ago, after 23 years, I left them due to hopeless customer service. I went with another provider for everything. However, I wanted to purchase a simple mobile broadband device to use when travelling on business. I went to the Telstra online store. I purchased it. No confirmation email. Nothing. I followed up with them the next day. I got the 'online chat' service as there's simply no point even attempting to call them. I explained I was following up on my order. Did I have an ...
Read moreorder number? No. Or a confirmation email? No. Oh then the order has not been processed by our system, so you will have to re-order. I asked if there was any danger of having a duplicated order or charges and was told No, it won't duplicate and wont' be charged twice. So I re ordered. And no confirmation email. But I did get an order number on the online purchase screen. Still no email confirmation so I followed up because I had two charges showing on my credit card. This has now gone on and on and on and on....online chat, for ages. I have now received one device in the mail. It is the original one that I ordered and was told that it had not processed. So now the second one is on its way to me, apparently. The two devices have been charged to my credit card. I was not sent a confirmation or any kind of receipt for either purchase. I am sick and tired of talking and explaining all of this over and over again on the online chat. I refuse to pay to return the surplus/duplicated one and I want a refund. Whether I get it or not is another matter. I shop online a lot. It is usually very, very simple. This has been an absolute nightmare. It has cost me a lot of time, a lot of stress and frustration and I will never use Telstra again for anything.- Customer Service
